Its out, I got it, I like it.
First impressions: Homeworld 3 with a little bit of galactic civ thrown in.
Anyone else got it? What do you think if you do?

Well worth the money. Blew away what I expected from it. Some of the best multiplayer experiences I've had in a very very long time.

Aye, I love it. I'm normally not really hooked on RTS games, but this one got a nice pace for my taste. I'm an Galactic Civ fan, to start with, so that might be one of the reasons I love this one.
Story? There's not. Well, there's an intro, but no campaign. Just to clear it up for people who really wants that. It's a strategy game, and quite epic one at that. The AI is quite entertaining, so it will not be sooo boring in single player, but I think it's main drive is surely in multiplayer. Hah, the AI is a bit tricky, it rushed me in my first game, I just sat there staring at my **** blowing up and could only think of one thing: Revenge! Next game was a bit more fun and lasted a whole night.

Played it last nite .. tought it was 11pm when I quitted but it was closer to 2am . Man was I liek zombie this morning.
Anyhow, excellent game and that has similar feeling to EVE:
* Trader Emergency Coalition looks like Minmatar (and they are underdogs) and their guns are projectiles.
* The Advent is just like Amarr (except their Laser guns actually hurt). Religious nutjobs with amarr-like ships and ideology.
* The Vasari is like .. well gallente. Odd to everyone and ships looks alienish.
Having Advent Battleship @ lvl9 brings some pain to poor TEC

Pre-Order beta and now retail, frankly i love it.
Haven't played online that much yet with retail, want to get to know all the sides better in larger solo games first. But sofar i'm blown away by the polish the retail game has. (and the last Beta was already pretty amazing, this is several steps beyond that)
If you're unsure if you want to buy the game, a Demo is planned for march, so you can safely try it out for free then.

Its a good game at 1st but gets very boring fast & takes so long to start up again.
am more a fan of C&C's & homeworld as you could mass bigger armys in shorter amount of time.
in a nut shell - if you have hours to kill to make up a base of ships this is for you.

Well essentially Sins is a real-time interpretation of a 4X game, and those are always slow to start, you need to do a little empire building first to get the war machine rolling. That's what is at the core of those type of games.
To each his own ofcourse, but i may add that IronClad have announced to add a considerably faster game mode in the next patch. (which according to them, should be out this week) That way the game should be more playable if you are short on time. Personally i prefer the normal game speed, since i like a reasonably slow pace in my games.

Well after looking at the screenshots and game features it looks like a simpler version of EVE meets space Empires, I'm downloading it now but unless it's as in depth as these then I'll probably be disapointed.

i quite like it though ive only played sandbox vs the pirates to get a grip. and i could only manage to build 1 cap ship + support.
still allot to learn.

At the chance of sounding like an Stardock employee.. Hehe, actually, I got an old T-shirt with "Stardock" on, but that's from back in late 90' from some OS/2 conference.. Hmm, time passes.. Ohh well..

It's a nice thing they also did with Galactic Civilization, a simple walkthrough of how a game could be, with a bit of extra descriptions and a few gameplay tips.
In lack of a demo, this could probably give one a pretty clear picture if it's a game to order instantly or just ignore.

Very cool game - dint have time to play eve yesterday
because i had to play this game.
I made my own giant map, and i think i took like
10 min for the ships to go from one sys to another
but overall its a nice game - It reminds me of that Star wars: galatic war or something like that.

I am buying it tomorrow. Damnit, too many games need to be played grrr. JADE, you can buy it online via download (don't know why people call it "digital download", name one thing you download analog rofl). It's also $5 cheaper as well.
Btw, if you are not to sure about the game, check out the videos on www.gametrailers.com. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but many homeworld fans will probably like it I think.

o man i am having a lot of fun with this. i really like the pace of the game it gives it the feeling like, nothing is to late you always have a chance to stem the tide.
heh i love it when the enemy is bombarding a colony and just when they think they have the upper hand i jump in with my armada of capitals, cruisers and missile frigs. hehe if only i could see the look on their face.

Great game. It's like a non-MMO Eve Online, the best thing is that in there I don't have to wait 18 hours before a fleet fight begins......
