I remember looking at the old ship chart back when I started playing, and just realised recently that it hadn't been updated yet. So I decided to take it upon myself to compile a new one with the Trinity expansion graphics.
Eve Online Ship Chart - Quantum Rise Edition
I am planning to make a sub-capital version of the chart too, with all the pirate/faction ships on it at a larger scale. I'll update this post with a link once it's done.
As always any donations would be appreciated.
P.S. I'm not really sure if it's the right forum, but hey, it's probably the first place I'd look for it.

Great work, man! This should definitely get stickied or something.
You get the models with TriExporter or with some other crazy voodoo I don't know about? ----- Anyone who makes a point of telling you they never beat around the bush is beating around the bush. |

I think something in the area of 300-400 cubic kilometers is probably about right for these although due to the convoluted shapes that figure might actually be off by a fair margin. At any rate in-game they're a good 15-18 km in length depending on class.

Cheers guys
I'm not 100% sure on the scaling of the ships, but that's the size of the models in the game files. I'd be interested in knowing from CCP if the 3D models are rescaled when they are rendered in-game, or if they are directly imported as the size they are?
Lord Regulus: Yes I used TriExporter, and hours worth of converting models, textures and setting up shaders.

The models sizes are indeed correct.
The issue with the game engine is that the camera distance and zoom are dependant on the kind of ship you fly.
If you fly a frigate and zoom all the way in, it takes up a certain portion of the screen. If you fly a battleship and zoom all the way in, it takes up (roughly) the same amount of screen space. If you fly a titan and zoom all the way in, it takes up (roughly) the same amout of screen space.
I say "roughly" because the shape of the model also makes a difference. A nearly spherical ship (say, a Vexor) will allow the camera to come much closer than a very stretched out ship (say, an Iteron).
The main effect that this has is making you view your surroundings differently depending on the ship you fly. If you are flying a titan, you will likely see your fleet members only as brackets in space, even when fully zoomed in (unless they happen to be interposed between your ship and your camera viewpoint). Conversely, when in a frigate, everything else's freaking enormous.
So it's no surprise that there's confusion about the scaling of models.

Very nicely done.
I'm somewhat disappointed in CCP that they haven't scaled up the mothership models yet; for the most part they are the same size as dreads, or smaller, which just seems out of whack. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

Naglfars height: 9999999 meters.
I just measured it using the scaling given. Measures 1409 pixels high, give or take 3-5 pixels.
Each pixel is 3,5 meters. 1409 pixels x 3,5 meters/pixel = 4931,5 meters
So its not "OVER NINE THOUSAND!?". Pity. :S

Oh, and the Bustard is missing (Caldari T2 hauler with a unique hull design) and I see three identical Magnate hulls. Can hardly see any difference between them.
And I think it could be cool to have them split up into separate files, one for each race (maybe usable as a desktop background?) --

Forgive me if there's some obvious reason why I'm not seeing them, but as a noob, and as someone who has read Halada's mining guide a lot (but no further down the line than an Osprey), I was keen throughout the lengthy loading of the picture to finally get a glimpse at a Hulk, along with the other biggies of the mining world - Mackinaw and Skiff.
Are they missing? Are they just nicknames Halada used?
It was really cool to see the Rorqual on there though. And of course the Titans. Lovely picture, saved to look at whenever I'm sat through downtime (like now :) )

Exhumers are mainly just reskinned barges with a few extra bits stuck on. At the scale this map is at, they're indistinguishable from their T1 version.

Does it annoy anyone else that the devs have repeatedly been asked why motherships cannot dock, and the answer they usually give is "supercaps are just too big to dock, they're like small stations themselves, it would just be silly" when the dreadnoughts are on the whole either as large as or larger than the moms, and yet they can dock? i say either moms need to be scaled up, or dreads need to be scaled down to maybe not as small as a carrier, but at least not as massive as they are now. its just irritating to me.

Well if you're talking area, then the Titan is at a severe disadvantage due to being a very "height" based object, whereas a country or shopping mall is more of a horizontal object.
However:
The world's largest shopping mall (which is WAY bigger than "modest") can be found in Dongguan China. It has an area of 0.892km^2 If we were just too look at the top down view of an erebus and ignore it's depth completely we'd have: 4050px * 3.5m = 14,175m long x 1250px * 3.5m = 4,375m wide = 62.015625km^2 this puts the flat erebus at about 69.5 times the "size" of the worlds largest shopping mall.
But now we need to take into account height. The shopping mall has an amazing three stories. One story is commonly accepted to be ~3 meters. So we need to take that 0.892*.003= 0.002676km^3 for the mall vs 62.016*4.375= 271.32km^3 for 101,390 times the size of the shopping mall.
For fun... If we went and covered ALL OF ICELAND with three story building, it would only have a size of 309km^3 or about 13% larger than an Erebus.
So yeah.. a Titan is about the size of a (small) country. Hell.. 60 Titans would be the size of France...

You could quite happily get away with 1m tall though, all depends on the quality you want. It would look 'OK' right up to 1.5m at a guess.

By the way, this thing is amazing. Good eye for graphic design, as well. I'm going to section it at quarters, I think, and put each up on my cube wall. (theres a wide short band of space available, hence the odd aspect ratio).

Agreed on the t2/faction, though I think including those would require upping the file to multiple pages. Perhaps roll it into a .PDF, where one page is the basic size comparisons of the classes (like what you currently have) and then a different page for each size class... Be nice to have a good quality image of all frig's/t2 frigs/faction frigs...

