Truly clever people don't go rubbing their cleverness in other people's faces. Thus, they don't get socially excluded. ____________________

Sweetcakes, if I was to say what I was actually thinking, I'd get banned.
Look, I'm prepared to believe that you're moderately intelligent in abstract subjects like maths. But from what I've seen of you in this forum, that's the limit. You can't construct an argument, you don't understand logic very well at all, and your "social intelligence" is non-existent. If you go around telling everyone what a genius you are and what a lowlife chavs****moron they are for not falling to their knees in gratitude for the chance to perceive Your Holy Radiance, then for damb sure you'll be persecuted. It's nothing to do with your living in a "**** country", and everything to do with you having the personality of a baboon. People from all over the world post on this forum, and I haven't noticed a single person commenting on your evident genius other than yourself. You might want to consider that evidence.
Until such time as you can find the country that is waiting for and will recognise you as it's messiah, I suggest you get over yourself. Your life will be far more pleasant if you stop whining to all and sundry about how you, at age 18? 19? aren't treated as the man-god you think yourself to be.

Edited by: Dr Slaughter on 28/12/2008 11:18:09 Ilkley. Great place. Spent much of my childhood holidays running around that moor or traveling futher up the dales. Was confused with the option to use Euro's at White Wells the last time I visited it but.. I suggested that the only thing I would buy from them with Euro's was some Lancashire Tea.
With regards Genius, I think it's common scense that's the important bit and it's a crying shame that such a fantastically beautiful country has been let down so badly by the people running it (who because we don't have proportional representation (thank god, well, in-theory) are entrusted by us to run it properly). If the UK's status-quo actually had some common scense and applied it... well it might be a lot better.

Half the problem comes from the people at the top who can't think past their own wallets. While those who work for them get meagre handouts that are nowhere near inflationary figures, those at the top are giving themselves 30% or more and then saying that the company can't afford to keep some of the workforce. Amazingly, they manage to find this out around Christmas and I know of quite a few who got a redundancy letter as a christmas gift from their bosses. It seems that we have to constantly tighten our belts further to allow the company to survive while the fat cats become even more wealthy than they were last year.
Not only company bosses but also government officials are awarding themselves 30% pay rises. If they need so much more to live on, what the hell do they expect the low paid workers to live on? 30% of 100K is 30K or 2500 per week and the workers get a meagre 3% of 15K which equates to 450 or 37.50 per week. Their pay rises alone are equal to 2 workers wages for the year.
I'm not against them getting a pay rise as their standard of living is much higher but let's face it, there is such a thing as double standards. If it's costing them 30% more to live, it's costing the low paid workers at least 30% more too.
On top of this, the authority's misuse of public funds and constant waste of public money means we get lumbered with a tax rise on top of the excessive inflation. Just affording to live on a low income now has never been so hard since the depression of the 30's and it doesn't look to be getting any better.

I see your point, its a shame really that the social outcome of all this is a degraded and disregarded society, to the point that neighbours have little to no conversation.
and the feeling of not fitting in and loneliness has risen in the UK.
Out of interest how would you support or improve on somebody's standard of living?
One idea i came up with is this.
Fab labs would be a great bonus to small towns and villages, it gives the kids and teenagers something other to do then drinking and causing anti social behavior in there spare time. While increasing the education and well being of local residents.
I really should ***** to somebody higher up to get something like this pushed, all it requires is a small factory one of payments of machines and a maintenance cost per year.
and the next logical step after that, is to turn a empty bit of land into a race circuit and use the fab lab as a mechanics workshop. (and before the nanny state even says ANYTHING there is nothing wrong with a bunch of blokes getting there hands dirty and doing up an old car to race with - this needs to be encouraged but for the love of god something better then a NOVA, i have nothing against a scubby though )
so instead of boy racers ripping up streets, they could be ripping up a circuit and earn money for it as well as future job prospects.
but meh thats just another idea.. or another use for a fab lab (i can think of tons)
Seriously if i had to speak to a goverment Representative about how practical and useful a fab lab would be the my local area, i could pull it off easy. i would have them eating out of my hand lol.
These things are better then fried bread.

Well to be fair if you do lurk on these forums, then you would know i wasn't calling myself a genius, i was called a genius by my peers and elders. those people i should be looking up to right?
Thats why i have my huge dislike for the English. Shouldn't people lead by example? or atleast set an example of acceptable things within a society?

Originate: Somalia. The biggest ****hole on the planet. Fact. Currently: Cardiff, South Wales.
Believe me, there is no way the UK is such a trashhole as you claim it to be. Or anyone does, yes, things are bad. But believe me, here in Britain we get things so much easier/better than other nations do. You'd be surprised.

For a start: 1. Set-up a small business bank run by the government with the specific purpose of lending to SMB to support their expansion and cash flow. Have it compete directly and agressively with the banks who won't lend us the money we just gave them. 2. Write off 2007-2009 Corporation Tax for companies with less than 100 staff. 3. Forget to re-introduce income tax in April but possibly remember again in April 2012 or so. 4. Get consumer energy business up and running in the UK. Just like the Germans have done with Solar and try to get all our energy costs down.
Now that Government doesn't have any cash it needs to make some quick...
5. Possibly leave the EU but structure some sort of deal under article 3. 6. Introduce the death penalty for various crimes including FRAUD. 7. Any non-EU Citizen who need NHS treatment, must pay for it with a valid insurance policy. If they can't pay they're stabalized and returned to their home country (for free) but with their passport stamped for no-return for some arbitarirly large number of years (let's say 15). 8. 2 months unemployement benefit. Then you get a job or starve. 9. Local Council / Highways / other infra-structure 'work gang' jobs provided for anyone who's starving. 10. Get rid of our Nuclear deterant. It costs a fortune and we can't use it without US approval in anycase, and if they don't mind us using it you can pretty much be sure they would be using theirs anyway. 11. Reduce all civil servant salaries over ú100k to ú60k plus upto ú40k bonus (remember there's no income tax anymore) starting 2010, so they have 1 year to de-leverage their private schooling/houses/flash cars and get back to serving the people rather than their own pockets.
Totally mad I know.
