A mining corp in the region Placid. This weekend we got a war declaration from an Alliance called "BlackHand.". There a mafiacorp and they want us to to pay them protection money. We didnt pay them so there now trying to kill as many of us as possible. This is all cool and part of the game. I have quit a bit of combat experience and checking local. And when yesterday when I was doing mission with a friend I saw them enter local and we decided to dock up. Ending up getting station camped in a station that had nothing for sale. At that point I got a call from a friend asking me to come over to his place to play some Poker. I was ofcourse happy to come since I was being station camped. When I got home at 0200 I noticed I was in Osmeden the place where I set my clone. I had no idea why it happend. But basicly im 20 years old and I live at home with my parents. At that point I started to realize what had happend. Yesterday the internet on our main computer (im playing on a laptop) has broken down. My mom wanted to check her email and decided to do so on my laptop. I still had EVE open because I wanted to bore the guys station camping me too dead. My mom then with her lack of knowlage of computers and games not knowing how to exit the game pressed undock. Flying my poor character into into dead. At that point there was only a vagabond outside the station. Since that was the only one on the killmail. But with noone to activate the shields and return fire it probably took him a min or 2 to kill me. Losing me my pvp Raven with had some faction gear. And a +4 implant set but without the charisma one. And 5 +3% hardwiring implants. And since "BlackHand." is getting more cash out of the war then its paying. Me losing faction gear too them is probably gonne extend the war even further. The idea was to just bore them to dead. But my mom managed to ruin it by pressing one button. And she ofcourse doesnt understand the pain she caused me. The Raven I lost was like a baby to me. A few months ago I was flying around ratting in low-sec and started to get chased by a couple of guys. One in a ceptor, a bc and a cruiser...I was in a stabber. They chased me for a few jumps until I got into a station and docked up. Left my house to go out with some buddies (but left eve running)..... Come back to find myself back in my clone station and was killed by the guys that were hunting me down....pretty ****ed off I must say. Turns out (even though she said no) that my mom used my computer and did the same thing yous did, hit the undock button.

I remember when I fish played it took me 10 minutes of poking the around the window trying to find the log off button, until I asked in local. :( it never occurred to me to press 'esc' for some reason.

There is a specific button you have to push that is labeled undock, so for this story to be believable someone's mom would have had to come to a computer with eve open, and then get really lucky by just mousing over stuff and clicking randomly until the character undocked. Tbfh, these "someone else was on my character (because I left the game open) and they got me killed" stories are a dime a dozen in every MMO community. -K

That way nobody can mess with your computer while you're not around. I always do this at work (have to do it due to security crap) so I also always do it at home. Couple of years ago when I first started and had a stack of short skills, my wife decided to do me a favour while I was at work by looging in and changing skill for me. When she finished she hit the undock to close the program only to find the ship in space. She spent the next 30 mins flying the ship at the station from every angle trying to get it to go back in. Eventually she posted very meekly in corp chat "How do i dock". Probably a good thing i didnt have a Nyx back then otherwise she could have started the Faction war 2 years early.
