The anti-semitism that I see the most is usually directed at the other semites: Arabs. Anti-Jewish slang is out there, but it isn't what I see the most of by far.
In EVE I see a lot of the N-word and a lot of anti-homosexual slang. But more than anything else in EVE, there is a lot of misogyny and use of offensive and anti-women slang.
It's not everyone, and there is a lot going on in the game that does not involve any of the above, but I would say I see that stuff a lot more than anti-Jewish. Of course, maybe some people see rants about the Israel/Palestine conflict as anti-Jewish too, which I do not.
EDIT: And now I see that in between reading the beginning of this thread and when I came back to post in it, it has exploded into a rather nasty debate about Israel/Palestine. I just want to add that I did not intend to become part of that particularly ugly argument. |

I'm not saying it's "in character" I'm saying that you have ****-all chance of changing it, and that really it's become a colloquial term. This is to say the term has become local, not global. Therefore the meaning is very different to what some people might interpret it as.
Take the phrase "I really don't like that genre" where in the french genre means "type" but in the movie business it might mean "sub-type" of movie. Like starwars vs star trek are both sci fi, but you would use the word genre to identify between sub-types.
The meaning and intent are very different to what these people are trying to denounce it as now.
If you can't see that past your crutches I think that you have more cultural issues than what anyone can put on you from outside.
Not to mention that you've presented this as an anti-semitic issue and not just an issue all around as people have mentioned - there are MANY instances of this going on and you fail to mention any but your own. I find this offensive myself.

When I come to Eve I see people as they really are: wretched haters who would rather reach for an easy slur that to think harder and write something else.
Who cares whether the rest of you get it? Nobody gets to tell me it's all right to use slurs about Jews, Muslins, women, gay people, or anybody else.
If nothing else, Eve gathers the lowest forms of life on the planet so that the rest of the planet can see just how much work there is left to do. There are many good people in Eve, too, but they tend to be silenced by the loud voices of the bigots and the smell of adolescent hormones still being released well into the 20s of most of the players.
It amazes me that I can type these horrible words into local chat without a problem but the forum won't let me. Makes it clear that much of this language could easily be cleaned up in the game.

I do enjoy these replies when hardly anyone can grasp the context due to wilful ignorance. The crux of my post is crying anti-semetism at any expression of a Jewish stereotype is both a crutch and a logical fallacy given the history of the people and region . The Zionist agenda to make any utterance aside praise for these people automatically some form of racism or a crime when undeniably the term anti-semetic more aptly applies to the policy of terror and subjugation against the true Semites since the latter 30's. And finally, I would like to suggest that instead of getting angry at people for using the word, why don't you suggest a tasteful alternative? For instance, when people call something gay (and are not referring to its sexual orientation), I suggest they call it homophobic instead, thus it is actually an insult.
