Well granted I didn't play it that much either but I've wasted.money on way worse things.

D3s issue for me is that in this day and age dungeon crawlers with linear stories for me dont work. The worlds come a long way in 15 years.

What worked in 2000 doesnt work today without a lot of nostalgia glasses.

Like i adore baldurs gate 2 but my friend who bought it on steam just couldnt get it. Modern games are so less text heavy and the stories have voice or video.

mechwarrior is fun with an outfit. it's funny to watch people come around a corner, see a stalker, and run away while i burn lasers/SRM12 into their backside

WoT is also fun if you don't take it too seriously. some friends help, though everyone stopped playing before i started.

Edit: i'd also like to add, it's fun to see people back up around a corner once my fully upgraded T-150 shows them the long 107 and angled armour

I loved D2, until I beat it on the normal difficulty in offline mode and didn't play it again.

I never played D3, as I knew it'd be riding on D2 and more of the same. my thoughts on that were proven correct.

Given their experience with wow youd think theyd know not to make statements like that.

I just couldn't get into Mech warrior, I was gonna play with some friends and bought the founders pack, and just didnt play.

I loved sitting hull down in my T-32 laughing at people cause of my insane armour. I miss that game sometimes, i just dont have people to play it with anymore.

Lol i played Barb in D3, before they made all those changes to allow people to comeplete the higher difficulties with a barb because of the pure damage output the mobs did.

Well they try to make the game accessible to payers that've never touched a game before and it really kills it for people like me thathave decades of experience to ride on.

I refused to buy any of the packs for mechwarrior, i just saw them as ploys. the funniest one was 'buy these now, get them in 6 months!' basically ensuring they keep some playerbase that long. people bought it too.

WoT is much different from beta, from what i can gather. let me know if you want to play again. i like my soviet tanks. t-150 is my highest though.

So allow me to launch into a brief love letter of the game that is consuming my life.

Banished.

This game is superb if you love resouce management strategy games.

The premise is simple, survival. Get enough resources to grow your settlement and make it through the winter.

To do this you will need to manage resources and harness your most important resource; people. Food is crucial for survival but so is firewood for heating. You need a varied diet so you will divide your people into jobs being it farmers fishermen etc.

As your settlement grows you can trade with neighbours buying their goods and using them to expand your own resources such as seeds and livestock.

For example you can build a tailor who has 3 recipes. Leather / wool or warm weather which is wool + leather. So if you have cows you can do one or sheep the other but to get the best you need both which will require trade.

Thats about it. Survival. But its the best $20 ive spent in a long time.

An additional note, the game is made by 1 guy. So that $20 he will get $16 of it from steam after comission. So thats real money going to a real person. This isnt EA going to a profit margin so Trip Hawken and the shareholders can buy new porsche. This is giving him a living. So dont be stingy and wait for a sale. Go and bloody buy it.
