I should ask some family, but I believe his family came from the North Rhine area around Dortmund. But I am not sure, I am not as good with family history as a respectable person should be. 
I should find out more, though. If records still exist. He has passed away and I do not know how much family records my family has kept around. He married an Irish woman  , and so much of the living family identifies with her roots more than his.

I'm probably not the best person to ask. Those that have joined can probably provide the best answer.
But, if I had to guess, I'd say it's because we are AU/EU prime time and don't take the game too seriously. We just have a good time and support each other; and LAGL is run by an AU Cartel.

Oh, not unhappy about that of my heritage - just that I know very little about the other historical aspects of my family since my grandparents raised their children as Irish Catholic. The German and Swedish histories got lost along the way.
