Quote: "My question is this...
Will the price to own stores be reasonable.
By reasonable i mean this; I bought a Raven class battleship the other day for about 73 Million(good deal huh?). Now that 73 million bought be a massive ship of war with room for over 6000 crew members. Im hoping that to rent a room in a station will not be astronomically expensive. If a personal battleship cost 90 million, a store should be in the 100000isk price range.
Now im no roleplayer, in fact if i caught myself speaking in brackets i'd have to kick my own ass, but to me these new features should be in proportion to ship prices and true to the game. I mean should a bar cost you as much as a battleship, i think not.
Im worried that owning a bar or store is something that only the mega rich can do."
Interesting points above but my take on it is to run a bar for the most important 'demigods' in the galaxy - that would be expensive - think of the top clubs etc in the major capital cities of our own world - you are not dealing with the riffraff but serving the most powerful people in the galaxy - that is an exclusive clientelle and so would come at a premium price (like running a bar here on earth which just has the world leaders/royal families, and CEO's like Bill Gates etc hanging out there.....)
The same goes for HQ rooms/conference rooms etc - you will be renting the most important 'pent house' suits in the system and they should come at a premium price - like the top firms pay through the nose to have offices in London, NY etc..........
All other communication can be thought of as being taken place on board ship, in your own quarters or in smaller offices in lower decks, not 'gaphically' simulated in the game.........
Just some thoughts.......

Will the Neocom (wallet, communications, and anything on the left side menu?) still be functional inside the station, would we need to find terminals to access it or would our pod pilot implants take care of that?
Next Question, can we train a new skill book or implant while in the station or do we have to 'enter dock' this also leads to the question would players have a small 'personal' inventory (cargo expander pants for additional .5m3 cargo space)?
Would there be any modules on the shipside of eve that would get a phsyical appearance in ambulation? I would love to see how big a 425mm railgun is in comparison to a person or the ammo you shove into it. Could be used to decorate some shops (the smaller stuff, I doubt a shop would be big enough to have a xl megablaster inside of it)
Would pictures or information pages could be used like framed pictures in shops to show off something? Like the Icon Picture of a thorax displayed in your store, and another frame containing its stats/description.
Also what sort of things players can get to label in their store, Like neon letting for thier store or a regular name with a back light in it or the sort?

Another couple of questions for Eris:
Will hangar bays be communal, corporate or personal instances?
The original TenTonHammer ambulation video shows a Zealot undocking from a particularly large Amarrian station of an as-yet-unseen design with an entrance. Are there plans to implement these larger stations in game?
In relation to the last question, do we manually pilot our ships out from dock through a navigable station or is it a simple animation or black screen to prevent crashing into walls and silly block-play in station docking halls?
Will we be able to visit any ship in dock, or just our own or corpmates [assuming that from the original ambu video]?

This may have been answered already, forgive me if it has (I did check the first post to see if I could find something related to my question).
How will it work exactly, would I have to be in the same station as a person I would want to meet? At the moment you can have the bar 'located' in some far away system and still be 'in' it, which is a very nice convience for those who either can't move to where the bar, appartment, etc is located.

Sorry if this has been asked before (I have tried checking different pages and can't see it anywhere) but will you be able to walk around in a POS? - if the answer is yes do the owning players get to design teh layout in anyway?
Cheers

This hasn't been said yes or no specifically, but as you can't dock at a POS I can't imagine how you'd be able to walk around in it, unless they significantly change the way POS work. ---------------- Ambulation Answers

Is there a definite answer as to the inclusion of minigames in stations? I didn't have the time to read most of the thread som I'm not sure if it was mentioned.

They haven't confirmed or denied that they'll be in the first release, but they've confirmed they want them in. Link is in the first post of the thread. ---------------- Ambulation Answers

I am not sure if this has aleady been asked but oh well.
The devs said that corporations would have small coporate halls, will these be set size or can you buy/rent a bigger hall/facility. And will you be able to have a bigger corp halls/facilitys in 0.0 stations than you would find in empire. (or at least, at less expense)

As far as bigger ones, they've said you'll be able to rent space in a station and control who has access to it - so setting access to corp only would achieve what you're asking for.
As for whether or not the spaces will be bigger or cheaper in outposts as opposed to NPC stations, they haven't said. If I had to guess, I'd say the outpost holder will set prices for that kind of thing, as they do now for offices. ---------------- Ambulation Answers

Yes, several ambulation videos including the aforementioned Fanfest 2007 video and the NYCC 2008 demo demonstrate that you can range from very thin through to obese, with you gait and walk changing with your size.

Edited by: krelak on 07/08/2008 20:18:56 They've mentioned that we'll be able to walk around in our ships. (cheers!) Does this mean that we will also finally have a bridge view? (stupid filter won't let me say ****pit lol) Personally I find a bridge view with radar and other instrumentation much more immersing than watching a 3rd person view of my ship. It would be nice if they had both views as I'm sure there are many that prefer the 3rd person view.

Thats all you cry about, along with the other whiners, and you get the same answer every freaking time.
Soon (tm) Its on the way, just like Ambulation, it takes time.
No matter what you will always have lag however. Ive noticed the majority of lag is actually client side. Either that or my internet is better then yours... There was two occasions in which I got lag, and they were both my fault, in battles of 100-600 people in one system.
In stain, left all brackets on, and effects on with 450 on grid shooting a pos. My video card couldn't take it so I lagged all to hell, really more of a fps drop.
fighting in low sec, I FC'd a fleet using eve voice BEFORE they fixed the issues with having more then 30 people connected to it.
It's funny but throughout my history in eve lag has only gotten lesser and lesser. Module lag? Who gets that...

EDIT: another question:
Q: If we're allowed to own our own clubs, will we be able to designate some parts of the bar as invite-only "VIP Lounges". "If your name's not on the list, you're not getting in" sort of thing?

I predict... 32000 players online : 20000 of them in 40000 bars with 1 other alt playing table jumping games...
Hopefully there is alot of the ol' sandbox mentality when it comes to customising bars otherwise id imagine it will unfortunately be a bit of a dud feature.

You should've seen all the topics on the AoC forums from people not only wanting to be able to kill pretty much anyone and anywhere, but also be able to loot every single item on their bodies. Heck, some of them wanted to be able to permakill people, just out of spite.
