Damien i also have problems with nv4_disp.dll crashes with blue screen. More often I have simply trinity.dll and blue.dll client crashes without BS. My problems started about 1-2 weeks after trinity patch. Graphic card: GeForce 7600GT, Win XP SP2, 2gb ram I have no problems with other games.

Any news on updates for this?
I bought the 8800GT so i could play the PREMIUM graphics WITH AA and all the eye candy. Instead, i am back to Classic client. WTF CCP? Wanna refund my money maybe? Or at least say you are working on the fix == Above comments are my personal views Oveur >Local shouldn't be a tactical tool, it's for chat

This game is unplayable. I have had 6 of these today, mainly it seems in blue.dll.
I like so many others, have an 8800GT.
Is the fix to de-install the Trinity graphics client ?

Disabling 'Premium Graphics Content' from the Display and Graphics tab in options stops me getting 'blue.dll' crashes.
This has gone from 1 per hour / 2 hours to not happening at all.
Suggest anyone else seeing the crashes in blue.dll tries the same.

Umm..I think that is not a solution. What is the point to add premium graphics if there is a lot of ppl who can't use it If ccp could fix this issue everyone is much more happier.

I get this too on Premium graphics. Right click ship to enter starbase password, and 50% of the time blue.dll/python25.dll will crap out.
Machine is running Vista Home Premium x64, it's a E6850 Core2, 4GB RAM, 8800GTS 512MB, nVidia 650i Ultra board, running all latest drivers.
Classic graphics are totally stable.

If I run premium graphics I will get a crash everytime I hover the mouse cursor over a gate, station, or titan. This makes the game unplayable, so I'm back to running the classic client. I am running an Nvidia 8800GT. I am using WinXP.

Edited by: Lord Shihayazad on 13/03/2008 19:31:01 Hello club... My Eve is also crashing every 1-10 minutes, please fix this.
I tried almost anything, classic and premium client both on linux and windows xp. It crashes differently, but every 1-10 minutes. And it doesn't matter what i do ingame.
My system is quite old, AMD XP 2800, 1GB Ram, nvidia 6600 gt.

Its all my fault. Every time I take time off work to play Eve CCP have a patch day and subsequently introduce playability issues. I apologise to everyone. I have noticed that i can get nearly 5 minutes of continuous gameplay if i dont touch the keyboard or mouse. Standing on one leg helped also 50% of the time. I will be running tests on holding my breath, crossing fingers, and various lucky charms to see if this helps..........results to follow

To my fellow sufferers: in my case, i noticed the blue.dll crash happening only when 4x AA is turned on (as partially indicated by another poster before me). It works without crashing on other AA settings. 2x AA is what i am running now without any crashes for several days, but the graphics quality still leaves much to be desired. And unfortunately 8x AA is too much for my comp to handle with 2 clients running at the same time.
This is a temp workaround for those with the same issue as me, and i am really hoping that this workaround would not stop CCP from FIXING THE ACTUAL PROBLEM! Please continue to bump this thread until CCP gets their head of out their ... wherever they stuck it. == Above comments are my personal views Oveur >Local shouldn't be a tactical tool, it's for chat

Update: I disabled DEP in Vista, just to see what would happen.
Instead of EVE crashing out with a DEP error, it now does the following:
Screen running EVE will start flickering (like interlaced screen on an old Amiga 500), but game remains totally playable if you can cope with the flickering. When EVE is closed, the screen stays flickering. To me that says it's doing something with the video driver.
Again, 8800GTS running latest drivers on Vista Home Premium x64, running EVE in windowed fullscreen mode (using EVELauncher). Problem persists running fullscreen mode.

Glad to find out I'm not the only one.
Checked my events monitor and figured out my EVE client has crashed 87 times since 06-12-2007. It all started out with client version 4.10.0.44942 and keeps doing it with version 4.10.0.47914. 95% of client crashes are either due to blue.dll or python25.dll... 5% rest being ntdll.dll.
It seems to be more frequent with last client version although I am not 100% affirmative but at least I have really started to notice and turn mad about it in the last 8 days (client crashes just as your gang is about to engage a bunch of hostiles anyone ? welp) I also happen to get an error message 2 times out of 3 upon closing the client. What's really annoying is that I can't really reproduce it at will, it just seems to be random, game's gonna run fine for 2 or 3 hours and all of a sudden CTD... 1 time, 2 times, 3 times within 10 minutes. Selecting an object in space could be the trigger I'll have to try and see... sure thing is I never ever crash while docked in station, only while ship is in space.
I am running XP32 PRO and have a 8800GT which I bought the day before Trinity deployment. All drivers are up to date. I have tried a fair amount of various troublseshoots allready, including but not limited to, disable any overcloaking and put all values to default, checking temperature of my various computer components in case one would be overheating, tweaked and played with various EVE display settings, etc..etc...
Since I've had frequent client crashes with other games like Crysis or more recently SoaSE which seem to be related to graphic engine too I am starting to wonder if it's not something to do with the current Nvidia drivers not functionning properly as documented by Nvidia rather than game programmers, and in the present case, CCP's programmers fault. I have seen it happen in the past with other games and would not be surprised if it was the case here.
/me goes and look around for new/beta drivers.

Edited by: Tajen Kata on 20/03/2008 01:11:06 Crysis 1.1 single player on 8800 GT should have next to no crashes on 169.25 final driver. Atleast I managed to play it through without a crash, temps were at around 80-90.
Above poster says he has frequent crashes on that game so there's possibility of hw issue.

Holy Shiiiit! i thought it was just me!!! Holy Crap i was going to buy a new computer because of all this. i was thinking "my 2004 computer just ain't able to run these new games today' even though that may be true anyways, my crashes happened to start after the new patch. barely gets me in game when zap, crash to desktop. i reinstalled my entire OS to fix this, which led to a buncha new problems now and it didn't work. the GM's were "did you update to the latest drivers? and check your BIOS," ect. Give me a break, my drivers were the same ones i used a month ago before this patch when NOTHING went wrong. I bought a new graphics card geforce 6200 (yeah i know, but it supported shaders) and thought THAT might do the trick. nope. reinstalled sound card drivers. nope. disabled sound in the game. nope. went to driver manager and disabled audio codecs and anything else that gave me a dirty look. nope. downloaded and installed upgrade to EVE Premium Graphics. Nope. Now the reason i thought it was only me is that the guys in my corp are reporting no ill problems, but there are only twenty of them and thats not indicative of whats happening to a larger part of us. i am now downloading a beta of XP service Pack 3 to see if that helps anything. a new patch Tuesday? After reading over this thread and looking into some of your bug reports it looks like there are two different issues being mentioned here:
1. the issue the OP posted about relating to 5000 series GeForce cards causing BSoD or other crashes
2. Folks with 8000 series GeForce cards are experiencing issues when AA is enabled.
I'd like to point out the following to clarify any misunderstandings:
EVE Premium does NOT support AA (Anti-Aliasing), there is no option to enable it in the premium client and enabling it on the card (driver) is known to cause issues.
AA support is planned for the future, but no specific details or dates are available about that yet. ____________________________ I break things.

Exception in Blue.dll again, 8800GT user, Only with enhanced trinity graphics enabled.
Bug report is 55403 and contains the dxdiag file and the .dmp file (stack trace, et all).
I can re-create it at will,
Approach or leave a stargate Repeatedly spam the left and right mouse buttons whilst moving the mouse around
Obviously not what I was doing when it happened but it does recreate the problem and the stack callback looks the same (though without the code, it doesn't tell me a lot of course).
