You're upset with the results that arose from that process due to factors outside of the CSM process. Well guess what. That's what happens in a Democracy. Sometimes good politicians get screwed by factors entirely out of their control. Like something they advocated as safe blows up in a freak accident, or a position they held based on the best information they had becomes unpopular due to a sudden change in the information. Single-Shard, Player Driven Sandbox. 5 words. That's what makes it special in my eyes.
