My decision to not invest in this or any other LRN/Yougotripped offerings is not/was not based on whether he would scam or not. I don't invest in people who act the way that he has in the past. Making elitist comments and talking down to everyone regardless of who they are or what questions they ask doesn't sit well with me. Perhaps he has learned that just because someone asks a question doesn't mean they are attacking him but instead they might genuinely not understand a part of his offering or simply seek further details.
Regarding the investor who wants to remain anonymous, while I can understand to an extent the desire to do this I would rather know who is investing for reasons already stated. As far as I'm concerned, any amount invested anonymously isn't invested at all and shouldn't be considered a part of this offering. Again, for reasons already stated.
Good Luck. Don't scam.

OFFERING CLOSED.
As soon as I get in touch with the investor that wished to remain anonymous I will start issuing shares.
I am the anonymous investor that LRN has been referring to. After considering his response to my question regarding the anonymity thing, I have decided that FULL DISCLOSURE is the safest and fairest way to accomplish everyone's goals here.
As soon as I have confirmation of acceptance of my terms from LRN, I will post those terms here and transfer the balance of what he needs to move forward with his operation.
Cheers,

TERMS OF BOND
Full amount of Bond will mature exactly 60 days after it is received.
20% interest will accrue at the end of EACH 30 day period. (i.e. 626 Million isk)
Total amount due at the end of Bond maturity will be: 3.13 Billion isk + 1.252 Billion isk
The Bond holder MAY pay back the TOTAL amount due before the maturity date without penalty, at which time the total amount due will be calculated on a "pro-rated" bases depending on the # of days has passed within that 30 day period.
The Bond issuer MAY grant an extension to the term of the Bond, granted mutually acceptable terms can be met, otherwise the Bond will be considered to have matured and the total balance agreed to above will be due.
Full disclosure of the above terms, and subsequent transactions regarding said Bond will be made available on the eve-o forums for all other participants to witness
Looking forward to the payback.
Cheers,

I just wanted to state what my previous experience is with LRN / YouGotRipped. On 2008.01.07 he requested a loan (unsecured) for 2b ISK for 2 months at a rate of 12% (original thread here)
As you can see I've invested the full 2b unsecured. On 2008.02.08 the full investment + 12% was refunded to my wallet. The reason for this I believe was that RL hit him and he said he wasn't able to continue for another month. At that point in time I offered to post my investment experience in the original thread however he didn't feel it was necessary so I didn't. Seeing everybody's reactions I thought I might share my experience with you all.
Note: not related to this LRN's IPO. Ricdic can confirm that i'm a bit 'crazy' seeing he was a witness with an unsecured long term loan with no strings attached or profits promised to Bakimi Ghevorchal just after he got blown up losing several BPO's and posting the method of saving his IPO. The total loan was 1,750,000,000 and started on 2007.11.28.

Thank you dude. I appreciate that.
I think the time has come to post an update. The venture is doing well, I've taken one day off just recently to avoid burnout. I have some BPOs that haven't been used in ages. I would like to rent those for 1/3 the benefit obtain from the sales. You will have to join my corp though.

Edited by: LRN on 31/05/2008 07:32:59 Margins for what I'm trading dropped quite a lot. Irrespective of that, my next bond will surely not offer 20% interest. Maybe 10% for 5B. The aim is to lower the interest and not to increase the amount loaned, although I could use a little more funding for minerals contracting to make use of whatever BPOs I have left, or a lot more funds and start a joint recycling op because burnout is always a problem.

It's amazing that somebody who lost people in here 23billion because of his appalling lack of judgement should make a demeaning and derogatory post about, what so far, has been a reputable and properly run bond offer.
You just demean yourself really with your harassment and bullying.
Just in case you haven't caught on yet Ricdic.........I detest bullying in any shape or form.
And i'm glad to see the incidence of it in this forum has very much decreased recently.

Every investment is of course a subjective matter, and I actually believe we're seeing the "Ricdic sheep effect" in evidence here - but not, curiously, coming from those who have chosen to invest.

Edited by: LRN on 05/06/2008 17:53:38 Christmas has come earlier than expected, 15 days earlier actually.
1B isk payed as divs to the investors on 05 June 2008. Next payment will occur on 20'th of May 2008 or sooner of course.
Ricdic got his 100k isk (that he invested 3 days after the bond has gone active) back.

Following certain changes to manufacturing implemented in the last patch (the way waste is calculated in particular) it has become increasingly hard to deal with competition and provide both the 20% return the bond strives to uphold and a huge profit for myself without allocating copious amounts of time to 0.01 isk undercutting which is something I truly hate.
For now I'm crashing markets on a regular basis but in the future I might need to partially shift focus towards some less profitable and less stressful projects that I've considered for quite some time now (I'm quite anxious actually). Diversification is also an option here and I'm already training the skills needed for T2 manufacturing/inventing certain highly demanded products but this is something best reserved for later when I'll join an alliance and I'll also have access to moon mining.
Considering the above, I will try to preserve the 20% return for another month as agreed in the terms of the bond and I truly hope that the investors understand the situation.
