Because arbitrary rules are bad. Supercaps already have enough of them. The game doesn't forbid you to fit a 100mn afterburner on a cruiser hull, it just makes it very difficult and while you get massive speed you trade off in maneuverability and...

Why not extend this even more and store one perfect insta for each jump (collectable from a can next to the gate?) server side then you would only need to keep track of which players or corps owned which bookmarks.
