I dont look at Yougotripped awhole lot diff then other people when they come posting they need ISK. I figure sooner or later one them is going to rip me off and I am guessing it will not kill me. Its only going to be a little bit out of my wallet and not the end of the world.
Bah this is MilowFV trade alt sorry about that didnt even notice who was log in.

This will be an interesting case study in whether someone can turn their 'perceived' bad reputation around.
Good luck and don't blow it!
I'll throw 10m in. Funds sent later.

I dunno, I can't really ever see myself ever trusting YouGotRipped with any remotely significant amount. However I decided to let people go with their own opinions on this one as I figure if I am wrong about his true intentions I shouldn't be the one standing in the way of others.
That's not to say people can't think for themselves in the first place, sometimes I really wish they would. Either think for yourself or deposit in EBANK and let me handle your mutual fund

My view too on this matter.I am gonna keep an eye on this one for sure.Verry curious what comes out of it.

In which case the investors for this round should be fairly safe.

I am disappointed to see so many people investing in this.
This one may not be a scam, the next one may not be a scam but I'd stake my fortune on the fact that in the end, YouGotRipped will not just rip off his investors but flood this forum with ****-posts. Well, I guess he's already done that.
I encourage all of you to read this thread; keep in mind that LRN is simply the latest alt of YouGotRipped. Apparently that name was too obvious....

Again, I'm confused. The last attempts by LRN/Yougotripped failed miserably and NO ONE wanted to invest, not eve in the secured investment. Some time passes and all of a sudden it seems lots of people are ok with investing now. Did something change or are we just done with not liking his business plans/his character?
Side note: I never really had much to say about his previous attempts as everyone else seemed to say what was needed and then some.

Time check. You still have 3h left.
I do have to get this bond started, besides, someone that wishes to remain anonymous promised to fill the remaining part of the bond so it is paramount that I know exactly what amount to ask for. Please hurry. Starting with the whole 5B does make a lot of difference when it comes to stocking and diversifying production.

Good move. A less-than-1B IPO isn't going to lore too many future investors, no matter how well it went, so claim you have an "anonymous investor" that makes it 5B. You get the cred without actually having to pay interest on 5B. Really, an excellent move.

Bloody hell what is the secret of getting this thing to go back to your main instead of an alt? Is it based on the last character you log in game with or something?
Anyway I didnt invest because Ricdic toss in 100k ISK and I cannt imagine anyone else did either. Truth be told I just like to see where LRN is going. Does he like playing eve and the market or is he trying to somehow have the worse possible name for the market and see how big of a scam he can pull off in the end.
I think I offer to invest in his last bond also, but he closed it and got ISK from a couple of others and I never knew to send him the ISK until he got funding from else where. That was his secure bond he tried awhile.

Log in, then click on settings,(just under Forums) then click on character list and make whichever character you want default character.
Obviously you have TradeNow as your default character atm

I posted this in one of LRN/Yougotrippeds previous threads :-
"I don't particularly agree with the way anything you post is automatically trolled and flamed by certain members of this community. And I wouldn't particularly agree if those self same members claimed that they were 'doing the community a service' by exposing this that or the other"
Since then the gratuitous trolling/flaming of LRN/Yougotripped has virtually ceased and now he has been given a chance.
I really really hope he doesn't blow it

Why do I go the extra mile in reminding people the YouGotRipped is a troll who's been banned, had threads locked and more posts than I can count moderated not to mention implied that his early (and failed) attempts at gaining capital were scams? Because he made a point of being a jerk to me and used a bastardized version of my signature (including my name) for weeks in an effort to associate me with his horrible reputation. I'll be reminding people of that until the day people stop making excuses for him.
I can't imagine why you would want to defend him; even a dev called him out as a troll and the dev was being fairly diplomatic.
By the way, if you want to see "trolling and flaming" you should eve-search his many moderated posts. Compare them to mine and I think you'll see why I take offense to your comments.

My tuppence.
Ambo's post on the first page, perhaps accidentally, summed up most of the solid reasons why a self-interested solo investor would see this as a fairly low-risk, decent-return investment.
I'm sorry that I can't pretend to be taking a 'principled stand for the good of the MD community', which seems to be flavour of the month/year.
Every investment is of course a subjective matter, and I actually believe we're seeing the "Ricdic sheep effect" in evidence here - but not, curiously, coming from those who have chosen to invest. ------------------------------------------------- Caeleste naves interretis res gravissimas sunt |

Well it's fairly simple.New people like me read the threads here and see the same names over and over again. So you automaticcaly start thinking these people know what they are doing thus you follow them in the shares/bonds they themselves venture in. In my case i'm in here long enough to have seen many posts made by the OP and thus can't see myself investing in any of his deals.I can not say if he will or will not scam at a certain point but i can not say that for any investments i made in here. However with some people you just get that 'feeling' something's fishy.
Still speaking for myself i ALLWAYS check what the regulars in here will do/ask before investing some isk in an IPO/BOND.HOWEVER i will not follow any of these names in investing after thinking hard for myself about the investment.Hence why i didn't invest in this one.
Good luck to the OP though...IF he is not a scammer in the end then he surely had some rough winds to prove he had no bad intentions.

^^ problem highlighted
I can absolutely understand that there are new people who will follow the regulars. It's nigh-on impossible to be purely objective, and the opinions of the influential certainly (should and do) carry some weight.
However, I don't believe Ricdic's investment in this project is exactly a ringing endorsement of LRN (saying that you value the CEO's worth at 100K only seems more like a negative than a positive to me, but hey-ho), but I also don't believe LRN would bother scamming for such a small amount. Hence why I have participated in this particular bond, because I'm willing to take a gamble on the (imo) low risk on this particular offering.
My current investment activity is no indicator of my future investment activity, I have no interest in attempting to act as self-appointed 'policeman' for this or indeed any forum (except when it comes to Alliance names in Latin ofc), and I basically believe that people who invest in projects solely (or largely) on the basis of what a few of the regulars (or even the quieter non-regulars such as me) have or have not invested in should try to think for themselves a bit more.
I'm lucky enough to have never lost out in an investment to-date, and of course the time will come when I do get burnt. I just don't think it's this time. ------------------------------------------------- Caeleste naves interretis res gravissimas sunt |
