System Restore worked for me in XP. Go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore From there select a restore point prior to applying the Trinity path. Note however that this will most likely kill you EVE...

Figure out what you are doing in a standard T2 fit Raven first, get to know the missions, then jump to the faction fit variety to speed things up. If you screw up running a mission the first time you'd be better of losing a cheap raven than a CNR.
