I'm getting a small (but annoying) bug, when opening and closing the cargo and scanner using the new toggleable buttons on the UI, then performing a stargate jump, the windows pop back open again.
I'll petition it when I can reproduce it perfectly.

Dissapointed that some of the partial balance tweaks from Booster 1.1 patch have not been completed in this patch. Namely the Apoc changes that were not carried over to the Navy Apoc & Paladin... but also the expected Laser balance efficientcy tweaks. (cap/cpu/grid)
I understand the wisdom in not tweaking everything in one go - but here's hoping that the rest of the Amarr fixes come in very soon.
Navy Apoc, Paladin, Curse & Laser fixes ASAP pls!

Quote: The ship cargo button in the HUD should now close the cargo hold window if it is already open.
This is broken if the cargo is in a stack. The cargo closes, but the stack remains open thus leaving you with a unusable empty stack.

Have you run log server and then submitted a bug report.
A number of people have complained about this but we have had 1 Bug Report submitted about it when I checked yesterday.
We do not have perfect reproduction on this and any further information that you can supply would help.

My windows are still repositioning themeslves.
Drone window atatches itself to the selection window on undock. This happens regardless of the lock window positions setting in the general settings tab.
The selections window itself shifts to the left slightly on undock also about, 20cm (1280x1024 screen res)
As a note, my neocom is on the right of the screen not the left and is not expanded, plus i reuse my _.dat files whenever there is a patch. Im assuming lots of other people do this so they dont have to keep inputting there pc settings, window settings etc.
It wasnt much of a problem before the tabbed overview because there were no bracket settings. Now im reluctant to start from scratch because that means putting back not just the overview settings, but the tab settings and the bracket settings for each tab which is anoying if you have all 5 tabs setup which i do.
I havnt tested the fleet window opening yet, but the same went for those repositioning before the patch. I did notice this only happened when you were forming a fleet in space (which is most of the time) it didnt reposition for me anytime when it was created while docked.
A corp member is also reporting that the drone window still dissapears for a period of time while launching, but it didnt reposition itself. They run default positions.
The repositioning is the only issue i have a problem with and was hoping it would be sorted but alas not. /me is sadened.

This is a PITA.
Or just double the price of NPC-shuttles. I'm assuming most people don't care if it's 9k or 18k per shuttle if they get easy traveling in return for it and it'd put the cap at 7.2 (although there are probably other refinable objects for sale with a lower cap, I'm not certain of that). Should it come to 7.2 then just up the price of Shuttles again...
Would fit in with the backstory as well, just say it's a pricecorrection due to the high tritanium prices (they'd even be right!).
Saying that it would otherwise give people who had already bought a gazillion shuttles an unfair advantage surprises me. If you 'secretly' up the prices of shuttles, like you did now, it wouldn't have mattered much unless people working for CCP knew of it beforehand and used it make their own characters wealthier... but nothing has stopped them from doing that now either

There was no other way to remove the cap on Trit prices.
The change to mineral composition that would have removed the cap would be a decrease in the trit in shuttles, thus causing people with a lot of shuttles lose money, which seems fair if you're hoarding a bunch of shuttles for some reason... putting NPC shuttles back in for the old price but halving or quartering the minerals in shuttles may be worth considering if shuttles become too rare/expensive to be used much like this - just give warning for that change so that anyone that's trying to sell shuttles now can reprocess before hand, as at this point it was their trit to begin with.
Or... any chance of reducing packaged shuttle size to something like 100 m3 so even a frig could carry one? Moving multiple ships to a destination that doesn't have shuttles available could get painful if none of the ships you're moving can carry a shuttle to make the return trip in.
Pretty sure that doesn't even let you compress trit by building shuttles if it's 100m3, so I can't see any major issues offhand with this solution.

Good point. Will be interesting to see how quickly players move in to fill the supply gap, how many people start using substitute goods (condors etc). Hope to see figures in the next econ blog ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |

The minimum price for gallente shuttles is now 75k in essence
which does not make any sense as the raw materials is around 9k!
I'll expect the price to settle to around 15k, once I get manufacturing later!

RE: shuttles
Make all NPC-sold items trade goods that fluctuate in price, similar to all other trade goods. Even if some NPC item becomes a cap-inducing product, it can't stay cap-inducing forever. People will figure it out, buy more, and cause the price to rise. Simple economic solution to the NPC goods problem, no? |

Its more than that. It means there is no artificial limit to Tritanium (previously set to around 3.5isk per unit) as you could always by NPC shuttles and reproc them for minerals.
Thus Tritanium, the core component for well pretty much anything, can and probably will rocket in price.

