Welp, I have a friend in San Fran who dresses in black, pulls the curtains shut and spends the day in silent mourning for the over 30,000,000 Turkey Deaths involved.

I'm sure you've heard already about that tongue-piercing that controls a wheelchair.
What's amazing is:
William Gibson Huh. And here I just "invented" a magnetic tongue-piercing as an interface device a few months ago, in my new novel. + a palate "keyboard".

Welp, we didn't march the 10 miles straight. We did practice for hours though, in August.......in Texas......on an asphalt surface.....in 103F heat and 98% humidity.
I'm honestly not sure how we survived (one person even fell over in an epileptic fit once from the heat).

Sequel-Proof movies (thank god):
"It's a Wonderful Life" "Dr. Strangelove" "Ghost" "Casablanca" "The Truman Show" "Gone With the Wind" "Bonnie and Clyde" "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" "Titanic" "Saving Private Ryan" "Million Dollar Baby" "The King's Speech" "Gandhi" "Thelma & Louise" "Braveheart" "The Last Emporer"
this, of course, does not preclude remakes.......... "He has mounted his hind-legs, and blown crass vapidities through the bowel of his neck."-á - Ambrose Bierce on Oscar Wilde's Lecture in San Francisco 1882 |

Those were compiled by the main film critic for the San Francisco Chronicle, and he made honestly a tragic mistake, especially for someone at his level.
He put "Terms of Endearment" on his list. BUT:
"A sequel, "The Evening Star", in which Shirley MacLaine and Jack Nicholson reprised their roles, was released in 1996 to much less critical or commercial acclaim." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terms_of_Endearment#Sequel
Truly professional journalism is dead. This is why I especially don't believe most "facts" in regular news stories anymore, especially the early initial reports.
ed: And technically, "Gone With the Wind" did have an authorized book sequel, "Scarlet". "He has mounted his hind-legs, and blown crass vapidities through the bowel of his neck."-á - Ambrose Bierce on Oscar Wilde's Lecture in San Francisco 1882 |

I hope 2001 never gets remade either. I guarantee if someone did remake it we would have sound in space and more dialogue than needed.
Although I'm sure the visuals would be spectacular nowadays. But then again I'm fond of the miniatures they used. Ohh Shiny |

Oh god. The outcry from general fans and the critical community would stop it indeed. Besides, it's rights (and for all of Kubrick's films) are owned in perpetuity by The Stanley Kubrick Estate and Archives, so it ain't gonna ever happen thank goodness.
ed: The "weird creation of the universe sequence" in "The Tree of Life", done by Douglas Trumbull himself, will give you an idea of what 2001 effects would look like now. It's fairly jaw-dropping.
Ah........just thought of "Blue Velvet" for the sequel proof list. Actually, all of David Lynch's films could be thrown on the list, except for "Dune" of course (that film is just an anomaly in so many ways).
