Im honestly worried. The next logical step seems to be to remove this forum entirely and let someone else host and moderate it. I prey that never happens.
You ain't the only one. Would be nice if the cloak and dagger stuff was just dropped for a change. If it were done in stages I'd be less worried, but trimming the moderators to such a degree...doesn't bode well.

Firstly, I think that the volunteers have done a wonderful job over the last four years, under occasionally very difficult circumstances.
Secondly, if this means that the promised story-arc that that was promised to have been completed by the end of 2007 gets delayed yet again I will be going on a rampage the like of which has never been seen before.
I don't think I need to remind anyone at CCP what story-arc I'm talking about.

I have been with ISD for 6 months, in that time I have worked with Aurora and CRC. It has been an honour to serve alongside both teams and they all require a pat on the back for all their efforts and hours they have put into the eve community in the pass weeks, months and years.
Good Luck to the members of both teams in their futures.

My fellow forumites and ISD mates,
For over 2 years I have been here moderating the forums. During none of this have I never regretted joining ISD and having so much interaction with the community. Guys, I love you all!

Well atleast you might actually get an arc for your leader, some day. Our Prez snuck in without even a glimmer of the exciting arc that'd been promised... --------

Worked for Wrangler ;).
I always thought ISD was a good idea but just a little mismanaged. It does somewhat break the idea of every player being treated equally when some have a slightly more direct line to the devs and GMs but I think that's part of the reason for ISD's shutdown. Even if it's only a temporary shutdown for a review of procedures, it's another important step forward for the longevity of eve.
I remember calling for a review of volunteer procedures in the wake of the T20 incident and various information leaks and it's good to see that it's coming. So how will this work now? If it's decided that volunteer positions with authority or power that are filled by players are inherently open to abuse, might it not be a good idea to employ professional people to fill ISD's roles? I'm sure CCP has the cash for it.

Only been in Aurora for more than a year or so but it was the best quality time in Eve by a long shot. Sometimes even falling off my chair laughing. (Actually liked armageddon day as well btw.) CCP gave us the unique opportunity to devote our time to Eve helping out making the game more special. Even if this meant spending hours preparing for an event that only runs 5 minutes because players liked their pew pew a little too soon. *shakes fist*
So don't underestimate the hours ISD has put in. If they put that time into veld mining they'd make Chribba very happy. Massive respect for this. Even though we all couldn't create lag in an empty sytem if we really wanted to.
I guess everyone saw this was coming. But it's gonna be even better. CCP owe us.
I'll certainly miss the pointless chats on IRC/TS. I'll certainly miss the 'what is this blue text about?' questions in local. It was not blue! It was teal!

First off, o/ to the rest of the CRC crew. You guys kick ass, and clearly CRC was made from pure win and awesome. I'm very sad to see it go. To the guys who will deal with the forums from here on out I say good luck (especially in CAOD ;) ).
A big "Thanks!" goes to the members, too. Many of you emailed us when we missed things, and now and then we got a heartfelt "thank you" which really brightened our day, even more so than the hundreds of male enlargement drug advertisements that somehow flooded our inboxes every day.
As for the future, we'll all sign up as moderators on SHC :P.

I would like to thank all the volunteer moderators.
CCP, I for one will support you on rearranging your teams how you see fit.
However, I don't see that as justification for the change to the market forums. The official explaination regarding the state of the in-game contracts is even less defencable.
Please, provide us with a forum in which we can properly advertise business. If you do not think that the current incarnation is acceptable, I would suggest the following as an alternative with the hopes that it would be easier to moderate.
Create a Business Directory forum, allow one active post per corp to advertise their goods and/or services. Standard bumping rules of one per day would apply. If a corp feels that their thread is getting to long they can request to have it locked so that they can open another one. No NPC corp postings just like with COAD and such.
By having such a forum, it would enhance the importance of building a reputation as a corp for providing a specific set of goods and services, but would still fill a much needed role.

Respect and gratitude to the volunteers, who have done an admirable job 99 per cent of the time.
Suspicion and anger to CCP for this move and the style it was pulled off. Koporate krap to very possibly (why else say a lot and not tell us anything?) disguise an ulterior motive, it would seem. I suspect the volunteer's independence will be severely restricted and the news, already scarce, removed to force players to suscribe to both E-ON and EVE-TV if they wish to participate in the living fiction that is EVE (much as has been done with the dev chats and EVE voice, IIRC). Beyond being a rip-off, this will add another layer between the makers and players of the game, between CCP and the community, and EVE as a whole will not profit but suffer from it.

Many of us joined for a single reason: to give back to a community that gave us something. To all of ISD, it has been a pleasure and an honor. To AURORA and my fellow CRC, we have done our jobs, we have helped shape this community, and now it is time to step out of our roles - roles some of us have held for quite some time - and let things progress. To the community - it has been a fun ride from threadnaughts to hijacks. I'll miss this.
Good luck, fly safe, and if nothing else - take someone with you! -ReverendM

I'm having a hard time understanding this move. I suspect this move is due to things happening in the background that CCP have found out.
I must ask for more information into this as I feel the community deserves it, it feels to me that although we have been told ISD is to cease in certain areas we are not being given the whole picutre here.
Can we have some clarity on the situation please
Also if this is the case I would remove the rights to sign up for ISD maybe?

/me bows to all ISD members and a big thank you. Hopefully you will remain within ISD and do a great job at another position.
As for the moderator team, I really really hope this isn't the beginning of a forumless EVE-Online, nor a change to deploy the "ingameboard.asp" to its full name. The forums are a big part of EVE and that is amongst the last things I would want to see gone.
Best wishes for all, and welcome to the Community team.

I don't understand whats going on. Just ISD - Aurora, or all ISD?
Though i've been a huge pita and my record probably has 10,000 flags on it, thank you isd for enforcing the rules well and all that other stuff you do.
Hopefully no livelihoods are effected negatively by this.

Thank you Nebulai and Galen for trusting and believing in me. You made my stride possible and you helped me grow and more importantly - made it possible for me to help others grow. It's been a pleasure serving you. I bow to you.
It has been a pleasure sharing part of my life with you brethren Aurorians. We have had a wonderful time together and we have held our heads high, although the tidal waves have swept in almost drowning us.
We have done things I couldn't imagine possible. We have outperformed ourselves over and over. We've given life to New Eden that unfortunately will not return in the forseeable future.
I bow to you my old and new friends within Aurora. We might be enemies ingame with our main characters, but out of game in our communication channels we have been one. We have been standing united against everything and everyone and we have come out stronger each and every time. Our bond is strong, our morale has never swayed, our passion and loyalty is neverending. We are Aurora.
To the rest of ISD I wanna say "thank you". It's been a pleasure getting to know you and working alongside you. All my love to you.
The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long - and you have burned so very, very brightly, Aurora.