No other way? I agree with the stated reasons of course, but - what about making the NPC sell price on shuttles higher? I mean, 30k, 100k, whatever. There's still a cap, but if a shuttle cost 100k then the cap would be something like 40 isk/trit. I don't think we'd ever have a problem with that! (if we did, change it again - or control inflation :)
Bit weird to have them so expensive, but it makes sense - you are paying a hefty "convenience fee" for having NPC corps always stock them in every station.
I'm not really too upset about just removing them completely, but surely this is "another way"? If there would've been something equally wrong with this, I'm curious what it is.

Because making players poorer through direct action from CCP would go down so much smoother?
The technicalities do not matter anymore, the deed is done. It was given thought and executed. There is no longer a cap on Tritanium price, there is more stuff for players to play the market with. These effects are both a huge benefit to the players, the downside is that shuttles are not available is every NPC station, I'd say the pros outweigh the cons quite heavily.

I wonder what this will do to the market as a whole. With the demand for minerals only increasing as new players pour in, it might really kick up Trit prices, which previously were stuck at 3.6 ISK. With that limitation gone, Trit prices will skyrocket, making essentialy everything more expensive. Eventually I geuss people will produce items that have less need for Tritanium (by comparison) and then the other minerals prices will increase, which is good, because Isogen and Nocxium at such low prices ain't good. ------------------------

Newbies will start mining Veldspar as the most profitable ore in Empire, and they'll make money that's a little bit more in line with what the vets are making from advanced T2 manufacturing or what not.
Tritanium is a pain to haul, not a pain to mine. The price of it will reflect how much of a pain it is to haul in the quantities that are needed for ships. Currently there's a huge demand, because anyone who needed it for manufacture could get it, already in their station, from shuttles, and now it must be mined.
Once the traders finish 0.01-ISKing themselves to a stable price, things will proceed as normal, I think.

Another factor about the shuttles that hasn't been mentioned here (but was propably thought of by CCP) is that shuttles are so cheap, players consider them to be disposable, one-use ships. As a result, they can be found abandoned throughout space, cluttering up the spaceways. I should know, I've been nicking them whenever and wherever I came across them.
Hopefully this change will alter people's perception of the shuttles and take more care of them. |

After finally applying the patch and playing for a good five minutes, I can say the following:
# The open/close cargohold toggle is broken, as a closed cargohold window will pop open again when you jump through a stargate.
# Running two or more clients and then alt-tabbing between them is even more likely to cause a crash than it did before the patch. I've had two crashes in the last five minutes alone.
# I decided trying to run a mission, and a window popped up marked "Important Information", telling me that my agent would be unhappy if I turned down his mission or failed to meet the deadline for it. Were any changes made to the accepting/declining of missions with the new patch? |

Well, the cons of changing the mins distribution would have been negligible. Yes, hoarders of shuttles would have lost a bit (when changing 4 trit to 1 pyer, 16 trit to 1 mex and so one...) as the trit-price is as high at the moment, but this is their own risk. Removing shuttles completly from the NPC-market is in my eyes a bad decision, as it removes one of the advantages of shuttles, which is the price and the availibility. For most manufacturers shuttles just don¦t bring enough profit, specially with the long production time (same as frigates). So i would be surprised, if we would find any reasonable priced shuttles in 1-2 months outside of market hubs.

Yeah I'm sure there'll be plenty scammers "playing the market", I get to pay more for pretty much everything (which isn't so bad, the cap had to go) it'll take me longer to get anywhere AND while logistics always have been a PITA in EVE it just got a lot worse.
Why couldn't you just make them refine into nothing while leaving the production requirements alone. I doubt anyone would complain even if they had a shuttle in EVERY station! If someone stockpiled millions of shuttles to play the resource market they had it coming anyay.

