Although, around tris pew pew zone the past week there has been some odd lag spikes and waves, for both sides, and it appears to have spread across the region. Bob didn't take that jammer down by shear skill or numbers, they took it down because the defending fleet lagged so badly, or so im told, they couldn't enter system or even fuel a jb but they took it down, and sadly in the end, that's all that counts. Being fair, i was over 20 jumps away at the time, minding my own business and i had to have a gm move me twice so i doubt it was as isolated as the op makes out. Oh yes, and death to bob

Two of the last three loses of mine I was killed by ships that didn't even show up on my overview and none of my mods were activating. I'm not whining just making the point that lag goes both ways. I think that we all wish that CCP would fix these issues instead of putting their resources towards their nerf bats or doing worthless things such as "walking in stations". CCP doesn't even have a way to track lag or to know when its happening. I'm sure that we've all received petition responses saying that the server-side log doesn't show any problems. Lag sucks but it goes both ways.

He just couldn't have been that much better then me that he would win every time. Now I finally come to realize that Iceland and their penguins had something to do with it. Thanks Luthien!!! No more therapy It's always better to find something to blame other then yourself. How many other mmorpg's has a server as big as Eve-online? Could it be that technology is still being developed that will take care of the lag and that maybe there isn't anyone to blame? Just pew pew pew, then wake up in a station, buy another clone, ship and mods and go pew pew pew some more. If your not having fun then do something else.

His account of what we experienced is factual. Lag continued well after the cynojammer was down, however, and lightened up only after the gate battle/massacre and BoB switched to carrier fighters to deal with POS modules. An earlier thread here about fighters being lag friendly seems to be verified. Which means there is something horribly, terribly flawed about how the server side handles heavy concentrations of turret ships. BoB understands lag, and uses it to their advantage. They aren't the only ones. I've read here that Goons used to copy zillions of bookmarks to achieve the same end. I haven't haven't heard allegations of the same sort of exploits from BoB. But they do understand the lag game, and the advantage of loading the grid first, or at least loading it in its entirety before pew pew commences. The real issue here is that load is rebalanced accross the Tranquility cluster only at downtime. The node that ZLZ occupied probably managed most of the rest of Vale and perhaps some surrounding null sec as well. And most of null-sec, most of the time, is pretty barren wilderness. There's no way in the present code base to dynamically rebalance load. But suprise attacks are suprises to only one party, and I think everyone would have more fun if aggressors in big blob sovereignty battles notified CCP well before DT, so that the nodes could be reinforced.

You seem to forget about GM with full officer geared ships just randomly suiciding into BoB gatecamps and a day after "lol chow we're comming for your targets" we had GM warping from POS to POS in our capital systems. The fact that CCP knew by name the player who was making the portrait pack and decided to do nothing except incorporate a similar system into the game speaks of "hacking the client" other groups like ISS used the portrait pack too. Sharkbait did NOT do his job to completion as he is supposed to inform the CEO that he is joining his corporation. He came, gave himself director roles then left in the timeframe that DS1 was building the HZF outpost and planning to build a Titan. There was reason for alarm considering our experience with the CCP staff in that timeframe.

We don't really care if others keep on repeating the one time CCP screwed over our reputation just to harass our membership, but the code of discipline in the alliance is still as strict as ever when it comes to how EVE is played. We are stricter than any other alliance in the game. Actually, it works to our advantage that our enemies think we cheat, especially if they are petulant about it. This is the price we pay for being the best.
