1. Eve is too hard - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Edited by: Qaed on 26/06/2007 01:07:28 Game mechanics are probably easier now than they used to be, but todays new players have to compete against 30+ million skill point characters PVP-ing in ships that probably didn't even exist when you guy...

2. The Nature of EVE online. (to all whining about suicide ganking etc) - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I believe the reason why people complain about high-sec ganking is because industrials, transports and freighters have no defensive capability (and "Bring a friend!" isn't a counter-argument because it doesn't work). Players flying those ships a...

3. Discussion: Risk Vs Reward (again) - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Cipher7 The drone regions. What a stupid concept. Not only does it remove any fun factor from ratting (ie, looking through the wrecks and finding a nice arbalest launcher), but it also depresses mineral prices. They shoul...

4. Carebear Troubles - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
A mid-range Indy with 3 cargo expanders can hold ~11k cargo, and with WTZ and DTZ can dock and warp back before your next mining cycle. You can get an alt to Indy 3, Hull Upgrades 1, Mechanic 1 in less than a day.

5. New York Times article on gold farmers - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
What I've never understood was why game designers don't account for this type of activity and sell resources directly to players. It could be done easily, and have less economic impact than the one gold farmers create. Plus, we wouldn't have anyw...

6. Noob Corps - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]

8. Noob Corps - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Just go back to low-sec. All the things you are complaining you can't do in hi-sec, you can do in low-sec, risk free. Of course, low-sec is a suck-fest that no one goes to, but I doubt you guys will bother putting 2 and 2 together.

9. Noob Corps - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Sounds like your problem isn't noob corps then, but high-sec and the lack of salvage aggro.

11. EVE Online is prohibitive to new players. - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Speaking as a noob... Disagree that the game is prohibitive to new players. It's actually pretty easy to progress in EVE. Agree that a lot of the players who hang around empire are jerks. Unfortunately, low-sec is even worse. In summary: Give t...

12. So level 5s will be lowsec only? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]

13. Lowsec repopulation and Ore redistubution - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Thuul'Khalat Increased population = less risk Don't be too sure about that. I'm betting the pirate population would explode if a lot more people spent time in low-sec.

17. Reduce the risk to low sec mission running, aka populate the desert. - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'm just a newb, but I agree with the OP. It's not that running missions in low sec should be "safe", but that I don't see any risk for people who pirate mission runners in low sec. All they have to do is wait for the right opportunity. That may...