I was a little put off by the nuisance factor of the shuttle change, but thinking about it more, between podflying, player-supplied shuttles, and the NPC-supplied T1 frigs available at many stations, this isn't going to be very much of an inconvenience at all.
Of course, that last thing kind of throws a wrench into some of the other arguments being given here about the economics. (i.e., the people saying that they couldn't have just raised the price of shuttles or lowered their trit output because that would just be putting a new floor in place.)
But I don't care much about that, even though it should be a much bigger deal to me. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

As other people has said, if you really need a <small ship> to zip around in, just dock in a station where you have no ships stored, and you'll get a new noob ship. Or you can just fly in your pod.
What's MUCH more interesting is how this'll affect the trit prices. I don't think it'll be a lot, but consider this..... Every shuttle ever sold from NPC sellers eventually ends up in one of three ways: 1. Abandoned in space or a hangar somewhere 2. Blown up 3. Refined My guess is the vast majority ends up as #3. This means there'll now be less trit 'produced' (even though nobody intentionally did so), but I don't think it'll be really noticeable (think the amount is not significant).
Another issue is that this removes an ISK sink from the game. While probably not a significant one either, it'd be interesting to hear from Dr. whatever-his-name-is (the economy guy) what the exact numbers were for this and trit (at least in percentages).

Market Quickbar working as it should - thanks for that, it was a nightmare selling 300+ items and the order to be all jumbled up.
Can you please restore the Export to File and Buy Order buttons back to the middle bar between the Sell and Buy Orders, they are too low down the screen now, and interfere with hanger and other windows.
Can we also please have a shortcut key capability for the 'Export to File' button, under health and safety to prevent carpel tunnel / RSI??
Thanks.

I believe that the mass*inertia modifier of a rookie frig is about 3 times that of a shuttle, and something like 40% higher than that of a Rifter, meaning worse align times - for low-sec, I really don't like flying in a pod though it's an option, and I'd rather have a shuttle than a rookie frig for align times. However, if leaving NPC production of shuttles out of the economy is best, I'm sure we can all work around it, and really isn't directly bad in any way.
I would prefer that the packaged size of shuttles be reduced down to 100 m3 or less to reduce the inconvenience though, and as the 2500 trit in a shuttle only takes 25 m3 in raw form, a reduction in packaged shuttle size down to something larger than 25 m3 shouldn't have any economic impact other than making transportation of shuttles a little easier for the new player shuttle market right?

This doesn't make sense since most of them are down in the negative values already. Their timers were not reset with the patch. If they go another 30 days then they will be -35. They technically should pop after the next scheduled downtime as the timer would see a negative value and remove them.

To be totally honest, Removing NPC sell orders for shuttles is, I think, the BEST thing to happen to the Eve since I started playing.
It totally frees up the market, and, a PvPer like I am, it can make Pirating more profitable, Lowsec more profitable, 0.0 more fun (More miners go gank YEA!).
Overall, I think this is a very monumental, and GOOD change --

Since the patch all our Alliance POS's are shooting at other corps in the alliance. This did NOT happen yesterday. For example Corp A and Corp B both have towers in a system. Corp A member warps to Corp B's tower to a bookmark INSIDE the shields. Hes completely fine. He warps anywhere OUTSIDE the shields and the tower fires on him.
First think I thought was standings but derived standings for corps in same alliance I thought was +10. So just in case Corp A change standings to alliance to +10 to make sure. No change....guns are still firing on corps in the alliance if your outside shields but you can safely warp into the shields and out somewhere else. Please confirm this.....this is fairly serious.

Lowsec won't be more profitable. Trit prices will go up, and minerals like Nocx and Isogen will go down in price.
There will be more profit and WAYYYY less risk mining in highsec than in lowsec, and this is a major problem. Now Recruiting. Join "Neogen" channel for details

I second this, it was something i noticed before this patch and did work before 1.1.
Havnt tried it recently i thought it might be my client or something

That's actually a very good point. The fixed (high) amounts paid out by insurance puts a floor on the overall mineral prices.
Just another reason EVE has outrun the need for the current insurance system. It really should be removed or at least restricted heavily.

I think if you try to undock from a station where you have no ships, you get a free rookie ship, which warps at 3.0 au/s instead of 6, goes half the speed of a shuttle out of warp and aligns much more slowly (as well as generally looking rather ugly).
When moving ships around to a new location, not having shuttles everywhere is a major blow. People are just going to have to warp around in pods, which are even slower than rookie ships iirc. My research services Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant stats |

Major whine (not just this poster)....
If this is a 'Major Blow', then honestly you need a sense of perspective.
How is this in any way different from not having any other ship type available when you want it????
This is a GOOD change: 1. It removes an artificial ceiling on one mineral price. 2. It expands the opportunities for budding builders. 3. It reduces the amount of Trit artificially inserted into the economy. 4. It doesn't really affect anyone (noob ships are still free).
...lots of whining over nothing....

