Yes Mittani, yes I did, and I imagine that means I'd make a damned poor goon I suspect. What a shame but I believe the disappointment will pass in time.
The "one-liner" / meme-joke / perl letter script / throwaway pop-culture-theft-mechanics endlessly propagated down the goon hierarchy from the leaders to the drones and practiced as mono-cultural "passports" to goon e-respect and virtual esteem really have no compelling attraction to me beyond pure anthropomorphic curiosity Mittani. I'm sure you can understand that dear chap, but thank you for quoting the whole of my posts so reliably, it really does make me feel very special.
For the rest however, allow me to explain:
The TL:DR meme is something I consider as a hostile thought-virus resident as a parasite in the goon body politic and I take great pleasure flying in the face of your conventional "wisdom" on these matters. You chaps bring your memes and faux witticisms as the ancient conquistadors brought ailments and plague to isolated civilizations to kill them as surely as their swords and guns. (And all the while you hand out glittering but worthless trinkets of "e-praise" and "madprops" to those natives that greet you with welcome arms and happy animal faces even as they dig their own graves in witless mimicry of invader fashions)
"TL:DR" is the most common of trinkets - thoughtlessly repeated by those hoping to get "in" with the perceived "in crowd" and yet a fully obvious element in the process of cross-cultural suicide in all its gory slasher slow motion action. To accept the TL:DR trinket is to lobotomize yourself so you can better "fit in" to a dumbed down society lacking in wit and attention-span itself. Its fascinating to see which characters realize the dangers of this contamination in time to arrest its spread and which simply surrender to the inevitability of mono-cultural assimilation.
I trust that makes my thoughts clear on the matter

Not that week, not the next...but TWO mths into getting sov 3 and having a good time out in 0.0 chasing ISK farmers and reds.... Goon comes along and tells us to leave to face obliteration. So tell me Goon, how in the hell is it you want to get people into 0.0?? Oh wait is it so you can extort ISK from them? Let them spend thier ISK to build a station then YOU come along and take it? Please elaborate on how your actions in empire are a "helpful way to get people into 0.0"
How can anyone be this naive? Blue standings doesn't equal squatting rights.
Yea what were you thinking ffs it was BOB who had pets in their space, ragoon require and insist on slaves.

He said slaves not soldiers. Which part about blues don't just get the right to dump POS where ever they like without even asking? I know people think goons are stupid and all but do you really think that is a good model for cooperation on any level? The fact that you don't even respect an ally enough to talk to them about dropping sov claiming POS in a part of space they fought like hell to claim is a pretty good indictment of your hubris and lack of character.

Originally by: Jade Constantine That really is the question isnÆt it Baxalusx?
I mean, I strongly suspect I (and all like me) are ôbeneath the noticeö of the Swarm since we donÆt play the POS spam/settlement/indestructible outpost game in 0.0 space. That of course means weÆll never lose a system full of POS due to you crashing a node or loading up bookmarks in shuttles or attacking with 10,000 starter frigates. All weÆll ever do is fly around in warships avoiding the lagfests and preying on your civilians and weaker members and shooting them in the head when we get the chance while fading away and hiding from any organized army many times our number.
Must be frustrating right? And a real nightmare to fight of course since if you actually wanted to ôfiscally annihilateö us youÆd have to learn how to fight properly and construct decent skirmish gangs, learn to track targets, develop some decent empire reach, use wardecs, suppression, dirty tricks, basically û fight a war quite differently from the spoonfed roll into a system, lag the whole place and replace some dead pos with your own and wave a flag before declaring ôvictoryö pattern you are accustomed too.
Or you could pretend that we ôdonÆt matterö that the war has already been ôwonö against such marginal threats and incidental hostiles. Maybe you should ignore all such posts on CAOD because they come from an ôirrelevantö source? (Admittedly ôignoringö doesnÆt have the same ring to it as ôround up all the anarchists and free-thinkers and intellectuals and performance artists and execute them tomorrow morningö and I can see how the chief goon passing the orders back through the ranks for a mass ôturn the other cheekö from the laughing crowd is going to lack a certain element of ... well gravitas really, but those are the breaks.)
So where does that leave us? Now I could be wrong (itÆs possible) but running the numbers and a very quick analysis shows that while itÆs true, my organisation (and likely another 20 like it) couldnÆt possibly threaten your towers and 0.0 dominion, neither could you with your huge numerical advantage (summoned by the lauded goon charismatic leadership and SA levies) actually achieve anything against us.
Damn, thatÆs something of a stalemate then, means that while militarily weÆre irrelevant to you its just the same in reverse. Military confrontation then isnÆt really the battleground of use to us here. I wonder if your vaunted ômass-subscription charismatic leadershipö can achieve anything where direct numerical confrontation doesnÆt decide the issue? You know, in something like a conflict of ideas, of dreams, of ideals, of ambitions, you know û all the finer things of life?
IÆll leave you a while to ponder this Baxalusx (and IÆve finished my morning coffee now in any case), but makes you think, no? Perhaps the great confrontation of our time is not going to be in space since the massively asymmetrical nature of the confrontation makes decisive engagement impossible. Perhaps it is about ideas and debate, about rhetoric and persuasion, about imagination and intellect and sparkling prose? Maybe the true test of your ôgreat charismatic mass movement leadershipö is not in assembling vast node-crashing fleets but in vanquishing ideological challenges to the goon mono culture in visceral verbal combat in the sphere of public opinion.
Terrifying of course for a ôleaderö accustomed only in persuading obedience from brain-wired-from-birth goon legions to engage a wider audience of individuals and free thinkers, but honestly, maybe thatÆs what it takes to stop the crowds throwing rotten fruit and laughing uproariously every time the goons come to town?
Just a thought for you to begin your day old chap, enjoy.

