Personaly I like to chain spawns. I give it a little bit of time if I see him in a new ship 15 minutes later he is fair game in my book. But I don't ransom so maybe there is some ransom etiquette that I do not know of.

Rifter would not be able to survive any amount of time. Niether will the wolf and if you use a Bomber that will cost alot and unless you know they are carring something really good would most likely mean no profit and heavy losses and not garantee...
