This is why you work in teams.
This is the way it's supposed to work. Unfortunately, as the game is coded pirates will always have the upper hand, but resistance is possible.
Pirates enjoy killing for the ISK and for the opportunity to ruin someone's day. EVE is basically a giant griefing machine, so when you mine, plan to grief them back. Which, really, this whole post is about.
Props to you; keep doing what you're doing. Without people like you, there would be nothing to stop piracy from growing unchecked to the point that no new player could gain a foothold.

Why not hire some mercs to keep them locked up in station for a week. Its no fun for them if they cant undock.
Then, send a message to their Corp CEO stating if they dont send 3B ISK to replace your ships you will cont the contract for another week then the price will be 5B isk repeat as often as necessary. hehehehe..
These guys will do it for free for the first week.

Originally by: Delilah Wild Aristotle, the old earth philosopher, once said that men were not adults until they reached the age of 40. Most of the pirate authored posts on this forum demonstrate his insight. I suspect many of the women of EVE, as well as in these boyz real lives, would agree.
There is, however, a method to their adolescent madness. They focus on ship kills as a means of asserting an 'objective standard' for their prowess. And they do so in order to cow high sec industrialists into shying away from overt resistance -- to pay the ransom, to pay the protection racket bribes, to hire pirates to protect your fleets, who will turn around and gank you the next day. (I mean no disrespect to true mercenaries)
Yet the killboards only feature a limited set of statistics, and fail to relate these numbers to the political goals pursued by the Friends. For example, I've lost many frigates to Whispi, but have participated in the destruction of her ships several times over at a cost of hundreds of millions more to her than I. I lost two small ships in Sharuveil last night, but the one pirate I did kill lost more isk than the losses of our 3 person squad.
What I am illustrating here is a fundamental point of asymmetric struggle. Industrialists don't have to win toe-to-toe in a particular skirmish or battle. Rather you slowly whittle down the adversaries material base and fighting morale. While you do so, you gain in skill, strength and experience. Moreover, the very act of resistance makes a political statement about one's values and commitments.
In the case of the Friends, it is to the greater well-being of the people of EVE, as expressed through our struggle against the multiple forms of victimization associated with piracy. And this includes industrialists. Moreover, it is these political values, expressed in words and actions, that are the ultimate source of power in our struggle. For it is these values that will bring together a larger community to defend ourselves and our neighbours.
We need not be reactive, we can be proactive. Contact me in game and lets talk about how we can be of help to one another.
Delilah
I dont know wich kind of drugs your doing, but i sure want some.. First of all you do realize this is just a game... and second's you come into the forums talking **it, lets do this, lets do that, bla bla bla, but all you do is fly punny rifters and breachers, when will you step up and put your actions were your mouth is, i see a bunch of ppl flying with you loosing decent ships, and all you bring to help is always same *rappy ship, you're the real deceiver.. lol if i by some act of insanity ever flyed with you (god forbid) i wouldn't wait for nasty piwates to get you, i would pod you my self.. so stop your whinning and stop to loose other ppl ships.

Resistance is futile but seriously though eve game mechanics don't favour pirates especially in hisec. Nevertheless eve is a game of risk/reward and that's what I love about it - in hisec suicide ganking is the only risk you have and it would suck if ccp made them 'safe zones'. If you don't like the risk element of eve maybe it isn't the game for you (can I haz ur stuff? ) may I suggest hello kitty online? |

Dude, what are you on? CCP is not going to act on this.
Ohh yes the do.. It's on same scale than ganking in Black Ops and then jumping to lowsec.. Don't do it..
Uhuh....
If they warn you, just give ANY reason why you did it other than "I wanted to preload the belt with Concord" and they are powerless and will not act. Besides, how is the ganker even going to know? He is just going to find a belt with a miner and 1 or more concord spawns and a hulk. You think if he petitions that a gm is going to spit through the log files and see if it was an alt of the miner in question? |

Hell, I accidentally got concorded shooting at a hulk in highsec once, because I was too dumb to remember I'd logged off in a 0.5 system and not a 0.4. It's pretty hard to sift the wheat of deliberately preloading a belt with concord from the chaff of people like me having a "special moment".
Ahh though, it was a glorious few seconds there when I thought I really had found a hulk all alone mining in lowsec. I was still worrying he might have a flight of warrior IIs tucked away when I got concorded.

My point exactly, and ppl really think a GM is going to all that trouble just to help out a griefer for something that just MIGHT be done by a miner to protect himself?
I doubt if it even IS an exploit.
But let's say that deliberately preloading a belt is an exploit. Ganker:"ZOMFG YOU PRELOADED THAT BELT WIHT CONCORDZ!1!! PETITIONZZZZ!!!!" Miner:"Hell no, I was on my noob pirate char and tried to gank a hulk but failed." GM:*throws petition in the garbage bin.
BTW, you're last remark about the drones made me lol :)

Heh...looking at the killboard...there's a whole crapload of assorted barges there along with pods...all in .7..just because of a smartbombing megathron. Now tell me, how long did it take for you get to -10.0?
I'm well aware you can still fly around in empire even with outlaw status, but killing 8+ pods in the space of 5 seconds must've brought it down enough.
I did notice most of those kills were either alts or bots...yay for making the belts a bit cleaner. Now only if the hulks weren't fit so badly... |

Originally by: Taedrin Have you tried: 1) Hiring mercenaries/escorts to protect you 2) Moving to a different system (plenty of them available in high sec) 3) Downgrade to an insurable covetor.
Option 3 makes you lose 300m^3 per minute, but on the other hand is much cheaper to lose.
Your missing the point, or maybe Delilah didnt state it. The Hulks arent from Friends of Sharuveil. Major Reach and the others are ganking any and all Hulks. Anywhere they can. If you dont belong to those 3 Corps or their attendant Alliances or friends your Hulk is dead if they are around. I saw them gank a -7 character with a bounty because Delilah made a post. Its not FoS at all, we are try to prevent the ganking of OTHERS in Sharuveil, as well as protecting eachother. To date none of us has mined in-system, but escorted several corps mining who just showed up unannounced. No hostile acts have been perpetrated by the FoS. I got killed accidentally when a new FoS started patrolling in Shar without knowing who I was. Now we have a red/blue list to prevent this as we are not all corp mates. We are from far and wide, just sick of Player ratting. I did the pirate thing for over a year and noticed people turn on eachother monthly. We hope to hear from any who are interested and when online we hope to see those who are on the red list. "Be Seeing You" Kasigi _______________

Only a ceptor could catch a pod coming through a gate, as long as the pod pilot is drunk or asleep or otherwise does something stupid. And I'm sure the ceptor pilot won't mind getting insta popped by the gate guns when he tries to tackle or web or shoot the fail pod. And who needs sec status anyways?
