I appreciate you and your team not being thrilled with the trolls and smack others have thrown at you. Seemed to me you replied fairly and stated MC would accept whatever point deductions (or whatever) the GMs deem appropriate. After that it is up to them.
To let the trolls get at you like this seems uncharacteristic.

Clearly MC felt they were getting too much heat from the troll and alt brigade and have come to this decision.
They dont need it and its their decision to make.
Sorry to see you withdraw and quite how this will affect this and future tournaments is going to have to be seen.
Certainly these things seem to stir up a hell of a lot more trouble than they are worth.
A few people make really huge efforts to entertain the rest of the community and a few people make supreme efforts to ruin that fun for everyone else.
Unfortunately all the trolls have to do to win this battle is to ensure the people that make the effort for others just stop doing so.
Stopping hard work and dedication when it is unrewarded and unpaid is darn easy to do.
As MC has just demonstrated to us all. -

They lose their billion ISK entry fee. Maybe that is pocket change to them...dunno but still a part of it.

I think they are rather doing it because they want to make a statement about how badly the GMs handled some decisions there.
They don't want special treatment and they don't need it imho.

That's quite possible. Maybe this is their way of politely saying 'GMs, you fail', or maybe they're quitting because they know the ****'s going to hit the fan and they'd rather retire now and look like victims to smack (which one COULD argue is justified), rather than it looking like they got special treatment.
This honestly is not sarcasm, I honestly believe it could be either, but I can see people calling it childish dropping out rather than letting justice take its course (assuming it would).

Well, the decisions does appear to have some randomness in them. We lost 20 points at our last match because someone accidently moved a few meters before the match started.

Agreed but then it has nothing to do with MC inasmuch as applying the rules. Whatever happened happened and it is up to the GMs to do their thing.
I will say I REALLY wish the GMs responded to the accusations players were throwing out (there were a few questions even apart from MC). If a GM had simply come on and said they reviewed the videos and logs, adjusted points (if at all) and said that is it a lot of this would not be happening. Not saying the GMs should have engaged in the debate but a firm statement would have helped a great deal.
Their habit to stay out of the fray in this case was a bad decision since the tournament is so heavily scrutinized.

I sincerely wish that MC would reconsider this decision.
I'm pretty sure the decision was not made to protest the GM's decisions. MC has been very professional and mature through this disturbance, and have been quite open to having the situation reviewed, and/or having penalties assigned.
No, I rather think they have decided they don't have to put up with the crap thrown at them in this matter. I can't say as I blame them.
I do agree with the sentiment that there are more than a few children out there that are throwing tantrums directed at anything CCP, BOB, or MC do in this game... and evidently don't care that their gross over-reactions are helping to ruin this tournament for everyone. I feel that it is time for the rest of the EVE community to give them a resounding STFU, and then proceed to resolve any minor problems in a mature and appropriate manner.
As a long time adversary, I repectfully ask that MC please reconsider their decision. The tournament will suffer because of your absense.
