Junker? what's that a ship that recycles wrecks? Aren't thugs small freighters? We already have flagships: Command ships and Titans. Juggernauts? And i agree heavy bombers would be awesome.

cuz only having 1 size of bombers, while we have 2 sizes of nearly everything sounds a bit... meh ---

junker = T2 specialized salvager. thug = T1 in-between industrials and freighters flagship = T2 battleship, cuz not everyone has a titan, and command ships' tank isn't that "OHMAGAWD!". juggernaut = orbital bombardment ship I want to see when they implement planetary interaction. ---

Well currently there are 3 ships for each race that don't have a t2 variant.
Bantam/Navitas/Tormentor/Burst - Prehaps a salvaging/hacking etc. bonused ship for these hulls, or maybe a small agile miner, like 3 turrets, 20% bonus per level, frigate class speed/agility with grid to fit a mwd and small tank.
Drake/Myrmidon/Harbinger/Hurricane - heavy bomber? some sort of science ship / exploration ship?. Commandships already have the role of harder hitting, better tanking battlecruisers so they would need to fill some kind of niche.
Rokh/Hyperion/Abaddon/Maelstrom - Some form of 'flagship' ?

A second T2 variety of the logistics' T1 cruiser (osprey etc) capable of fitting 3 siege launchers (torpedoes) with a 500% damage bonus but 50% penalties towards explosion velocity and explosion radius. Paperthin and useful only against capital ships or webbed down and painted battleships.

We've got tech 2 battleships already amd imn teh same breath, some lean towards a salvager role.
I'd like to see the "Heavy Bomber" make an appearance. Specialised in fitting anti capital class ordanace... tech 2 bombs? Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona and not that of a real life politician. Navigator |

I do have a damnation, but I believe that just a supa-tanked ship that can't do more than just giving gang bonuses and sit there while it goes to a 100-man blob in less than 5 secs is enough for me.
don't get it wrong tho. the damnation is a good ship. I myself have one. I just believe that for bigger gangs, we need better command ships (that will probably give 1 or 2 more bonuses, besides the gang links). ---

What about Liners, you could do passenger missions.
Or science vessels where you had to get rare ores or scan stuff ?

I would like a dropship. So I can swoop down onto a planet and deploy some space marines. I would be able to provide fire support from the dropship and evacuate any casualties.
I would also be able to launch anti-matter bombs to turn the planet to dust if things go really **** up. The bombs would be called, We Didn't Want The Planet Anyway Bombs.

Edited by: Melana Emmagan on 22/09/2008 15:40:47 What I'd like to see, and how I imagine them:
Flagship: (T2 (or T3) Battleship) A extremly well tanked Ship which cannot fit weapons but give good bonuses to the fleet. To make Flagships something "unique" there can only be a certain number of them in a fleet e.g. one per Squad.
Recyler: (T2 (or T3) Cruiser) A fast Ship with lots of Cargo with two Versions: One with lots of Cargo and one with more tank and less cargo (combat salvager). Has only one or two Slots for weapons, but gets bonuses on Salvagers and Tractorbeams.
Specialized Industrial Ships: Industrials specialized in transporting one type of cargo. Example: a Tanker would get a bonus for transporting liquid goods (like water). Bonus could be -50% space needed, so if you put in 1000m¦ of water only 500¦ would be needed. Downside would be that all other goods (livestock for example) take 50% more room. Great for people who specialize in doing or transporting one thing (Pos fuel for example)
Passenger Liners: (Interbus anyone?) Actually just another version of a specialized industrial. But these could be cool, especially with walking on stations (and ships). Can only transport Passengers, but a big Number of them. Cargohold is not measured in m¦ but in number of seats. You can pick up ppl at one station, bring them to the place they want to go to, get ISK. A new nice way to get players around in Empire. And before you say "normal Industrials can do that too!"... I know. But would you sit in truck every morning to go to work?
Bigger Mining Ships: Orca and Rorqual are nice, but those are only of use in a Gang. What about the solo miners/one miner, one hauler gangs?
Ships for walking on Stations: Luxury Liners, Partyships, Research Ships etc...
Well, that's all I can think of atm^^
Edit: LOL, I took so long to write this that most stuff got mentioned while I was writing Oo

I would imagine a passenger liner would be a highsec version of a clone vat bay transporter. have people activate their clones into your ship and you could go around dropping peoples jump clones off.

Decloakers - frigate-sized ships using remaining models (or PERISH THE THOUGHT NEW MODELS), that can equip specialized "cloak destabilization field emitters" that basically work like a smartbomb with no damage but a field of, say, 100km diameter (increasing with the appropriate skill of course).
Capital Miners - not really much to say here. Lots of skills needed to fly, plus skills to use new cap-strip miners, this should make carebear folks happy. Also, do not include a compressed mineral capability, leave out a ship maintenance bay, give it a corp hangar of say 10km3, and a cargo hold of about... 5km3. Should be enough to make using it with a Rorqual a near necessity.
MultiLink-Ships - think command ships mixed with logistics. They give a bonus, but only if they're matched with 3 or more of the same ship-type. ie., three... Minmitar Muspellheims (thank you Wikipedia) multi-link together, giving an overall fleet bonus of 15% cap recharge increase. However, if five Muspellheims link together, you might get a 22% cap recharge increase. Obviously with made up numbers etc., but by linking ships, you'd get a cool delta/quadra/penta-linked image of the ships, while providing a worthwhile bonus.
Mobile Cynojammers - Tech2 tier 3 battleships. Can fit only 2-3 weaponized items, and the vast majority of the CPU/grid is used to fit a mobile cynojammer unit. Penalties include: - massive fuel useage (in comparison with available cargo bay), thus causing a refuel need every 2-3 cycles (cycles being every 5-10 min.) - 100% mobility stop (siege mode) - squad/fleet penalty when mobile jammer is active based on ship race (think anti-commandship bonus, such as t2 rokh gives negative shields, etc.) - reserved
-----------------------
Also, include a friggin Bribery skill. 24h per use, skill gives 1% per charisma point for initial chance for successful bribe. Skill level increases every 5% that bribery will be successful, each bribery attempt costs a certain amount based on negative standing, each failed attempt reduces overall standings and increases overall amount of next bribery attempt. Would make for fixing sec status useful (rather than ratting), give a boost to the failing attribute that is Charisma, and balance the worth of Charisma implants.
