The new AvP film is out at christmas, trailer looks ok but judging by the last one i wont be going to see it!

I agree that they have been butchering the whole Aliens and Predators thing alot lately, but I'd still watch it. Its not exactly a buyers market out there for good xenomorph movies...

if it was set in the future, like around the time of the 1st alien films with crazy marines and such id go watch it, but its boring being set in this time period

I saw people getting killed on the trailer, I thought the point of a trialer was to give you a peak, rather than show you what happens. I will be seeing this when it comes out, Im not a fan of the aliens films but I love the first 2 predators, AVP was ok, got the dvd but dont watch it as once youve seen it you dont really want to watch it again.

Looks like the whole film is in the trailer.
Remains to be seen whether they include the Machiko character from the first film, or they just end up blooding Michelle Desler at the end of this one, which looks more than likely.

The first one may have put me off AvP for life. I can barely bring myself to play the game anymore without being overcome with "God this sucks!". And the games are really good- the film has just infected them

I do not think that is supposed to be 'THE' trailer for the film.
In the Trailer, the dude loaded off with the F bomb. I think it was just for the fans who would like to see an Aliens Vs. Predator movie with plenty of blood, gore, violence, action, horror... all those moments where the Predator and the Alien are BAD-ASS.
We'll see a 'watered-down' trailer of it in theatres soon, however for now, enjoy all the blood and gore you can shake a stick at.

I was rather disappointed by AVP myself being a huge fan of aliens and predators. But I kinda saw it coming due to alien 3 and resurrection.
My biggest issue with AVP was how fast the first 2 predators died and only one of them thought to acid proof his weapons. That and cobwebs in a temple that's been buried under the ice in the antarctic for thousands of years.
It'd be nice to see a better sequel but I'm not giving up my hopes. Will still go watch it in theatres though.
And Constatine was awesome.

Constantine wasn't bad, but it could have been so much better. They dumbed it down way too much from the comic books and changed the main character way too much.
I'm not one of those rabid fanboys who hate any and all changes in a movie adaption, but seriously, the comics are just so much better, and the main character (it's not even teh same character in the movie) is just head and shoulders above Keanu "Woah" Reaves' version.

It doesn't look too bad actually. AVP sucked but as a fan of the franchises I still went to see it a second time and I'll go see this one once, at least.
Maybe it won't be too bad...we all expected Transformers to suck ass and it was pretty awesome so maybe AVP-R will surprise us.

The first few Hellblazer comics had none of that crap, haven't read more than the first couple though. I liked Constantine but I saw it after I had read the comics so was a little disappointed. Keanu Reeves is not a mousy-blonde haired, manky looking scouser.
Spike from buffy actually looks more like John Constantine than Keanu did.

But the helmets were too easy punched through my the Xenomorphs inner jaws. Their helmets should have withstood a few punches from the inner jaws before *****ing and giving way, but the makers of the film decided to let them be so flimsy that one bite pierced through. Ironic how a bullet can ping off the Hunters helmet but a Xenomorph inner jaw attack punches right through.
and the older Predator which acid proofed his weapons was blooded and was there to Oversee the Blooding hunt, so that the unblooded ones wouldnt cheat and would hunt with Honor.

I definitly don't know as much of the lore as you but I could swear in the movie they explained the history as that only the chosen predators who have proved themselves in the hunt are allowed to undergo this trial of hunting the ultimate prey.
Even the last predator still marked his helmet and himself after he made that kill.
To me it was just lame that the alien managed to get 2 kills in right off the bat. I can see the first kill because the predators were distracted but not the second. Predators are more skillful than that.
oh and I don't know if anyone remembers this but this actually isn't the first time Aliens and predators met. If you watch predator 2 when Danny Glubber is on the predator ship he goes and looks at the trophies, you actually can see a alien skull there.

Theres was one highlight in the movie though, the scene where the predator picks up an alien by the tail and slapps him around.

That whole fight scene was pretty cool. I love how he just body tackles the alien then grabs him by the tail and continues to give the alien some massive brain damage.
