Have drones automaticley restack when they are recalled to the drone bay, it SERIOUSLEY makes manageing drones in a carrier a pain in the ass where you launch a bunch of drones, then return them and you end up with something that looks like this:

I'd like to see the option of abandoning drones. e.g. you're in a dominix and have dropped sentry drones, but are now at range of them. Would be nice to abandon the drones to launch a set of medium drones without having to scoop the first set.
Also, all other weapon systems have rigs and/or modules that increase their damage output, e.g. mag stabs, bcs etc.. with the exception of drones. There should be some low slot modules available that enhance drone damage by a similiar percentage to give a bit more ship tweaking flexibility to drone-based combat pilots.

Oh, anouther thing based on my last post, is drone groups...
When you have a drone group open on 'drones in space/distant space', and you return them, can the "drones in bay" groups please default to non-expanded, otherwise it flicks the menu around for every drone that comes in and forces you to keep scrolling to the bottom of the drone menu to see how many are still in space, and is also just pointless, i don't need to see a detailed list of the drone group that is in my bay, i need a detailed list of the ones that are still in space. -

Oh one other thing (yeah i'm really loveing this thread ) allthough not drone control related, any chance of looking into webber and target painter drones, webber drones move too slowley and have too short of an activation range to be usefull in slowing anything down that is fast enouth really need webbing, they are also stacking nurfed so even a full carrier load of em will not slow there target down beyond 60%, and thats 13 of em! not just 5 like most people could hope to use, also the fact that they are heavys and not light or medium means that very few people will use them when they could have the damage output of 5 ogres.
As for target painter drones... well... they are just utterley useless, mabey if they were 1m3 and there new drone bandwidth useage (if its what we think it is) was also just 1... then *mabey* people would use them, as it is they are quite possabley one of the top 4 most useless mods in the game.

Oh yeah and a hitpoint buff for fighters would be nice as well, for 15-25m isk a pop, they are awefully weak esp. vs. just about any missiles except torps.

this can partly be sorted by grouping drones and not expanding the groups for the in drone bay section: mine UI normally looks closer to

Orbiting a stationary object should not induce any tracking problems, as radial velocity (the speed at which the target is changing relative heading) is zero. Once in a stable orbit, the target is always at the same direction (90 deg off to one side) from your ship, so there is not tracking penalty.

Seriously, don't lop them into the module rack. That's just a terrible idea. They need their own section that ISN'T so drastically removed from the rest of our ship's, well, everything. As in not on the overview, but not its own window either. Even if it means modifying the entire setup we have now.
What we have now is clunky and annoying at best. Please try to make it smooth, linear, and merged. Movable. Preferably not stuck in the center of the screen, and not the bottom. If you could move this to the top of the screen with the active tar

Well, you realize that this applies for carriers which assigns fighters only? Last time i checked they weren't able to enter "safe" empire space. 
Anyway, gang/corp/allianz members should not get attacked of assigned fighters.
How did you come to that conclusion...based on the order that the information was presented in the OP, it looks like new functionality is being added to standard drones...

Firstly: One possible way to improve drone UI
Secondly: Currently drones attack anything pretty much randomly which leads to drone micromanagement. So would be more than helpful if you add selectable AI profile for drones that forces them to attack only certain sized targets and ignore everything else.
If i select frigate only attack profile for drones, they attack frigs only. If i select cruisers, they could either attack cruisers only, or UP TO cruisers (ie: kill frigs and cruisers).
Thirdly: Make it so that drones always attack as a group instead of spreading their dps all over the place. (currently they spread out on 5 different targets after killing something which leads to drone micromanagement)

i am not sure if this thread is the place for this, but here it goes:
- reduce launch/scoop drones lag - update drone's stats according to skills when they get fitted on the drone bay - add hotkeys for drone management - disengage drone control panel from overview - add "abbandon drone" option - add "self-destruction" option, so that the drone acts like a mobile one-time-only smart bomb - let us use logistic drones on our own ship - although it is not exactly a drone mechanism, it is stupid that heavy drones missed more shots when the target is webbed than when it is not (really confusing tracking engine) - after killing a target, force all drones to attack the same new target

Can we get rid of the "instant-drone-shield recharge" thingy upon scooping? It's really annoying when, after spending 30 damped seconds trying to lock the bloody thing, you take it to half shield and it's promptly scooped and redeployed with its damage magically repaired...

Well of course i use drone groups! it would impossable to manage 1k+ drones without them the problem is that if a drone group for drones in space are open, when you recall them it opens the drone group in your bay as well, if you have a load of drones in a group unstacked that leads to a list a mile long, meaning i have to scroll up through them all to find the drone group, and minimize it so i can then - After even more scrolling down, find my drones in space so i can keep an eye on them.
If i have 50 drones in a group, and they have ALL become unstacked due to constant relaunching and scooping as will almost certainley happen in a long fleet battle, that leads to a *HUGE* amount of scrolling that shouldent happen for 2 reasons:
1- Drones should automaticley restack in the list. 2- A drone group that is open in "drones in space" and are then scooped, should not automaticley reopen a group of "drone in bay", the "drones in bay" group should remain closed unless i open it myself. -

Lots of good ideas, lots of pretty bad ones also..
There seems to be a bit of confusion regarding the "new drone commands" this would apply to all drones. Of course we'd restrict them somehow, for example:
òThe drones must be in the owners drone reach òIf the drone owner warps away the drones stop working òIf the gang mate dies the drones return and orbit òIf the gang mate warps away the drones return and orbit òYou cannot tell your drones to guard/assist a pod òDrones will not attack if the target is not a valid target to the owner
Concerning the drone settings, aggressive mode is basically how they behave today, perhaps adding a "always focus fire" option is a good idea.
When you think you've got a good idea, stop and think what it would do for game balance. Like allowing logistic drones to target yourself, also think of the fun factor..making drones automatically repair a gang member in need is too idiot proof and no fun.
Keep the ideas coming!

