How come we get pointed to yesterdays thread for todays issues?
I know I don't want to read through 12 pages to get an answer on what's going on, etc, etc... The OP hasn't even been updated with ANYTHING at all - so really not helpful is it?

I hear they're thinking of renaming the game "MSSQL Crash Online"

Since today's crash, my client gets stuck at "Aquiring Bulk Data" until it times out without logging in.
My heart sunk when I saw the threadnaught in the Ignored Issues forum.
So, now I can't play til this gets fixed apparently.

When I log in the chat windows take alot longer to come up, and I was trying to change my bio but that seams to be very messed up, wont do anything I want it to and it seams like I can only fit maybe 1/4 of the lines I use to be able to get into my bio, and when ever I think I finally have it the way I want I close my character sheet right click my ship click on my pic to see what it looks like and its all borked again, larger text than I wanted, lines missing at the end.

You mean Micrososft is a real company with support desks and all? They actually support their bug ridden garbage?
Every time I have ever tried to get support for M$ software, I'm pointed to a third party support desk with little knowledge of the coding problems causing the error. On top of that, I have to pay extra for it.

OK, I tried reinstalling the Eve client and that hasn't addressed this issue. The client still hangs at "Aquiring bulk data" and then loses connection after about five minutes.
I contacted my ISP, who said there are no problems with the network today.
I don't use a wireless router, I use a USB ADSL modem.
I was able to log in fine at 3am this morning.
So the problem is at CCP's end and can someone fix it please?

This problem is actually on your end, try deleting all you cache. (It doesn't get cleaned out anymore with an reinstall) C:\Documents and Settings\[username goes here]\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE And delete the entire cache folder

I have completely removed all eve cache folders, which has made no difference.
I am also using the "/end /LUA:OFF" switch to prevent the cache from being stored under "documents and settings".
Also, when you tell people to delete their cache folder, you should mention to them to hold onto their "Settings" folder, otherwise they'll have the PITA of reorganising their contacts, bm's and market quickbar.

This could be part of your problem. USB makes for a terrible way to use any sort of broadband connection. Try using Ethernet cables to connect your modem instead of usb. -------------------------- Official VnV ocd forum resident :) Victory not Vengeance [VnV] Proud member of Intrepid Crossing [IRC]

I could try that and it might help with general connection quality but I don't see how my USB connection could be magically making this problem appear. I have no problem accessing other web services.
Given that my system has not changed substantially since this morning and my network is fine, the fault appears to be with the server. It is affecting users with a wide range of connection setups, in any case, as you can read if you check that thread I linked above.

Fair enough.
Anyway, I still tried deleting the cache and I'm getting nowhere. Haven't been able to log in since DT today.

make one wonder if they stop using microsofts products maybe this stuff wouldn't happen.
maybe the conspiracy theory of microsoft is actually correct. that they purposly design isues into thier software that eventually fix thru buying a new version of hat product. but the new version of tht product that finnaly addresses the issue.is designed with new ones. keepping a people in a loop having to give more money to microsoft.
