For the installer you need the 7z file. For the patches, you only need the one file as this is an archive version that includes both files in one.

Hey Mephysto, your beta download is broken. The OS X disk mounter is reporting that there are no mountable filesystems found...

Ok, I have a new one being built that will match tomorrows Singularity update. Unfortunately I cant get a replacement for you any sooner. Will remove the link until I can confirm a new (working) version is available.

...install the 'complete' client? i.e. you dont need to patch it into an existing copy of the TQ folder for it to work? right?
What i've just done is downloaded the installer and directed it via a manual instal directory to the folder i usually have my SiSi client. (which i've removed because im getting the CTD at splash screen issue)

The 7z file is 2.1Gb?
I'm trying a fresh update from TQ, so I tried to get the TQ-82390 file, but the file is not found on this server. (404) (Oh, the exe file linked to above also gets a 404.
I was hoping that downloading these files directly would speed up the process, but the download of the 7z file is still running at 500kbps.

I've got Problem with the ptahcer since his frist release... Patcher do not download... he's flashing like he scan my system for a file... runs at 100% CPU load.. then stops and nothing else happens...
Does the patcher make a log or something were i'm able to see the background process, cause i can't give you a bugreport withot any Infos about the Problem..
My machine: AMD 3000+, 1GB ram and nforce 2 chipset... maybe there are some hardware conflicts...
Running OS: Windows XP Prof. with SP3...
EDIT: added bugreport No: 72417
Maybe you can add a details function or something like that into the patcher

ok something is very wrong with the new patcher, specifically the TQ - 82390 patch.
i've downloaded it (which took a STUPIDLY long amount of time considering my bandwidth) and gone to fire up the installer, to which it makes windows stop responding (pic attached) the installer also doesn't have the same icon as the other installers i've downloaded.
The first time i tried to install the patch, it made explorer.exe stop responding, which basically means i had to restart the whole dam computer via the CTRL-ALT-DLT menu... which isn't good atall....
this second time i'm trying to install via the patcher the very same thing is beggining to happen again... firstly, windows stoped responding but came back, and the 'are you sure you want to run this programme' box took AGES to pop up, when its supposed to be almost instantanious, this delay was also causing my comp to become rather unstable and really slow. i've since clicked the yes i want to run the programme button and nothing has come up, my CPU is going into overdrive and allot of 'something' is going on in the background... its been over 5 minutes and no patcher has appeared, the window i clicked on the installer icon to run it is not responding and greyed out, and i know if i go to try to dissable it via task manager it's going to make explorer.exe stop working again...
in closing th.... oh woa... ok the installer just popped up as i was writing this...
anyway, in closing, something is up with the installer. it eats to much resource and obviously doesnt bond well with vistas OS (all other patchers and install.exe's i';ve downloaded have worked fine)
(Edit - at this very moment EVERYTHYING is running UBER slow, as in the letters don't even appear untill 5 seconds after i type and the mouse is 'hopping' about when i move it, the patcher is running under firefox window on the desktop as i [try to] type)

Bugreports with the DXDiags attached are gratefully recieved. I'll pass them to the developers on Monday morning and see whats going on.
Is this the first patch you've tried? If not, have the other installers been ok?

yes, sorry i didn't mention that in my previous post.
I have been patching manually right from the really old SiSi before the Apocrypha updates.
It was working fine up until the patch to update to version 81170 in which i began to get the CTD at splash screen bug that i have been troubleshooting in this thread.
Some things i have done are completely remove the SiSi client )from the alternate eve folder i have the SiSi client installed into) so it becomes an empty folder. and use the installer to version 81762 linked in this thread to install to that folder and then update via the manual patch to version 82390. As i've had a problem using the new patch from TQ - 82390 i mentioned previously.
All other patches hav been working fine... it is only the patch i mentioned previously that has the issue.

Under Linux + Wine, the patcher for the last 2 updates of Sisi doesn't work downloading the batch via BITS. Worked correctly before that. Sorry, forgot the exact version number...  But download is broken since about the 23rd.
Current symptoms is the download window gets continually refreshed on the downloading page.
The hope is Linux users will not be shafted by having a working Eve Premium graphics using Wine, but patcher doesn't work.

Yes, the evepremiumpatch82390-82565_test_arc.exe patch worked for me. It seems that the file must be placed in the EVE directory, else the patcher won't find the extracted files, and tries to start downloading.

Downloaded the combined patch and it works perfectly. Prior to the combined patch, the manual patches worked perfectly as well. Downloading worked as well until about last 3 Sisi versions.
I'm not certain what changed in the patcher (haven't investigated it), but it may have something to do with looping of redraw rather than a problem with actual downloading code.

There is only one client; the Premium client. It will just scale to accommodate for whether your GPU can do Shader 3.0 or not.

