A corp mate once said "hey Gee, nice BS btw", as I dropped out of warp next to him in my Mammoth. "This is an Indy mate" I said. That was about 1 month ago, and the 1st time since release I actually took a second look and realised "you know, this could easily look like a battleship" :D

I remember when I was travelling in my frigate and i saw a mammoth, i looked at that thing and I was like, Ohh my that must be the typhoon such a nice looking BS!!!

Oh yes, the Mammoth has something special about it. I've always thought they look majestic in some strange way when they glide towards the gates.
And even if it's off topic I have to say I don't think the Dom is ugly. It just looks like it means serious business. And the detail of the textures is simply great.

Yes - the Mammoth has the feel of Gallente input in Megathron sense but not Iteron likeness and also the drone bay opening at the bow.
I would keep the Typhoon model or my "Golf Bag" as I call it.
I would trash the Tempest model - it looks so good from the front, OK from behind but utterly pathetic from the side, and it is so vertical that it doesn't even fit into Minmatar stations. However, in light of recent game mechanics changes you don't see as many around anymore - there's certainly a glut of Tempest BPCs on the escrow market - so perhaps it would help if it looked better. I refer to the Tempest as "The marriage of an ironing board and a TV aerial who met in an industrial accident"

but the merlin and the kestrel are two of the coolest looking frigates in game... hell, IMO the Punisher/Executioner/Inquisistor/Tormentor/Bantam/Condor/Kestrel/Heron/Merlin/Tristan/Breacher/Rifter/Slasher/Vigil are great looking frigates with their own personality... And the blackbird/caracal are sweet looking cruisers. But lets not talk about how good looking the arbirtator is

Yeah, I'd agree that the Mammoth graphic should replace the tempest for the big minmater BS. The Temtest looks like a floating heap. I personally like the Typhoon though, reminds me of a giant cannon. I remember the when I was a little noob, just after I bought my first bantam flying into an astroid belt to mine. There was this huge Mammoth there, was scared for a good 30 mins that it would kill me.
I have mixed opinions about the merlin. But the Rifter, Punisher, Kestrel, Heron, Tristan, Slasher, Vigil, Executioner and the Ceptor versions are definetly cool looking. Now almost all the Caldari cruisers except the Caracal look like total crap. And the caldari BS's might look cool if they were more symetrical, think the scorp would rock if it had two symetrical wings.

Same thing happened to me when i first got my mammoth, dropped out of warp into a small mining op my corp was having and they all said. 'WOW! when did u get a bs! its 10 times the size of my frigate!' then i told them it was an indy and they still wondered

I say make a new mammoth design and add in the mammoth as one of the destroyer class ships.
That way we both get what we want :)