Now that I know how to find the actual RGB codes for the ship shaders I was able to modify the Gallente colours so they're the same as the in-game colours.
Eve Online Ship Chart - Quantum Rise Edition The new version is in a zip file because for some reason EVE Files kept giving me an error when I would try to upload the .jpg file. Anyone have any idea why this would be happening? Is it just that the .jpg file resolution is to big?
I haven't had a lot of time to work on the sub-cap chart lately, but it will get done... eventually.
And no I am not going to add in every single possible T3 ship combination I might put in one of each variation though. So a total of 3 T3 cruiser variations for each race for now.
BTW, this is the actual in-game scale of the ships. For all those who don't think it is, go park a Rifter right next to a Megathron and you'll see what I mean.

Scramblers are basically a form of ECM, and they play havoc with the navigational computer on the target ship, confusing them so they can't warp. So I can see how even a small ship could be emitting a signal which affects the computer enough. Of course, a lot of ships have reinforced systems and thus should be immune to Scramblers as well. |

I've actually found how to get all the RGB colour codes now, so I'm going back and re-working all the textures. So yes the caldari are probably a bit blue, but that will be fixed soon

I've had a couple of requests of this nature already, so I will be releasing a psd and/or tiff version that will be uncompressed so it'll be primo for printing
I might release another version as well with a transparent background, just in-case someone wants to make a re-shuffled version of it.
And if anyone has an eve related directory or something that they don't mind having this hosted at would be awesome, if you do could you send me a mail in game please. Otherwise it'll just be going up on eve-files (thanks Chribba)
Also the new version of this will be posted in the MyEve forum (as well as here) when its done.

I will be releasing a .psd version soon for anyone who wants to get this printed. As for the sub-capital edition of the shipchart, that will be put on hold for now as I may have a couple of other options that will turn out a lot cooler.

I hate to nitpick and I'm sure it's been pointed out before but the Mael is ~1400m long and the Niddy is ~4000m, thus should be just under 3 times longer yet the image shows them approximately the same. Well Mael is shorter, but not by much :/ _______________________________________________ "Everyone knows that Amarr BS's only have high slots, low slots and Cap Recharger II slots." |

lol, it is to. I know what I mixed up though, niddy is 2047m, not 4027m. I must've typed the 2 and the 4 in the wrong order
nice spotting though, I don't think it's been pointed out before, I think I'll have a careful check over all the names and dimensions tonight to make sure I haven't messed anything else up.

That's really cool.
One thing I don't get though, if all the size information is in the game files, why does the game overview get it so horribly wrong? e.g. all Battleships except the Apocalypse and Abaddon are smaller than Battlecruisers, and all are 500m in length.... --------------

Looking at the Iterons on this chart just reinforces my opinion that CCP have a borked look-up table. I mean, seriously; look at them. It's obvious that the IV should be the I, I the II, II the III, III the IV. I think they just made this mistake early on in development and now refuse to own up to it.
Either that, or the IV comes equipped with a TARDIS in the hold, a not entirely ridiculous idea, considering the loopy volume mechanics of Secure Containers.

From what I can tell the only difference between the two is there's no jpeg corruption on the psd version. The psd should be just as sharp as the jpg, the jpg is taken straight from the psd after all.
And the subcap chart is on the way, however it will get done when it gets done, I'm not currently playing eve and I'm busy with school stuff. So the shipchart currently has a much lower priority than everything else. I'm also waiting for the new fighter bomber models to show up on the Singularity client so I can extract them, I currently only have the Gallente and Caldari bombers. The size of the ships on the subcap chart is about 3x bigger than the current chart. With no capitals at all.

Just a quick shipchart update, I worked out there is a flaw in my dimensions, they are actually half what the chart currently lists. So a Megathron is not 1006 meters long, it is actually 503 meters long. In the next version I will correct all the dimensions, add the Zephyr and possibly improve the shaders.

Yep, I intend to go back and change the background of the sub-cap chart. That should fix the contrast issue. Also, the Bustard is (as you said) a modified Badger II hull, hence I won't include it on these versions of the shipchart.

i just measured Megathron, using two minmatar shuttles at each end. to reduce perspective error i used minimum FOV. distance between shuttles was 857m. however, distance at which they show to be at 0 is about 150m (assuming, shuttle size is 24m). so, megathron at 1000m can't be bad call.
why would you think there is flaw in your chart?

edit: Megathron length
Thanks for that screenshot, I think I might do some measuring in game myself. I took the dimensions from the in-game 3D models, but I believe I made a scaling error when importing them. I will probably base the dimensions off the pilots in the fighter drones, that seems to be the best reference to real-world dimensions. After checking the size of the pilots I realised they were twice the size of a normal person, I therefore believe I need to halve the size of the imported ships, resulting in a 503m Megathron.

don't fix CCP's inconsistencies. they made ships the way we have them. yes, it makes no sense. but it doesn't have to, either. those pilots in fighter/bombers are probably off scale.
unless CCP changes scale of models in-game, your chart is correct.

PS null is there any chance there are scimatics (load out views) of those ships and which is a Race ship and which is a Faction ship? It would help nobs like myself known if they are buying a faction ship navy issue ship or faction ship etc. I also just donated a few isk to your account if I can figure out how to and where you are. thanks again

Thanks, Davik!
I've still got the original ship chart (the one without Tier 3 BS's on it) on my wall. The drafting instructor at my old school printed it off in massive poster format as my graduation gift :D

Is there a way to get these very very beautiful and super awesome charts in vector graphics? I dunno if CCP ever published vectored ship models but it would be super cool to zoom into the picture and get all the details on the smallest of crafts.
