I have to agree that Minmitar ships look more "industrial" in design.
The Caldari ships always come close to looking cool...but then fall short. I kind of like assymetrical design, but it seems a bit much on some ships...but I guess that is subjective.
And you can also see that mose of the ships are very organic and animal like. That may sound redundant, but what I mean is some look like metal incarnations of animals and some are very assymetric and "natural" looking.
Some Caldari examples...
Moa: Looks like a dinosaur. Long neck with slat-like vertebrae.
Caracal: A bird ( i hate this design because whil other caldari ships are bulky, the caracal looks sickly and weak; but I love the punch it delivers!)
Blackbird: Nothing like an animal at all..very military like...I love this ship. Looks like a carrier with the runway cut off.
Osprey: Another bird, witha really butt and a tiny head. At first I hated it, but now its growing on me.
So getting back on topic, the Mammoth looks like the quintessential battleship you would expect to see in a space-faring game. It jsut seems a shame it has been relegated to hauling stuff across the cosmos.

CCP should add Q-ships. They would scan as indies but be capable of mounting cruiser class weapons.
I want to fly a Mammoth into battle. :D

You mean like special ops?
The Industrial right next to you could be in fact a pirate! HomeWorld 2 style anyone?

I would love to fly a Qship.
Although the only reference i have is from the Honor Harrington Books series and if i rember corretly they didnt mount many guns but jetisoned a dozen or so remote missle pods from the hold and had the fire control to saturated thier target.
Now Missle pods would be nice. (although unrealistic in Eve (lag) i would still like to ambush some gate campers by spawning several hundred light missles at them in one savo from an indie - now that would be worth a screen capture)

Edited by: corporal hicks on 30/07/2004 04:12:22 It's just because it kind of reminds me of the Galactica. So I guess SIGNED
Also the mammoth is one of the only minnie ships that looks like its was not made on Blue Peter from a used washing up liquid bottle and double sided sticky tape.
Now Minmatars allways get a Grown up to help you when using scissors

Lets attack this from another angle.
I have from the very start suported a secondary industrial type ship,
the mining ship.
Its size would be rivaling if not larger than the largest battleships, it would have a reasonable dronebay, a good cargohold, capacity for several mining lasers.
why not push for having the mammoth reclassified as such a ship?
