Interesting that CCP chose to lock the thread where people complained about a wide variety of file corruption problems and keep the one where people complained about shuttles.
For the record, this patch screwed my Vista. I had to repair from the installation disk. -- Remember, Concord doesn't provide safety, or even consequences |

If you're using Firefox, I got this too. I had to go to Tools > Options > Show Cookies, and delete all my eve-online.com cookies (www.eve-online.com, myeve, and srch.eve-online.com). Then, I had to go to Exceptions and change the above sites from Blocked to Allow (one at a time). Firefox gets fussy about cross-domain cookies occasionally. __ Rorqual AKA Mega Maid

Originally by: CCP Wrangler The NPC corporations selling shuttles created a price cap on tritanium, as reported in our second EconDev Blog, which has been removed with this change. Shuttle blueprints are of course available in every station.
Too bad not every station has manufacturing facilities.

Patch works fine. No immediate issues for the 3 different systems it was installed on. Kudos to CCP devs for being responsive in the patch thread .... much better than the last 1.1 debacle.
Unfortunately, the biggest nag for me, drone window still resets and snaps to the overview in 1680x1050. Shouldn't this have been a simple fix to implement?
P.S Lol at the shuttles. Thank goodness I'd already bought and ME researched my own BPO weeks ago :)

game wount start since patch. When i tried to start the game after patching i got some wierd message saying game was moving offensive (can't remember for sure if the word was offensive, but it was something simular) files to some other directory. And when tried to start again after the reboot it asked for the game instantly closes, i see the splash screen for alot less than a second. Hate patching now :(
And you realy need give every ship a shuttle cargo bay or something, so that you can actualy bring one along when you're moving ships. Gonna be a serious pain otherwise [This space for rent]

Because making players poorer through direct action from CCP would go down so much smoother?
It's been done many times in the past, why should this be treated any different.
Inconveniencing your entire playerbase till the end of timce, 'cause someone "might" have a million shuttles sitting in his hangar isn't very smart I'm afraid.
Originally by: CCP Gangleri
The technicalities do not matter anymore, the deed is done. It was given thought and executed. There is no longer a cap on Tritanium price, there is more stuff for players to play the market with. These effects are both a huge benefit to the players, the downside is that shuttles are not available is every NPC station, I'd say the pros outweigh the cons quite heavily.
Yeah I'm sure there'll be plenty scammers "playing the market", I get to pay more for pretty much everything (which isn't so bad, the cap had to go) it'll take me longer to get anywhere AND while logistics always have been a PITA in EVE it just got a lot worse.
Why couldn't you just make them refine into nothing while leaving the production requirements alone. I doubt anyone would complain even if they had a shuttle in EVERY station! If someone stockpiled millions of shuttles to play the resource market they had it coming anyay.

I was a little put off by the nuisance factor of the shuttle change, but thinking about it more, between podflying, player-supplied shuttles, and the NPC-supplied T1 frigs available at many stations, this isn't going to be very much of an inconvenience at all.
Of course, that last thing kind of throws a wrench into some of the other arguments being given here about the economics. (i.e., the people saying that they couldn't have just raised the price of shuttles or lowered their trit output because that would just be putting a new floor in place.)
But I don't care much about that, even though it should be a much bigger deal to me. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Here is a shocking idea for you CCP, make Rookie Ships available on the market for 100 ISK. Gives people a ship to play with if they want to travel in something other than a capsule, and doesn't affect mineral economies.

Science & Industry Screen settings define by user, i have bug reported it before and was classifyed has been fixed in 1.2... still buged just like before... already updated the bug report...
Overview and fleet windows still mess around with each other (yeah just like before). Fleet window keeps on insisting to go under overview pushing the selected item window out of the screen... Docking and undock will reset the selected overview filter (yeah just like before) Cargo n scanner window auto-pops up when u jump through a gate up if u have close it by pressing the their boutton, if instead u pressing the X in the window it will stay closed
If CCP does have anyone in QA, please fire them and hire some ppl that actuly know how to test things.

Originally by: ZaKma This is broken if the cargo is in a stack. The cargo closes, but the stack remains open thus leaving you with a unusable empty stack.
Both issues have been fixed internally, will be released in a later patch.

Edited by: Kerfira on 15/04/2008 22:22:01 Actually there's nothing bad about the decision to make shuttles a player created item.
As other people has said, if you really need a <small ship> to zip around in, just dock in a station where you have no ships stored, and you'll get a new noob ship. Or you can just fly in your pod.
What's MUCH more interesting is how this'll affect the trit prices. I don't think it'll be a lot, but consider this..... Every shuttle ever sold from NPC sellers eventually ends up in one of three ways: 1. Abandoned in space or a hangar somewhere 2. Blown up 3. Refined My guess is the vast majority ends up as #3. This means there'll now be less trit 'produced' (even though nobody intentionally did so), but I don't think it'll be really noticeable (think the amount is not significant).
Another issue is that this removes an ISK sink from the game. While probably not a significant one either, it'd be interesting to hear from Dr. whatever-his-name-is (the economy guy) what the exact numbers were for this and trit (at least in percentages).

Market Quickbar working as it should - thanks for that, it was a nightmare selling 300+ items and the order to be all jumbled up.
Can you please restore the Export to File and Buy Order buttons back to the middle bar between the Sell and Buy Orders, they are too low down the screen now, and interfere with hanger and other windows.
Can we also please have a shortcut key capability for the 'Export to File' button, under health and safety to prevent carpel tunnel / RSI??
Thanks.
p.s. hope the trit price doesn't rocket in price, i have hungry children to feed, i'm just a poor trader/industrialist.....:( ************************************************** Maker of the finest Scottish drones and ammo...all combined with Active Peat Camouflage (tm) -- so dark, you won't see them coming!! |

I believe that the mass*inertia modifier of a rookie frig is about 3 times that of a shuttle, and something like 40% higher than that of a Rifter, meaning worse align times - for low-sec, I really don't like flying in a pod though it's an option, and I'd rather have a shuttle than a rookie frig for align times. However, if leaving NPC production of shuttles out of the economy is best, I'm sure we can all work around it, and really isn't directly bad in any way.
I would prefer that the packaged size of shuttles be reduced down to 100 m3 or less to reduce the inconvenience though, and as the 2500 trit in a shuttle only takes 25 m3 in raw form, a reduction in packaged shuttle size down to something larger than 25 m3 shouldn't have any economic impact other than making transportation of shuttles a little easier for the new player shuttle market right?

I understand the economics, but why guys, you could have just doubled the NPC cost of shuttles, or lowered the refine amount.
You really think making shuttles double cost would make or lose anyone a fortune? I HIGHLY doubt anyone has that many shuttles.
Compare this to the vast inconvenience of not having shuttles in NPC stations anymore.
Also, you have not removed the cap from trit, you just moved it to a different item so whatever.
EDIT: If this was any other NPC good I wouldn't care, but shuttles are insanely useful and sometimes needed in totally obscure places where no one would ever seed a market. So honestly this change just plain sucks.
EDIT #2: Also "the deed is done" , you guys have a downtime EVERY DAY. Re-seed them LOL.
