Definitely not working. What am I doing wrong!

Hi, i think i see where the problem is Account Name is just there to help you differentiate which character you are looking at. I think you can put anything in there - for myself, i have 3 characters loaded, but i've just put their first names in (i.e. Senyru for this char) Account ID this is the short number that is shown on the Eve website API page - it's unique to your account. On that page it is listed as User ID i think API Key this is the long number from the Eve website API page that you used above, so i think you have this one correct.

Sorry for the late reply. Good to know you got it working. I see what you mean about the wording being a bit unclear. I'll rename "Account ID" to "User ID" to match the website.
You don't need to make the "Account Name" field the account name you use to log in, it's just an identifier for those who have multiple accounts.
Did anyone else give the test version a go? What did you think of the buttons? Good? Bad? Useless? Linky Here: Linkage I'm still trying to fix the double click issue.
Also, Gasparek has brought the Leopard version up to speed with the current release. I didn't compile or test this myself, so I can't say how well it works on Leopard, but it works fine for me on Snow Leopard. Link is here: Linkage

I tried it , seems to be working well - but there could do with being an undo function as it's very easy to hit the red button too much and delete more than you wanted to and you're right, you need a small + icon for the green button, a x icon for the red one, and perhaps a small text file icon to be the notes. Also, put the notes in the middle, as another way to preventing users from accidentally deleting a skill instead of increasing it.

Hi,
great app, many THX! Just updated the skill tree for dominion, worked fine.
But I have one problem: So far I only used the app for my own chars. Now I do some recruiting for corp and want to run limited API key checks. However, when I add a second account and click update to get the chars, I always get bad URL. The API info is correct, though, had someone else do the check with the same data in Evemon.
I should point out that this is version 15.3, as I have Leopard and haven't updated since.
Leopard: I'm very happy to hear that someone took on the Leopard support!!! I already feared loosing this great app again, as I can't currently update to Snow Leopard because of other software issues.

Looks nice, although i didnt quite figure out what the yellow one does. Still no showinfo on ships :(

Thanks a lot, this program really helps me making my skill plans.
One thing that you might add is something like an optimizer which tells how high the learning skills should be, I can figure it out myself of course, just a little button for the lazy. Furthermore you could implement the 100% training bonus for characters below 1,6 million SP and the ability to check how implants would affect the length of the skill plan. Besides that everything is PERFECT. The app looks very clean and solid, the UI is easy to use and self-explanatory.

From the original post it explains what the yellow button will be for;

The 100% bonus isn't really that easy to implement. The skill planner code was never designed to do something like that, and adding it isn't a simple task. I'll get around to it, but to do it properly requires a bit of a rewrite.
The implant / attribute modifier is something i've been wanting to do.
Also, I'll put a new release up soon, the button / note code hasn't been finished yet. There's still that issue with clicking too fast i've yet to resolve. so it will be dropped. Mostly this is just a bugfix / tweak release. It does however add the ability to right click on a skill in the plan and increase it to any level. Currently you have to pick it out of the skill list again if you want to adjust the level

Thank you sooooooo much! After wasting my time with wine / darwine / wine bottler etc. etc. etc. to get Evemon to work I found this thread. Great app. just would love to see an option to change the core settings of: willpower, memory, intelligence etc. and how these settings effect skill learning times! You have earned yourself a sticky at the top of the mac forum. Keep up the amazing work! |

I've been using Mac Eve Tools for 2 days now. I really like the UI and the overall feel of the app. Just having some problems now with the skill training functions. In the training queue its not updating any changes I make to my actual training in eve itself. I'm training small projectile turret but switching with shorter learning skill cycles when I'm in EVE. The app is stuck and not updating the training queue. At remaining time: it says 2d 7h 53s / Training: small projectile turret. In the training queue it says: small projectile turret(1x) 5d 23h 18m ?! and is not ticking off (stuck?). When I switch a skills the read out stays the same. I have updated database and reloaded. Ek Ong. |

The app doesn't properly take into account the 100% training bonus that new players have. Until you hit 1.6m skill points you are going to get bogus numbers like that. I don't plan to fix this soon.
Also, switching skills ingame and then hitting refresh won't always update the app. The XML files served by CCPs server have a cache time, which means you need to wait one hour before hitting refresh again. Until the cache expires you won't get any updates made in game. Apart from putting an alert in if you hit refresh too soon there is nothing I can do about that.
The training queue doesn't have a live countdown. It's only drawn once when the page is displayed. I plan to fix this sooner or later, but I don't know when. I wouldn't get too hung up on it. It's only meant as a rough guide.

I've got a new test version for people to play with.
This version has the much requested ship details window. Right click on the ship name in the planner and then click the name of the ship. pretty simple.
This requires an updated database to work properly. You can get this by clicking 'Mac Eve Tools' -> 'check for new database' in the menu bar. This will require you to restart the app a few times.
It's not quite finished and has a few quirks, but please report any bugs you find.

I have, however, been having a problem with the current stable release. You stated earlier on in the thread that we can import EVEMON xml plans, but no matter how I try, I can't import anything. Has importing been disabled, or did it never make it into the release version?
Edit for clarity: I'm having the same problem with the test, but it obviously isn't confined to the test, so therefore I'm having no problems with the test. :D -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not a fig plucker or a fig plucker's son, but I'll pluck figs till the fig plucking's done. |

Oops, that shouldn't even be there. It's not finished and doesn't really work properly as you found out. :)

WOW! I downloaded this last night and there went my evening. What a great little program. A real joy to use. Very light and intuitive. I hope you keep developing this, without over-developing it of course. We Mac users need well designed tools like this. Just one suggestion. It would be nice if the search bar on the skill planner not only found skills in the data base, but in the skill plan as well. Sometimes I've forgotten if I've added a skill in, and on a very long skill plan this would be a quick way to find out. Maybe a separate search function for the skill plan? Anyway, good job. |

A little note on the latest release Version 16.4
In the ship Details window under the attributes tab the resistance's are wrong.
If the value is now 0.75% it should actually be 25%
So to get the right values you should do (1-<value>*100) to get the resistance's as they are in the game.
Also when maceveapi is not the active app anymore the ship detail window will disappear. Is this on purpose? It pops up when you reactivate the app though.
BTW I really love the application for what it is!

Yeah I know about that. I have a bunch of scripts which process CCP's database export into what I use. I need to refine them some more to modify data such as that. They are pretty crude at the moment.

Hi, i love this app. A symbol is a nice idea. And I dont find the files from the tool in my library folder. Ship & fittingtool is a great idea, but i know, that this will take much time :) But the 1,6 mio bonus is a future that is very important for me.

Yes, that's by design (To avoid screen clutter when the app loses focus). Would you prefer they remained visible?
Yeah well .. dunno exactly, no real problem I think. But I was thinking it might be cool to have it as one of those black 'see through' windows. Not sure how they are called again. Only problem might be that you cannot fit all the information on it, as I think you cannot use the three tabs you have now on it. Just an idea
