Count on patch day delays, glitches, extended downtimes, etc. CCP has an extensive track record with such things when patching our beloved EVE.
For those who set their skill queue to wrap up today, lesson learned.
Truly, this community's energy (wrath?) should be directed towards the new "features" (aka glaringly obvious bugs) that are introduced with each patch and that apparently escape CCP's crack QA team.

Ive got an idea... stop playing around with this stipud first person shooter.. and fix eve.. it annoys me that your are working on a new game, when there is so much crap to be fixed...
Mebby with a full team, you could actually patch the game on time...

You can make a new (noob) character with the same race/gender/bloodline, then on the EVE Account Management you can switch avatars for a fee.

I think ccp justs need to keep the webpage up and deploy the patch as soon as its done for download before the big day the server gets updated,perhaps time embed the code so it will only install when the server goes offline,and/or not allow the patch to run if its not an update to the version you allready have.
oh btw;nothing wrong with killing whale;if thats what you live off. I feel sorry for all those "holy cows",batman. |

They're testing as much as they can and fixing database issues; If they don't we'll have annoying jump glitches again like after the last patch... or something else.

Why can't they just add a big chunk of time instead of adding 30 min at the time to the downtime. It's kinda frustrating for... Some. People..

As soon as EVE is up for real (right now it's just the dev's testing and fixing) you'll get a popup to download the new patch as soon as you start EVE-online.

Hell, I sometimes FORGET to set my skill... In fact EVE is unique in the fact that you can advance without logging on...
Guys, there are a million things to do out there, and you got 2 more hours to do them until you can get back to your favorite world.
If you want my advice, take that long overdue shower ;)

Every time a patch is deployed, the status quo repeats itself and all the forum tears are as predictable as the sunrise every day. I could say 'get a grip', 'patience' and the like to the community, but some people never learn and thus it is futile

CCP should take EVE down for a week, reimburse the players with a week game time on the end of the subscription, offer drugs to those who can't cope a week without EVE, and sort out all the little annoying bugs and glitches.

And as always, we are just responding with the limited knowledge we got. Dude if you had read more then just headlines, you'd know that Dust 514 is done by Eve Shanghai and not the team in Iceland.
On all the 'give us the patch now' replies : Consider following scenario :
CCP releases the patch for download, you all download it while CCP is testing that client on the main server in the next 2 hours and decides that some things just need a little bit changing..
Result : you have downloaded and installed an outdated patch and can't use the auto updater in 2 hours to correct that, ergo you will be uninstalling your stuff and do the whole 2.4 GB download.
Would that make you happy ?
They can take all the time they need as far as I'm concerned. I don't need a patch until the server is up.
