Hello.
The suicide ganking of Hulks near the Decon and Sharuveil systems continues. These attacks are being undertaken by members of the Death of Virtue and Chimeras Raiders corps and their allies. Major Reach, his alt Empty Second, Mina Tsukiyama, Glodde, Ronja, and Dave Hourai (amongst others) are the primary perpetrators.
Here is how it works. They fly a gang of five or more blaster-fitted thoraxes, and stage near the Nausschie gate in Sharuveil, or the Balle gate in Decon. Empty Second or another alt then scouts out a belt with miners, and positions himself near one of those ships. He is fleeted with the thorax gang. The gang then jumps into system, warps to the alt, and suicide ganks the Hulk.
Concord does intervene and destroys the gang's vessels. The pirate pods warp back to Decon. On the way they merrily mock the victim. They then prepare to do the same thing over and over again.
Miners and others in nearby systems can take several actions to protect themselves. Some of these include the following
1. Set these corps and individuals to deep red.
2. Watch local carefully
3. Fly with escorts. Particularly interceptors that can catch and pod the pirates before they reach home base.
4. Shift to another system and spread your corp mates into different systems. This complicates the ability of the pirates to reach you, and makes it more likely that interceptors can catch and kill their pods.
5. Check the Death of Virtue and Chimera Killboards. You can easily surmise the systems they are focusing on.
5. Fit tank, and be aligned to a warp out point.
6. Space out your ships, and be wary of other ship parking close by.
7. Spread word of this threat to your friends, corp mates, and other corps.
In addition, do not take this lying down. Self respect means standing up for oneself and for others when you can. So consider lending your help to the Friends of Sharuveil. You can help us militarily, materially and morally in three broad ways.
First, create a pvp character and/or squad and fly with others of similar minds in Sharuveil and Decon. There is specific advice on how to do this properly on the Friends' blog. Second, donate isk, ships, modules and weapons to the Friends. The Deconites are worthy adversaries, and the skirmishes and battles are inevitably costly. Third, let the EVE community know of your support for our work.

why not move your butts to 0.0 where hulks were intended to be used. lots more ore there also. until then stop whining. because, nobody is listening.  |

Could we maybe just get over the whole "Hulks only belong in 0.0" argument. Every time anyone posts about a Hulk kill in empire it's followed by a string of move to 0.0 responses.
Tell 'ya what, I'll relocate my Hulks to 0.0 as soon as all the billion ISK faction fit mission runners do the same. If CCP had intended them to be 0.0 only they would be classed as capital ships.

plz just go put your hulk up and grab a Coveter for a spell. The rocks are so small in high sec that you mine just about the same with one anyways. Becouse the hulk losses so much more m3 everyother cycle then a Coveter. |

Have you tried:
1) Hiring mercenaries/escorts to protect you
2) Moving to a different system (plenty of them available in high sec)
3) Downgrade to an insurable covetor.
Option 3 makes you lose 300m^3 per minute, but on the other hand is much cheaper to lose.

Op first came to shar and declared the place to be some sort of wild life sanctuary, then started smacking us about our pirate lifestyles.
Needless to say blaster fire ensued. Smack rose to intolerable levels, and some of us blocked it.
I believe at one stage, someone in DOV had enough and stated that they'd gank a hulk everytime they saw the OP in local, but really, who needs a reason to gank a hulk other than it's there.
Our kill boards are looking much fatter since these arrogant *****s moved in, so we're happy to have them bring as many people to low sec as want to join them.
Up to now we've been engaging them in t1 cruisers, but some carebears have seen fit to up the anti to BS. Needless to say we've stepped up to that challenge.
Newsflash: water is wet, low sec is dangerous. Read the pop up twice before you jump in and start mouthing off like a ******ed moron.

I especially liked the kill in Vylade, 2 jumps from low sec. PRO.