I feel your painnnn. im glad its not just me :( And my overview is basically 1/2 of my screen height the rest is drones... oh except the buggy fleet interface and broadcast which constantly fkin maximizes without actually doing so. enter new system or whatever and blam it bumps itself open with blankness so when u try and shut it to get room back it opens so u gotta then shut it then extend dronebay down again. which wastes god knows how much time. grrrrrrr

More comfort in stations like setting groups there.

It takes ages setting groups in space if u scroll down for them in overview ( carrier). If u coud open in stations these "racks" and place drones inside u coud easy setting groups in stations then.
Limited "drone rack slots" for all ship types.
Reducing 5 drones u can see now in space to 1 drone group. Same dmg like 5/ same hitpoints etc... just only reduced objects in space. A mothership coud have max 5 drones groups then. 4x 5 + 1 x 3
"Seperate drone buttons ( group related)" which coud be activated like guns.
-push on it will open commands
Plz take all drone commands from the actualy overview.
Command settings on drones.
(skill based via warfare skills)
( drone warfare - drone warfare specialist)( inreased the coordination of your drones)
Like : define which kind of ship he had to target first.
frigs-> cruisers->bs... etc.
So drones coud be setted which ships they kill first.
No clue about if this coud be possible and worth coding it.

1. make the grouped drones finaly ACT LIKE A GROUP. the only reason to group drones is to have some kind of inventory in the dronebay. launched drones NEVER EVER act like they are part of a group.
2. repair option for drones in bay. create a drone repair module for high slot. when drones are in bay, you can mark the damaged ones for repair. module takes cap and repairs drone after drone till there are no marked drones left. this should be slower than any existing remote repping. drone being repaired cannot be launched and module cannot be turned off/offlined if there are drones marked for repair.
3. defualt behavior selector when there are no commands. basicaly a selector for return and orbit or return to dronebay if the drones are out of commands and in one of the command only modes (default should be return and orbit). for example if the assigned player dies/warps etc.
4. Abandon drones button/option would come VERY handy.
Will the assigned drones honor ship bandwith? I mean can a Dominix f.e. assign 5 heavy drones to an Eagle (no dronebay of its own) ??? And then launch 5 more of it's own?
And one last, please make all drone mods high slot so drone carriers have an alternative modules for NOS. Meds and lows are generaly more used for other things like tank and propulsion/ewar.

But when trying to scope them in this situation it should have a 10 seconds 'unattach' delay. So avoid the unscope and rescope tactic which make it pretty much like a gun turret. If they warp or use MWD while sentry attached to you, they will detach and will requires you to go back and attach / scope again.
There should be a way to warp back to drone you left in the field to rescope later, at least, until you jump out of the system. Why is "Drone in distant space' not used for normal drone, only fighter?
Drone HP should not be buffed. That is their disadvantage. Their advantage is that they don't use cap and don't use ammo. which more then enough to off set the possibility to be destroy.
Drone should also have the option to always attack the same group, having them go to 5 seperate target make no sense.

There probably need some module that are possible to make drone specialized, like guns. Omni is probably the only useful module beside Drone aug, Drone nav module is entirely useless since drone doesn't use mwd much anyway. Those modules need T2 variations, or at least named variations
A damage increase module on high or low slot -might- be nice, to finally use some of the high slot that most drone ship don't have use for anyway. But balance might be tough. 3% damage bonus on a T1 and 5% on a T2 sound reasonable, with some reasonably demanding CPU and grid requirement, make it size specifies ( for example, a large damage mod will only give bonus to large drone, and have heavy grid requirement in line with any other battleship module) . A high slot would be reasonable and highly favorable to drone boat.
Module to increase drone space might be useful for -any- ship if it is high or low.
Module to repair drone inside of drone bay is a great idea as well, probably a mid slot?
Allow logistic drone, or make new type of drone to -takes- damage dealt to owner's ship, but not repair owner ship's damage due to interferes with the bandwidth interface. Basically turning it into a defensive satellite, this might be something to look into as this will solve the problem of Logistic drone being useless in solo situation and all the whiners about logistic drone can't target yourself, and the balance issue if we DO allow drones to target self.
Drone need tracking bonus skill.
Finally, drone ships should have damage bonus on only one size of drone, either large, medium, or small, not all at once, according to the size of that ship. For example, a dominix should only have damage bonus on large drone. (This is probably going to be considered as a huge nerf)

- Ability to abandon drones, as stated elsewhere numerous times. V important for "drone only" boats. - Assist mode should be contextual to the type of drone it is applied to. Logistic drones would help target, combat drones would fight for target. - There is no "sensible" reason why logistics drones can't help the player's own ship. It's counter-intuitive that they can't. Gameplay issues regarding this need to be addressed.
As an aside, fixing drones will go a long way to bringing EVE:Online out of Beta. :P