As someone who managed to sneak a peek at the client Mephysto uploaded before it was pulled, here's what was wrong:
1) It didn't launch. Starting it up via the GUI simply failed. I had to crack open the app bundle and start Cider manually.
2) Being undocked caused a system-wide conniption fit that was basically no better than a complete system crash. Even if I recovered, the system was so screwy that other 3D applications (e.g. TQ EVE) had the same problem. To be fair I have absolutely no idea how much of this is a global client problem, and how much is limited to my system configuration. YMMV.

I've submitted a bug report already, but I downloaded the last patch for sisi (saturday) and every time I try to load Eve the game crashes. Is there more recent patch that I can download in the meantime to bypass this? Thanks! (Using a PC btw).

I seem to now have some issue with the patcher when it is downloading. It just looks like it keeps refreshing itself (graphically), but it isn't doing anything at all, and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete it.

I tried the 7z link again and it does not work, but it appears to be an issue with using Google Chrome. When I click on the link for the 7z file it goes to a new page with the following error:
This webpage is not available.
The webpage at http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/test/eveonline_82390.7z might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Right clicking on the link and doing save as instead of just a normal click does nothing. I tried the link in Firefox and it worked fine. No idea why Google Chrome doesn't like that link.

Last autopatcher (whatever it is at the moment of this post) had some odd stuff going on behind the scenes.
(1) I have 3 EVE instances installed in directories EVE, EVE-2 and EVESiSi. When I activated SiSi client autopatcher started and downloaded 2.3 gig (went to sleep and it installed overnight)
(2) When cliking on my TQ EVE client shortcut this morning I get instead SiSi Acropyha and Autopatcher will start downloading that 2.3 gig again.
(3) Canceling the download killed clients in 'EVE' and in 'EVESiSi' directories.
Speculation: I think it might go for first EVE directory it finds for install instead of 'correct' directory (from where it was launched). Or it might mess with some other 'global' EVE settings (altho that might be a bit far fetched, as SiSi client is defined afterall in desktop shortcut, not in registry).

I haven't been on SiSi for a while, so I'm somewhat behind on patches.
Started updating via the autopatcher and each successive patch seems to be 2300Mb in size ? Doesn't sound like a patch to me, sounds like a full install each time...
I'm on the 3rd patch now, so I've downloaded 6.9Gb worth of patches so far, lol.
The autopatcher is downloading at around 260-300 Kb/sec, which is painful on my 24Mb bandwidth. I'd be much better off downloading the patches manually and installing them. Why is the autopatcher so slow ? |

I've also had a problem with the Apocrypha client auto-update to 83409 wanting to patch repeatedly, and noted the fact that the very first thing it does is delete the entire /bin/. Which does seem like an odd approach to me, even for a game where an out of date client is useless.
Also running XP Pro 32bit.

it trys to update the screen all the time, bugs out, max's the cpu.
some thing is wrong with it badly.

Although it asks for admin PW, patcher gets stuck on download page, cant even be canceled
Everything is fine when run under admin account, but i wont play eve under an admin account

83552 patched today for some reason.
i tried too log into sisi, auto patcher showed a small 4mb patch and i applied it. now my version for sisi is 83552. is this correct as server shows its offline.

Of note:
The Windows Service named "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" has to be online for these new patches to work.
Smart gamers turn that service off as it is quite rarely used.

When I patch sisi. I'm usually on TQ. If I do that. It will shutdown the TQ clients despite the patcher not touching those clients. Why cant this be changed?

Unable to patch TQ build to Sisi build using the TQ to Sisi patch.

Just deduce the patch. It is named just like other patches. Here's one from 83552 to 83738. Combined (just added _m to filename for normal patch)

I'd like an option so we can choose NOT to delete the patch file. So if I have to update multiple clients that are in different folders, I don't need to redownload or copy 2Gigs of stuff.
As you're using NSIS, I'm quite sure that's not that much a problem to add.

Oh and I forgot another thing : DON'T PUT THE RTP FILE IN THIS DAMN DOCUMENT & SETTINGS crap. The patches at the beginning of the Acro tests were not putting it there but in the cache folder. So at least I could copy it to my other eve folders while it was patching and all other clients could be patched right away without downloading anything again.
Now I'll have to race to this D-S to copy it elsewhere and put it back for the next client.
Stop following VISTA idiocy for once. Either an option to "Don't delete patch file at the end" or put it back in cache folder.
(Note that it could be the reason you're having trouble with the userlevelauth by doing it the way you did last time).

If you don't like it going there, change the %temp% environment variable in your OS.

Also... EVE Patches on the left hand side has Multiplicity... Afaik multiplicity was supposed to be a test server for TQ. Thusly no patches? Even then... it hasnt been public for awhile has it?

