But on looking around I saw a few ships I was kinda...meh...about. For me: - Raven: Just too bland. Looks like a pewter model (read dull metal) waiting to be painted. Could use some highlights Note: Do not rely on screenies too much. The ships often look far better in person than is suggested by a screenie.

I fear for the prowler, feel it's probably silver/blue, aslong as it's not tootally horrible I'll accept it. Least I know the rifter and breacher hulls are still sexy. Oh and the amarr ships I can fly will be pretty. In all honesty I feel some of the minnie ships lost their...minnieness, as I said, rupture and cyclone hulls which I used to love I now feel are clunky.

Minmatar ships needed a material upgrade anyway given the improving state of their technology (see Hurricane, Maelstrom versus earlier ships.) But backstory aside I also like the new Vagabond, although I wish it had kept its camo paint scheme. The new Scythe/Scimitar model isn't quite as nice looking as I'd hoped it would be when CCP announced a total redesign of that hull, but it's still okay. The new Claw and Stiletto are flippin awesome looking. I'll close this post with the oft-repeated whine that there was no reason whatsoever for the Marauders not to have utilized the tier-3 BS hulls. edit: and cyan and gray Thanatos?! blech! Tell me they didn't do that to the Nyx too.

The model is pretty bad but i've gotten used to it over the years but i now i also have to get used to flying the dominix with hello-kitty-online paint job... I would SO have the dock personnel strung up for such sabotage! Ahh well looks are not everything but I have to say i was pretty disappointed by nearly all t1 gallente ships... the pink and baby blue (well pink is lighting-dependent but baby blue anyway) was pretty terrible. I think my little sister (age 10) could have found two colors that more people would have found "cool" then the two colors that CCPs art department came up with... sorry for the bashing but i think it wouldn't have been hard to do a better job... oh well.. i'll wait and see how it looks under DX9 (though the baby blue really is giving me the creeps). But then I am not intimately familiar with the Hype (seen them around of course and had a look but not stared at one for hours because I was flying it) so thought it best to keep my mouth shut. HDR without AA sucks aesthetically; disabled it and am running full aa etc instead, no bloom and the like, but smoother. EDIT: Using a radeon x1950pro (512mb), was playing with full aa etc turned on and thought what the hell, let's see what happens when I turn on hdr (..and prepared to reinstall my sisi client lol). So far it seems to be working, HDR, full bloom, extreme shadows, max AA, AF etc, looking sexier What's with all the cyan on gallente ships? It works on a couple, the megathron springs to mind, but looks ridiculously crap on others such as the domi, thanatos and thorax. Erebus used to be a really nice deep blue, now it looks dull, grey and some large areas of the sides of the model look less detailed, why? Apparently all the black ships have been abducted and subjected to the Michael Jackson treatment to varying degrees. Shame on you CCP! Bring back the shiny blackness. Amarr....seems gold is now beige. Abaddon looks crap as a result, not particularly reminiscient of the first glimpse we got of it in a trailer ages ago, all gleaming and golden. Geddon also looks a little washed-out, closer to the current apoc colouring than the tq geddon. Retribution looks nice and gold though, why reserve it for an AF? Trying to make people want to fly them? ;P [oh and what's with all the lovely shiny green vanishing from the malediction?] Minmatar....vaga looks sleek and sexy on tq; on sisi it looks bulky and rusty, cheers, nice one. :/ Sig removed. Please keep sigs to 400x120 pixels and 24000 bytes in size or less. -Kaemonn

When I logged into sisi the Hype was my primary ship so popped into existence, I must admit I looked at it for what seemed like an age wondering why my screen was so.. wrong. Then i changed ship to cycle through them, ya know take a sneak peak etc and realised it was just that one ship Ahwell, since the gal "re-design" stats wise I've jumped in the NH etc and will give Caldari a chance again, have to admit they made the cal ships pretty funky now.