Dear Jade Constantine,
In virtually every post you make about us, you comment about our lack of originality. I've noticed that you have difficulties in this area yourself, so I have a couple of suggestions.
1. Stop writing like a stereotypical roleplayer. I've never understood why it's common for rpers to make every statement a soliloquy. You take this common trait to a higher level and beat it to death. My suggestion? Be original, try something new instead of following the herd.
2. You love to claim that we're a bunch of meme-spouting morons (and it's quite ironic how accusing your opponents of such a thing has become a meme in itself), yet you're hopelessly addicted to shouting that we use bookmark bombs, crash nodes, t1 frig nubs, etc. Again, this is unoriginal. You'd think you could find something more interesting than the tired old saws.
3. Quit whining about the "level of discourse" on COAD. COAD is exactly like any real-world summit event except that it's a bit coarser and occasionally funny. COAD is another part of the power game. You can accept that and adapt or you can whine, as you do, and look foolish. Hell, whining about COAD definitely isn't original. Scrapheap has a cult of "not being COAD" which usually translates into passive-aggressive flaming as opposed to open flaming, but that's a bit irrelevant. Remind me how you're oh so original when you do the same things as a website whose unofficial motto is "We're not COAD!"?
Wow, this is long. Buttes, donges, etc. Get a new routine because you're a laughingstock.

You would make a really poor marketing rep. Lots o' words; little content.
You do realize, though, that people assimilate to stereotypical groups in all aspects of life, be it internet spaceships, jobs, sports, what-have-you... Yet you use this very human and nearly humanly universal characteristic as an insult to the Goons as if the way in which we are stereotyped is in some way more real and more horrible than any other stereotypical group of people or personality types.
The fact is we are all pretty like-minded individuals, be it in what we find humorous, how we want to play internet spaceships and how we want to behave around each other to achieve those desires. We enjoy each other, we enjoy the memes. Sorry you do not, but we are not here to make you and your stereotypical group happy, we are here for ourselves. We happen to have Goon-specific memes and jokes that the a lot of people in the game use as an attempt to insult us, yet without we would just be in some other stereotypical group; perhaps one you find less annoying or insulting, but one none-the-less. You can point out how above us you believe you are because of our very apparent cultural differences, but we really don't care. It isn't insulting to us, it defines us.
All I can say is if you don't have such a cultural bond with the people you play this internet spaceship game with, I'm sorry. Maybe your stereotypical group gets off on making psychological assessments on CAOD, and that's cool. But we LOL at you as you do us, so if you are truly concerned with our culture and really want to make your point the best way to do that is to shove off because all you're doing with your posts is feeding our hunger to use "throwaway pop-culture-theft-mechanics." Lawlz.

Baxalusx, your actually roleplaying yourself every time to step into Eve. Roleplaying a large alliance trying to obtain power over virtual space, roleplaying politics, roleplaying spaceship combat.
You are obviously ignorant of the subject matter, so best keep it shut.
I often times make "motorboat-esque" noises while piloting MY INCURSUS. I'm fairly confident this is what my internet spaceship sounds like from within the*****pit, having already trained Engineering to 2! Anyway, it really helps me get into the game and experience it on a whole new level. Is this what you mean by "roleplaying spaceship combat"? If not, how may I improve upon it? tia.

Because more words obviously automatically becomes some kind of amazing jeu d'esprit and who could argue with so many words? "yes, yes, all these words are excellently placed and in such fashion I cannot disagree!" Go and read the comments for some of VenomFangX's youtube videos; you don't even need a good argument to impress an idiot. Do you prefer people not demean your posts with 'qft' equivalents or do you enjoy the self-gratuity? Yes! Yes! Give me your quotes I say I love them!
I agree, you probably should disregard the old writing golden rule of 'good writing is easy reading' when you need to disguise your worthless vapidity with verbosity.

I just found your quote's source... If you're reading Jade's textual diarrhea, you're doing this wrong. (In response to Zorlag above, I think the troll patrol corrupted Mittani rather than vice versa.)

Nobody cares who you think are the "worst type of people in EVE". Nobody even knows what being the worst type of people in EVE constitutes - worst at what, or in relation to what? Aside from that, calling GS the "statistically safest option" is just a blatant display of stupidity as it should be quite obvious to anyone that GS is not the statistically safest option. ---------
