My fitting has not been changed for month. Normaly when using my shieldbooster, the capacitor stabilzes at aprox. 35%. When switching on my afterburner additionaly, the cap runs dry. Recently, when switching on my booster the cap settles at 70%... with afterburner i get the announcement: "your capacitor is empty" while the cap STILL SHOWS 40 % !! ... so it looks like its an indication problem of the cap. Anyone else encountering the same issue? Any suggestions how to solve the problem? Docking, warping, reloging, rebooting and so on did not help at all.
Regards

It's doing it to me as well.... managed to wapr out of a mission with 17% structure because my armour reps turned off due to low cap despite my cap displaying at 40%. |

Only had this once before, maybe 2 weeks ago. Was unable to activate Shield booster due to lack of cap. Kept getting the message (or something like it) "Unable to activate shield booster because you only have 100 units of cap and you need 200". The numbers and wording are relatively arbritary. Can't remeber exactly, but you get the drift. During this my cap said it had about 30% left.
Weird, but I put it down to a weird desync at the time. Maybe there is more to it. |

Yes, that happened as well to me when warping in a frig, so this effect is not related to a single ship type or configuration. Btw... we have now 3 threads adressing the same problem... |

Can you guys list hardware, Motherboard type, CPU, graphics card and any additional soundcards etc?
This used to happen with nForce 2 motherboards since there was some wierd hardware bug in those. Cannot remember what people did to fix it back in the days though. Maybe an google search will shed some light on this. _

Tell me how exactly do you know this is true? And don't tell me your pc is so awesome because even the most awesome hardware might still have small bugs causing things like this.
Please, list your motherboard / CPU so we can rule out hardware problems, If everyone has different chipsets / cpu's then CCP really has something to look at. Else, they still have to look at it using a pc with the specific hardware so they can replicate the problem. _

to many people are having this problem to be hardware specific.

That's what people said with the old motherboard sync issue - it's not a big deal -just say what freaking motherboard and cpu you've got! (more if you cba)

I am getting this too, cap showing like 40% on a BS, yet activating repper telling me that I dont have the 400 cap needed... No fatalities yet, but very annoying.
Running Athlon X2 5200 on a MSI K9NU Neo V board with the rare Nvidia M1697 chipset that prolly noone else here has, so I doubt that this will be the problem. |

Happens to me constantly, usually relogging helps for me though. Very annoying while missioning, not knowing what the real capacitor status is. I usually get "25% module lag" -bug on the same time i.e. while mining, using strip miner if i deacivate it, it doesnt stop until 25% of the "extra" cycle and the ore appears in the cargohold only after that.

Both the motherboards reported now have an nVidia chipset, so it might just be the old bug returning somehow... _

Same bug here...
A64 3.8+; nv4 chipset.
Cap sits @ 28/30% and tells me it's empty. tried the 2006 bugfix for the bios clock and system clock, but didn't fix it. |

I've got this bug aswell, can't use capacitor sometimes when I run only one Medium Armor Repairer II (uses 160cap/cycle) on my Ishtar even if I have 500+ (44%+) capacitor left. It just announces something like "Medium Armor Repairer II requires 160.0 units of charge. The capacitor has only 152.4 units."
The bug seems random as between undocks and docks it happens or it doesn't. It is very annoying especially in fights.
Here's my system: O/S: Windows XP Professional SP3 Motherboard: Asus P5K Deluxe Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz Memory: 4GB Kingston ValueRAM 800MHz GFX-card: Asus nVidia GeForce 8800GTX 768MB All drivers are up-to-date. |

I have the same problem. The game keep telling me my my cap is depleted, but by the looks of it i still have cap left according to the cap-display ingame.
This happends for me when the cap is at 43%, if i remove my five cap recharges i have the same problem at 12%. So the whole idea is that the game works just fine but the cap seem to be tuned in wrong, resulting in a 43% error of cap, depending on my cap rechargetime.
I only have this problem on my Dominix, my Abaddon is not affected by this to the best of my knowledge.
I have tried: Docking/undocking Login/out Resting eve Clear cache in the ingame-meny Clear cache manually
Running a: Intel Q6600 Quad 2.4 Ghz Geforce GTX260 Asus Striker ii (NVIDIA nForce« 780i) Windows Vista 64-bit |

I tried the info from KISOGOKU's link above (this was a problem back in 2006) The solution in the link is basically this: sync the mobo to windows / sync windows to the net. Also too I disabled Spread Spectrum Control in the bios and recleared the cache again as detailed in the link. The problem persists, namely (for me) cap shown at 25% left but actually 0% therefore modules go off line. Not good. Not good at all.
I think that you should demand a new ship back for all you guys that have lost out due to this bug. CCP can always stall you with "submit this report and that report.. and we'll cut n paste some answers at our end too"; but the fact is this: it's a server side problem (do you guys agree?) and it's unfair that your hard earned isk has gone down CCP's wormhole.
Mission running /pvp is out for the time being for me. For how long?? |

Fixed it:
This is what I did and I can't identify exactly at what point the cure 'happened' but here's how I did it:
Docked/undocked and docked again. Cleared the cache from ingame. Exit.
Cleared cache by going to c:\docs & settings/<username>/local settings/ccp/Eve then deleting all of the contents.(I copied the contents first though to save some ingame settings > see below). Exit game. (I'd done this before ofc but no joy)
Wait for 3mins (Grismar recommends this on his site to sync somehow with the Eve server)
Enter game and see if it works.. at this point it did for me and the problem had been fixed. Go shoot a roid with all modules on and cap out to see if problem is still there.
If this works then copy over/overwrite the settings folder from the one you backed up to the live one in documents & settings/etc. That's the folder that contains all the *.dat files.
I really hope this helps for you guys.

We are looking into this internally, though we are still unable to reproduce it on our end.
When you folks first noticed this, what had been going on at the time?
I.E.
Did you jump through a stargate, or use a jumpclone, or recently assemble your ship, or patched EVE for the first time since the latest patch was put out. ____________________________ I break things.Ö
