While you can kill someone in EVE, but is illegal and wrong in RL, you can change your RL name to anything that can be written with alphabet of official language(at least in every democratic society). And i don't understand how can anyone be offended by someones elses name. Actually.. i don't understand how can people be offended by anyone to whom they aren't emotionally attached. (eg. by total stranger?)

But the idea of upsetting or angering someone else is often too tempting for their degenerative minds to resist. If it was to use the animal personality in a positive way, then why do we not see a same ammount of characters named deer, doe, stag, wolf, drake, etc...? Ignorance (or Stupidity) is not an excuse to on purpose hurt people. PS: Doh! The forum replaced the name I saw in space with little * placeholders. I would think that thisis a hint to log back in and report those persons. PPS: Not so easy to get this posted, ..

You dont have any kind of gaurantee to act as you see fit within another persons business or home, even if your conduct would be acceptable elsewhere. So at the end of the day all that matters is what CCP finds offensive. That may or may not mirror to a large degree what other players find offensive, but it is CCPs whim and CCPs alone.