In the old Raven you have some small lights there that make it feel like some sort of bridge. In the new model the lights are gone and you have what looks like a huge frigate type of one person cuckpit windshield. This disvirtuates the Raven¦s size totally versus smaller ships. Lego that's been dragged through mud. :( I like the majority of the rest of the stuff though. The Bhaalgorn could do with being deeper red, doesn't look like blood anymore. The Vagabond looks a bit odd, but I'll get used to it. All the Amarr ships look awesome. The Mega (particularly the Vindicator variant) looks amazing.

The other ships have similar problems but not to that degree. I LOVE the way the minmatar look now. Our ships dont look like flying scrap heaps anymore. And the vagabond is absolutely gorgeous... has that dragonish frill thingy goin on... very awesome. For those of you who dont like it... look on the bright side... the new ewar frigs make flying the vagabond a pretty goofy idea. Ultra cheap hugins ftl. Also, camo is absolutely fking ********. Adding fins and extrnal modules is a bazzillion times better than simply reskinning something... who the hell needs red and black camo in space? Its not awful tho. The ships still look good... more could hav ebeen done. I will say the munin is pretty cool looking with it's red windows and all =) Dominix is awful. Wtf were you thinking with those colors.

So you just have to run EVE with the old client and have the old graphics if you don't like the changes. I like the new changes, I think it's fresh and nice. Falcon looks unchanged, Rook is still the dull piece of crap impossible to distinguish from BB at a distance. And the Onyx just fails, like all the Moa-based designs. The second one is a real pity as this was the perfect opportunity to give the ugliest hull in eve some love :(. --- I am violence boat

Seems most, if not all, other ships either improved, or remained the same. And that one ship is the Flycatcher. Not only is it being speed nerfed (because that one-low-slot let it achieve imbalanced speeds) and becoming arse, it actually looks like arse as well. The only thing left is to rename it (Arsecatcher), and be done with it.

BLACK. Fix them now. Look at the Curse, Vengeance and Damnation for hints on how to do this. These ships are so pretty looking I'm going to have to fly a Vengeance even though the stats are junk. Phobos: It's supposed to be PINK. Not gray with a token patch of dark red (that barely looks any different from the gray). Make it pink again so I can humiliate people by killing them with the giant space-****. Vulture, Falcon: nice models, but the colors are way too subtle. Put the contrast back to the old colors. Hawk: blue + silver >>>>>>> ugly gray. Fix this. Onyx: it's a Moa, and it isn't even a black Moa. If it was actually a proper shade of black, this might almost be a forgiveable sin. Either put it back to the excellent-looking Caracal model/skin originally on SiSi, or at least make it a black Moa like the old Nighthawk.

The only real problem I have is with the new Hulk and Mackinav models and strips. The coloring isn't good, they are to square, their strips have nice lightings, but they sorta sink into the ship, and the bow of those ships are horrible like before. The strips go in rapid burst like a pulse laser it would make more since if we saw ore after every burst.To fix the ugliness of the mackinav and hulk would be to give them the hawt bow of the skiff/procurer.

The Typhoon, Mastodon, The Flying Toilet Sea... errr, I mean Muninn, Vaga, Tempest all suck now. Crappy low res textures, blocky shapes where there used to be curves( example: Mastodon's nose) predominate. They all look like they were designed by 5-year olds, and show a very poor effort on CCP's part when it comes to minnies. Their shuttle, I must admit though, is exceptional. Some of the Caldari ships look like they were given the short end of the stick, too. The Raven's smudge... err, I mean texture looks it had been a detailed skin before they gave it an acid bath. Ditto Scorpion. Caracal barely shows any change. Amarr WIN on most, while Gallente WIN on some and FAIL on others. All in all, I think there's been an uneven effort expended on designing and skinning the new models. Some models barely show any change, some changed for the worse and some are quite outstanding. Maybe, it all has to do with the difference in levels of expertise among the graphical artists of CCP.