Yea that I can do - but you can't ask the whole player base to do that. You just spoke chinese to them  And it's not a solution to the behavior of the patch.

Same here, my bug report on the issue is reported as "non-reproducable"
I fear I won't be able to patch to Apocrypha when it is released to the live server if this continues.
Also there is no RTP file.

3 times now I downloaded and 3 times the file is corrupt... getting a bit sick of it...
The downloader app should check each packet for hashfails, not only after it downloaded 2 GB of data.
(or at least every few MB like bittorrent parts)

It seems the installer got set to connect to TQ instead of Singularity. Create (or edit) a shortcut for singularity, and add this switch to it: /server:87.237.38.50.
so your shortcut target line should look like: c:\<Singularity folder>\eve.exe /server:87.237.38.50

For those having trouble downloading automatically, you can get a single, compiled file. goto this page, copy the link generated when you select your from build, and add: "_m" to the end of the patch link. ie, the pacth link should look like:

My Singularity client (i.e. 83913) mentioned once, the newer version 83982. I was able to fudge around with the link until I found something.
Access to "http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/test/" is "Forbidden".

In regards to the patch putting you to Tranquility instead of Sisi: what you need to do is have a shortcut to your sisi exe file. Right click go to properties then change the target to: ...EVE\eve.exe /server:87.237.38.50

meh, doesn't appear to be anyway around this problem...

These errors occur during the "creating download job" section.
The last folder name had a space in the name "test eve". Changed this to "test_eve" to remove the spaces and everything is working fine for anybody else that is having the same problem. (Sadly found this AFTER updating every driver in the world, disabling firewall, virus etc. etc. etc.) Oh well, can't wait to get back on.

What is the switch to set it back to Singularity?

As has been stated numerous times, and is in the "how to connect to the test server FAQ", put "/server:87.237.38.50" at the end of the command line. It's also answered 2 posts above yours.

You need to end the quotes before the server command. It should look something like this...

I have version 83884 installed but am unable to patch to the latest. When loading Sisi, the game complains of the wrong version (obviously) but never attempts to patch. Patches for 83884 to the next version seem to be unavailable (not on CCP servers).
What do I do?

I copied the client into separate directory and then downloded the auto-patcher. Like before when it was supposed to start downloading the patch it crashed and my Vista just closed the whole thing. I can live with that when it comes to SiSi, but with just two days left before the patch deployment I worry I might end up with no working patch at all. So my questions are:
- can I somehow fix it?
- if there is a flaw in the downloader will it be fixed before patch deployment?
- will there be manual download avaialable or just the 'new improved one'?

I have reinstalled multiple times, and re-copied multiple times, and downloaded that patch more times than I can count and get this:
Client files do not match the files in the update, this indicates that your installation is corrupt. Please reinstall eve online.
Please help, I've resinstalled twice and still get this.

well i have everything that i need to get it working problem is it doesnt work.........

i run the updater and it just sits at creating download job....
let it sit there for like 32 hours and nothing..... such a sad day oh and i been tryin to get this updated since the 4th

Hey! Your patch is ok :) After you patched your sisi client the target server was reset to Tranquility (Even my Sisi Shortcut was reset).
You just need to re-add the following to your shortcut: (Using your game file location)
G:\Games\sisi\eve.exe /server:87.237.38.50

I had same problem.
(1) Activate SiSi shortcut (on desktop)
(2) Incomatible version, full 2.4 gig download
(3) Download and install latest build
(4) While this time the 'main' EVE directory was not nuked (C:/EVE for me) the SiSi patch modified shortcut on desktop to point into SiSi installation (C:/SiSi for me).
After manually changing the TQ client shortcut back to point to TQ installation it's all ok. So again minor annoyance.

Made a test of sorts: I started up my WinXP fitted laptop and initiated SiSi client download - everything works fine. The main PC with Vista64 on board still crashes after choosing the location where I want to install EVE. Pity my laptop probably will no longer support EVE due to CCP's urge to get more shinyness into game.
I would really apreciate some Dev even acknowledging the problem and saying that something is being done about it.

can anyone please please help, ive been trying to get on for days now but have had no joy, im running vista 64bit ultimate os. when ever i try and update from version 83552 the little auto installer downloads no problem i then search for my test folder so that the patch will install there. when i have selected it i then get the old windows box comming up saying that eve auto installer has stopped working and will restart.
i can patch to 83552 from tq no problem but not after that, is there a link anywhere that you can manually download the actual patch and not the auto installer? (the 900kb file) as my copy of vista does not like the auto installer at all, unless anyone has found a work around for this?

