I won't go into greater detail about how well I knew DE, or about the response I got from trying express my sadness of the loss ingame..I'll just leave it at this and go about grieving over the loss by myself.

I am truly lost for words. He was 26 - this is truly tragic.
DE / Paul had the most outstanding personality I have ever seen. He lived life to the fullest, made time for everyone and is simply the most genuine person I have had the honour of knowing. This may just be a game of internet spaceships, but after speaking with someone on Vent, and knowing them for nearly a year the loss felt is extroadinary even though you have never met them. I have never heard him say a bad thing about anyone, and he had an ability to see the best of any situation.
I am truly saddened. The Veto family, and everyone who has ever known DE has lost someone we were very lucky and honoured to have known.

I had the pleasure and the honour of flying with DE, back in OOTSS and then AIL. He was such a lovely guy, would do anything for anyone. He gave me my very first Raven in fact, a ship I still have to this day (nearly 3 years later).
I am deeply saddened by his death, and hope he rests in peace. I'll miss you Elf, I really will.

I never knew him in person, but i'd like to express my sympathies to his family, his friends and everybody else close to him and otherwise attached.
@ Verone: you I only know from the fame your name has, but still - hang in there during your grief and mourning, as well as the rest of the Veto corp.
i wish you all strength and the ability to give this loss a place.

Due to the circumstances, I would like to appeal to the mods to leave this link available. It is a great example of the laughs DE brought us, and the memories we in Veto have of him.

I never had the pleasure of knowing DE out of game. He was an upstanding individual who brought a lot to this game of "internet spaceships" and will be sorely missed.

Very saddened to hear of DarkElf's passing. It was a complete shock and although I had only crossed paths with him on the forums and that only a bit, I found him engaging and informative, and I know he was a respected player, member of Veto. and PVPer.
I know I'll miss seeing his posts. My sincerest condolences to Veto. and to DarkElf's family and friends.
