Probably find that without all the lag and node deaths LV probably would have stopped Goons right at the start of the war because Goons used their numbers to crash nodes and lag systems.

The current political climate was as obvious as a train wreck months ago. BoB took advantage of the knowledge that if they held delve long enough, the rest of eve would turn on each other. They were simply waiting for alliances like Tri or Insurgency to stir things up.

A 3,000 man goon alliance will lose to a 3,000 man omgwtfbbq alliance simply because goons aren't about being the biggest pvpers. We don't hold our members to high standards. We are here to do what they want.
BOB are good at what they do, obviously. They generally made good decisions tactically regarding space holding and leeching the good pilots of pets of theirs, and not only that these pets still salivate over being mentioned in the same sentance as BOB. They made some dumb decisions too which ultimately got them pushed back to Delve, but they've recovered since. In general, though, they really know what they are doing. Good work.
BOB's success does come at a price, however. It is an alliance filled with players that do not mind sacrificing their own personal lives to be good at an internet spaceship game. The average goon weights his own personal life, or at least entertainment through other means (such as jihading, rather than gatecamping for hours and hours on end), greater than being the best pvper.
We wouldn't have it any other way, either. |

And then being on the defensive there and not understanding why everyone turned against GS and gained sympathy for BOB because of the forumtrolling makes it much more fun to see Goonies fail soooo miserably that I personally hope Molle takes the time to bust Goonies again and again...although I doubt it, it would be a waste of time.