Actually it just makes Empire more profitable then low-sec. Also, no one mines trit in 0.0, so really unless your a Macro miner or suicide ganker this change is actually a negative.
On top of that it will create logistical nightmares, thus is the end you will actually end up paying more for your goods which means LESS pvp not more.

Originally by: Kerfira This means there'll now be less trit 'produced' (even though nobody intentionally did so), but I don't think it'll be really noticeable (think the amount is not significant).
I did the maths for this in another thread, based on Q42007 QEN data. Came out at about 2 billion units of trit per month assuming every shuttle bought ends up being refined, with the same again in increased demand assuming players step in to supply all previous shuttle demand. While that sounds a lot, it's actually only 0.5% of monthly traded volume, so I wouldn't expect to see drastic effects.
Originally by: Kerfira Another issue is that this removes an ISK sink from the game. While probably not a significant one either, it'd be interesting to hear from Dr. whatever-his-name-is (the economy guy) what the exact numbers were for this and trit (at least in percentages).
Again, taking from the Q42007 QEN, my estimate was approx 800k shuttles per month (which is likely to be on the high side). At 9000 isk per shuttle that works out at sinking 7.2 billion isk per month.
Taking figures from the Q32007 QEN (the most recent I could find), suggests that isk sinks were consuming an average of 365 billion isk per day. Assuming a 30 day month, that means isk is sunk at a rate of 10,950 billion isk per month. Making the shuttle isk sink just 0.066% of all isk being sunk. So I can't see it's removal having a significant effect. |

Bingo. the only thing this does is complicate the math because of the base prices of the other minerals in the other items needs to be takein into account. . . oh wait! I can script a spread sheet to do EXACTLY THAT FOR ME!
and the floor remains the "Insurance fraud" price.
So the net efect is Shifting the cap to something else, and removeing a minor cash sink in the game. . . Except that now something else will function as that cash sink

>>> NPC corporations will no longer be selling shuttles. <<<
I have mixed feelings about this development. While I think I prefer a player driven economy I think doing this to shuttles as a "fix" to another problem only creates more problems than it fixes
Pros: 1. It makes shuttles a player driven commodity. 2. Removes the price cap on Tritanium
Cons: 1 It makes shuttles a player driven commodity. This is a problem because in the more empty areas of high sec and low sec there will be no shuttles for sale anywhere for any price. In a sense, its a stealth nerf to low sec. 2. It further contrains public manufacturing of goods. 3. This is perceived by the MMO community as a whole as a bad short sighted "nerf" in the sense that there were better solutuions to the problem that would both fix the problem and not create a new one.
My suggestions for the shuttle fix.
1. Double the NPC price of shuttles. 18,000 isk is still very trivial even to a 1 month player. This alone would fix the Trit cap unless of course the price pushed to 7 isk per. 2. Cut the refine of shuttles by 50%. This keeps the price cheap as before but makes the refine/isk ratio bad enough to discourage reprocessing. 3. Reduce npc sell orders to 1. This makes buying shuttles in bulk to be a chore.
I would say #1 is the best solution. Just double the price of shuttles and be done with it.

Speak for yourself only please. I don't think anyone appointed you 'Head of the MMO community'. I know I for sure didn't elect you to speak for me.
There are a few people complaining over this, but by and large the most players I've spoken to are either "Yay! About time!", "Yes, I'm making money!" or "Meh..." about this. It's a small, logical change, and if combined with the removal of other refinable NPC items and removal/restriction on insurance will have a nice positive effect on the player driven market.

*sigh*
They could at least add a 'shuttle bay' to ships though. It always seemed kinda strange that these hulking warships don't have room for even a single 'local errands' shuttle in them. That way people wouldn't use shuttles to move around ore but one could still carry a single ship with them.
Hrmm.. maybe add a small hanger (maintance bays were they called?) to every ship larger then a cruiser? just big enough to fit a single shuttle?

Unless the item database has outdated information on shuttles (doubtful), shuttles contain 2500 trit and no other minerals, which takes up 25 m3 - that should mean that any packaged size for shuttles that is at least 25 m3 won't present a way to compress trit for transportation in a normal cargo hold... hmm, ugh, do ship maintainence bays on carriers present a problem here? I don't know how well you can pack trit into that space currently.

