So I had some PLEX sitting in Hek, and obviously, since I'm not really playing at the moment, I'm not making ISK in game. I needed to buy an MCT certificate to make up the rest of the 2.4 billion for the set. There was a set available in Hek, but I wasn't willing to sell the MCT to buy orders there.
So off I go (alt) to Jita in my Blockade Runner. It didn't have much in it (comparatively), just a few Tengu subsystems I'd brought for cheap, old stock, and Metal Scraps.
I wasn't using my Logitech mouse with all the programmed buttons at the time, as I was kind of thinking it'd be a 10 minute job. Now, I don't have insta-docks, because I'm generally OK with distances. But not today. 2200m from the Jita station.
Bummer, so on goes the MWD to cover the distance ---alas.
Combat alarm goes on, "****, combat" and first thing I was thinking of was the GTFO buttons on my Logitech mouse, but I didn't have it in my hand. So I threw the first mouse back across the room, and grabbed the other one from a bag (yeah I know, too lazy to even grab the right mouse beforehand, positioned within arms reach).
But not that any of it mattered. Being an alpha gank, the goddamn client (computer) was still lagged out until 5 seconds after it happened. And GTFO buttons wouldn't help a wreck to cloak. I docked and undocked again less than 30 seconds after (after more lag, lol), but the wreck was already destroyed.
Looked over at the floor, and the first mouse was obviously also shattered. "Piece of **** anyway."
Brilliant, isn't it?
I was pretty lucky to have already been in the process of paying for ISK. I don't generally allow for losses to other players, and I don't have a lot of funds in either my ISK wallet or real one at the moment.
All of that just to get a set of implants with an underwhelming bonus to agility. And now I've gotta get more PLEX to extend my own MCT (funny how that works).
aaallllll for Nomads. Can't even get a High-Grade type set to at least feel good about the price. |

I'm not losing sleep over anything, especially not the game. I mean, when I do play, it's on someone else's computer. A mac. And it has weird mouse acceleration. I can blame that mouse acceleration for the loss of my Garmur the other day.
