Let me be the one of the many to LAUGH.
Seriously. CCC rigs? are you silly? learn to build a nighthawk tank. a nighthawk tank, save for maybe 1-2 hardeners, and a screen is LSEIIs, SPR IIs, and core defence field purger rigs. when done right you can draw super aggro in worlds collide, go out to eat, and still have cap and your ship last time I checked :) Another one bites the dust. |

Think about the guys that lose Titans, losing one of those must sting a bit.
However, If a SINGLE LAG SPIKE blew your ship the eff up in what was probably no more than 10 seconds at the very most... revise your fitting.
Where was your fleet at the time anyway? You were flying a Nighthawk right?

CCP - I bought a 5th account. I helped recoup your loss.
[troll] As to the whiner who's quitting. Sorry to see ya go. Here's a list of some MMORPG's that may take a bit more kindly to you:
World of Warcraft Hello Kitty Online Anarchy Online Guild Wars Ragnarok Online
And whenever that's not enough.. you can always go back to playing Diablo 2! lol [/troll]

Lag is not a reason for getting your ship back. a lag spike should not make your ship die unless you have a poor setup or you are too close to the limit. [all modules are still active even if you spike], hell I've even reloged before now and still been flying safe [sometimes in a pod though - you win some you loose some]

He doesn't have any stuff left.
I find missioning in a nighthawk stupid tbh, battleships can do it much faster and even though, nighthawks are supposed to have teh uber tank
Not true for T1 BS. Partly true for CNR/Golem but the difference isn't very big if you get your skills up. An equivalent CNR/Golem/Pilot is perhaps 10% faster on average.
Quote: , my drkae never died hen I DCed with full aggro in any lvl 4 and it costs only like 90M.
Yeah well the OP clearly sucks at fitting out a Nighthawk. Tbh he seems to suck so bad that he has to be a troll/joke post.
A T2 fitted passive tank NH can survive full room aggro(*) from nearly all the L4 missions in the game. A faction fitted passive tank NH can handle full room aggro from everything except EA5/5.
(*)By 'full-room' I mean pretty much that. Warp in, get everything blinking at you but don't pop anything.
This does assume that the fitting is racial specific. An omni-tank NH can handle any L4 in the game but some missions will require that the pilot know what they are doing and a disconnect could be a little uncomfortable. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

Never lost a ship? never lost a ship for a stupid reason? It's a game, it happens. A LOT of players have lost ships for stupid reasons. At least he pretty much admitted to his mistake. Chill, it wasn't your ship he lost.
Actually just for the hell of it I will state that I have never lost a ship to mission rats. Not once. Not in nearly 4.5 years of game play.
I have come close on two occasions:
* Back in '04 when Mordus Headhunters first appeared. Lot of whining and nashing teeth before they added that red text. I just happened to always pop frigs first because I didn't (at the time) use drones and what else are you gonna do flying an Armageddon without drones
* Earlier this year. My second account main was flying a Sleipnir. My strategy at the time was to keep the shield between 40% and 50%. I triggered the wrong spawn (can't remember the mission but it was the one where there's a single BS close to you). Just as I hit boost I got a (rare for me) disconnect and I was warp scrambled. By the time I got on I was down to 50% armour. Amazingly I managed to not only clear the scrambler but actually hung on long enough to get things back under control and complete the room without warping out.
Since that Sleipnir incident I have:
* Decided not to let my shields go below 50% * Developed more of a respect for the ol' slapper. It's more work than a NH but in the right hands it's got a helluva survivability factor. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

it is .. sadly.. the nature of the beast.
CCP fails big time when it comes to refunds and actually being accountable for their lag filled system
then invests millions to features that only add to the lag problem. I've been saying it for years, ccp has their head shoved squarely up where the sun don't shine.

I lost a Merlin once because I got in my head that I really needed that named launcher that was floating around next to a sentry, and because my tank consisted entirely of a cargo scanner…
…also, in connection to the OP, losing a ship that leisurely and permanently passive-tanks 1200dps with a 90k HP buffer, even with a modest fit, takes some skill, I must say!

Here is what I think happened...
The guy gets his nighthawk he has heard for months how ubber they are on missions, and they are.
He is most likely a Raven pilot he setup his nighthawk very similar without checking at the ship setup forum and went out to do battle and got wtfpwned.
Problem is nighthawk is ok with active tanking but it is not a good thing to do it was born to passive tank. You burn through your cap fairly quick if you set it up like a raven. But even then unless he was warpscramed by some little pest or near death he should have had plenty of time to warp away when you diconnect.
I think he went out there thinking the NH was the end all of ships and got wooped up on.

Besides, 500mil is a drop in the pool. Some players spend that every hour.
in one 24 hour period lately my bank balance went from 950 mill to 1600 odd mill to 4.5 million back up to 750 million. life's a roller coaster in eve.