Instead of changing the price or the ammount of trit which would only affect the ones who exploit this, the shuttles are removed completely which affects everyone who gets stuck on a station far out... Yep, and flying in low sec in my egg or the slow noob ship is so much better than in a shuttle, or isn't it? Call it what you will, but to me it's just another stupid nerf. And as a consequence I will probably stay inside the empire where I at least won't get shot fun.

The 1.2 patch has completely ruined my installation on my MacBook. I patched from a clean install (download from a fortnight ago) and now I just get a black screen and background music when I run eve.
Next step will be to re-download the new client and see if that will run.

I don't know how well you can pack trit into that space currently.
25m3 for a shuttle sounds fair. That would satisify the need to carry around a 'local errand runabout' type ship.
newbie frigates won't fit the bill since you can't repackage them and thus can't carry them with you. Sure you could generate one but that seems like a bit of a hack and is pretty unrealistic/unelegent. |

The Bug Handler filter is not working. I have been submitting BRs for weeks since the 1.1 patch that contain large amounts of diagnostic information on the graphics resets, client crashes, and system lockups that having been plaguing myself and many other players (see this thread, the Windows blog, etc.). Not one has made it to the developers.
The game is currently very nearly unplayable if one is a trader because there is clearly a thread problem in the Market. I provide the following diagnostics as a last hope that something will be done before I have to quit the game.
(1) It happens for both Windows Vista and XP but seems to be worse for Vista. (2) Most (but not all) players with simlar problems are using NVIDIA 8700 or 8800 cards with current drivers, DirectX10, and passing DxDiag. (3) Running dual monitors or an external monitor from a laptop seem to drastically increase the frequency. (4) Premium graphics makes no difference. (5) The problem started with the 1.1 patch; I and others never had the problem prior to that. In 1.1 there were several failure modes like frequent graphics card resets. (6) With 1.2 the frequency increased but the nature of the problem narrowed to basically one manifestation. The graphics card would lock up and need to be reset. The EVE client stops responding, evidently due to the card lockup. Vista tries to announce EVE is not responding, but any interaction with the UI (e.g., to copy diagnostic information) causes a system lockup that requires a cold reboot. Sometimes Vista never gets a chance to announce the EVE problem and locks up immediately (All log server files are lost.) (7) The problem is almost always preceded by flakiness in the Market display that is manifested by one or more of the following: (7A) The Market does not respond to clicks and has to be closed and re-opened to work properly. (7B) When viewing Price History and selecting a new item, the Price History title does not change even though the prices do for a new selection. (7C) After alternating Details and Price History for different items, when selecting Price History the history displayed is for the last item examined, not the current one. When any of these occur a crash is imminent (within 10 mins and usually within 5 mins). But occassionally there will be a crash without any of these pre-symptoms, usually when the Market has high lag (Buy orders are displayed >5 seconds after Sell orders). (9) Crashes are much more frequent if the market is open when jumping, docking, or warping. Selecting an item just as one warps or jumps increases the crash probability. (10) Fairly intense market activity is required to trigger a crash when just docked a station. One must be looking at lots of items, alternating Details and Price History, creating/modifying Buy/Sell orders. (11) I have not encountered any crashes with 1.2 when I was running missions or other activities that did not involve the Market.
The BHs keep saying that the problem is not reproducible or they need log server files (which are not saved in the cold reboot). Ot is not reproducible because it seems fairly obvious that a thread in the market is either stepping on or being stepped on by another client thread. Since threads are inherently asynchronous there is no cookbook, mechanical way to reproduce the problem. So the crash can occur any time from 5 mins to 4 hours. But that is no excuse for not forwarding the diagnostic information to the developers.
[I sympathize because I have debugged 3MLOC device drivers with an Assembly debugger and no source listings. But with this much information and source listings it should be possible to make headway on the problem.]

Several exploit issues have been fixed, making EVE a better world to live in for us all.
Still waiting on these to be released.

Removing the cap is not magically going to make prices rise. They'll only rise if market conditions dictate it. Before the removal of the cap the market was artificially constricted.

Bumping this thread because they still haven't been released. Is there something that CCP doesn't want us to know?

I can't seem to find any details regarding anything that was "fixed"
We can only publish details on exploits when both the clusters, Tranquility and Serenity, have been updated.
Hi, it has been 3 weeks. Have you gotten around to doing this yet?

They haven't fixed the overview issues either.
Damned features that they want to keep in despite the annoyances they cause!