Hey I'm running the same OS as you, I'm sorry I don't have the link or the test version but I had to install the patch directly after 83552 to be able to install the later ones. Once you find that it may work or you can follow the suggestion by CCP to install from current TQ (if you get install errors) with the full sisi patch installer found on the eveonline website.

cheers dude, its the patch after 35882 that im having problems finding. if i could find the patch manually then i would be ok, unfortunately if you do what ccp say and try patching from the latest TQ version (which i have tried) it only updates to 35882 then you hit the same problem again.
also ccp say that you should
"With the present singularity installer, if you get an error, and then click the provided link in it to go to the download page for the fallback installer, it will take you to the TQ download page. Please ensure you check the version you are downloading is the correct one.
The autopatch system should now correctly point you at the fallback compiled downloader if it fails."
unfortunately since it crashes when trying to install to the folder location you dont get a link and when you go to the patches page on here it is only current to 35882 not about that, if you try and patch higher you only get the auto install patch.
makes me think that when they release the full version tomorrow people with vista aint going to be able to play. ccp please say that aint so?

The build number 83884 doesn't exist and there is (from what I'v learned) no way to patch from 83884. Apparently these have either not been build or not been uploaded.
I was in the same position yesterday and I ended up repatching from the TQ build.

Awhile back when devs were actually posting stickies with bug fixes and reports for each patch and they were putting up .rtp files I was actually able to use these .rtp files to successfully patch Sisi. Originally the auto patcher that launched due to incompatible builds would always fail and after a few build revisions I was able to again use Sisi's autopatcher for incremental updates. Last night I got a patch that worked, this morning I patched that worked. Than 84063 released and I got no autopatcher in Sisi, so I came to the site downloaded the incremental patcher and ran it. Got the same appcrash everyone else is getting when using Vista and the patcher closed. I deleted the Sisi directory and copied new install over and downloaded TQ-84063 patch.
Same crash, installer does not work and has never worked with the patches downloaded off this site, the only patches that worked were the patches Sisi initialized or the old .rtp/exe files. Unfortunately I do not have any old working patchers and am dead in the water with no ability to update. Hopefully expansion day I can download a full client install for TQ with the expansion otherwise with the current "Fail-Patcher" ccp forced on us I wouldn't be able to play. Unless they make the full client download through the same system.
As for the MOTD on Sisi and OP of this post there is no fall back link because the Fail-Patcher CRASHES. So how about you post the link here on the page for us to utilize instead of hiding it away, it as if you don't want anyone to play your game?

I can't patch, because I get an error telling me the client files don't match the files in the update.
I can't run the full install because it apparently installed but gives me a "CCP Exefile has stopped working" error that no one seems to be able to help me with (see message below).
I've update the drivers, I've installed from a fresh install, I've set the shortcut properly... I'm basically unable to do anything.
I hope this isn't going to be the case with the live client, or CCP is going to lose a customer due to an inability to actually play the game, not by desire.

I'm running Vista x64 and the patch installer kept crashing on me all the time.
This fixed it for me:
Manual patching. When asked to find the install folder, DO NOT hit the browse button. TYPE the location of your Sisi folder instead.
Funny bug.

Ok, here are some points I want to write down, for future improvements.
1. Give the installer a checkbox for an option, to save the patch at a location you can choose and not automatical install it. To patch multiple clients I (and as I see many others) prefer to download the patch once, and than manual patching the clients with it. Today I did a total download volume of 9.8 GB for applying one 1,4 GB patch to 6 clients )downloaded 7 times, the 7th time to repair a destroyed client, see pt. 2). Thats absolute crap.
2. The installer doen't check if there is enough free discspace to download/apply the patch! I destroyed one of my clients today with this isuue. The spave would have been enough to patch if I would have had the option to just download it to a drive/folder I could select and apply it manually (see point 1). But the space wasn't enough for the patch to be downloaded within the game directory AND then apply the patch into it too. The estimated required space should be checked, and if the installer detects it isn't enough it should stop before patching anything, destroying the client with applying half a patch.

You don't need multiple copies of the client any more (unless you mean on separate machines). One copy is enough, just run it as many times as you want. If you insist that you need multiple copies then just install/update one and copy the updated version over the top of the others (this even works across multiple machines)

Ok I have version 84063 which the website is telling me is the current version running on SiSi but I am getting a msg on the login screen that tells me Incompatible Version..
Any ideas that don't include downloading the whole thing again.?

I have made a copy of the directory for singularity and applied the /server:87.237.38.50 on the end of the shortcut.
I get incompatible version (running 8.10.84244)
is the server down, is there a new patch?

Hello Mate. Its a bug on eve website prolly with the locales and language stuff. If can see the correct page if i use a US proxy server on my browser otherwise i can only see the old page.

I think I got it. When you open a client thats configured for sisi,of course you get that incompatible protocol status. Click on "patch info" button and it will download the patch.
