Would be kewl if we had a ranking system throughout EVE.
Each kill is rated by the number of skill points of the person killed.
So someone going around killing 2mil skill-point characters vs. someone going around killing 15mil skill-point characters should be weighted in some way.
Top 10 Most Player Ship kills in the last week Top 10 Most Player Ship kills in the last month Top 10 Most Player Ship kills ever
Top 10 Most NPC Ship kills in the last week Top 10 Most NPC Ship kills in the last month Top 10 Most NPC Ship kills ever
Top 10 Most Pod kills in the last week Top 10 Most Pod kills in the last month Top 10 Most Pod kills ever
Top 10 Player Bounty Hunters in the last week Top 10 Player Bounty Hunters in the last month Top 10 Player Bounty Hunters ever
Top 10 NPC Bounty Hunters in the last week Top 10 NPC Bounty Hunters in the last month Top 10 NPC Bounty Hunters ever
Top 10 Most Player Ship kills by a Corporation in the last week Top 10 Most Player Ship kills by a Corporation in the last month Top 10 Most Player Ship kills by a Corporation ever
Top 10 alliances/corp POS'es destroyed
Top 10 Miners
Top 10 Richest Individuals Top 10 Richest Corps Top 10 Richest Alliances
Top 10 Illegal (non-war) killers (corp/individuals)
Top 10 Agent Standings (corp/individuals).
The next category compares Loyalty Points (LPs):
Top 10 Most loyal Amarr pilots Top 10 Most loyal Caldari pilots Top 10 Most loyal Gallente pilots Top 10 Most loyal Minmatar pilots
Perhaps have an auto reward system that gives some recognition to each of the top 3 people in each category...maybe a dog tag or something...I don't know.
All these "lists" should be updated weekly or daily during downtime and be available from the EVE Insider link on the EVE webpage - this way we don't have enormous lag on the webpage like the Character Info link.
Also have the links to the portaits of the pilots and their corporation for recognition.
And make sure that its anopt-in program (thanks Andrue), so not only do you limit database storage, but those who want to stay anonymous.

Yeah.
But make the system somehow ELO based and make its formula secret, so people do not exploit it :). -- Stories: #1 --

I'd like to see that as well. Only difference would be to give players the option of keeping their name off the list for anonomity. --

Edited by: NTRabbit on 17/10/2004 10:40:21 Woopy Doo, rankings... pointless waste of time imo, unless you include rankings for all professions - top miners, top agent runners by missions completed and earnings, top manufacturers by product value and efficiency.

The CA killsystem (CMS) already has many of those details, with full top 10 rankings by corp, player, etc. It gas also some rather extreme levels of functionality (including kill searches, date limitation, full client integration and a load of other stuff)
If CCP want to buy rights to it, contact Jaabaa

I agree and would like to see it extended to ores mined, profits made from market. Items built etc.
I would have it reset to zero every month (or perhaps week) so that noobs could join in.
A big problem with Eve IMO is a lack of goals. Adding in a rating system gives everyone a goal for very little effort. -- (Battle hardened miner)

For the love of god and all that is holy, do not implement a score board. it will ruin the game very badly as it does any game that it is implemented in. it just fuels those who have too much time and oversized egos and creates flame fests and ego stroking.
score boards severly degrade gaming experience. "I'm comin' for ya, and Hell's comin' with me!" |

Mabye not a full out stat system, but the person who has the most podkills in the last 7 days at any given time should have their name show up a cool color when you look at them, or in local :>. Tie-dye would work, or mabye make their ship pink!

Edited by: Admiral IceBlock on 17/10/2004 12:18:24 there should be a system like you get points when you kill some one, but there should also a restriction on the system. so you cant just go to a n00b area and kill tons of them. the points you get for a kill should really be based on skillpoint of yourself and the victim. its not the best option but there is no other option left is there?
but as the lord said, it will stroke some egos..
but a list of top richest corps and stuff like that would seem cool.

No, it would only encourage more senseless gankings, you get that ganklist set up on Chaos and keep your fragtastic wetdreams to yourself.

Totally agree with Lord Azraiel. A ranking system is a very very very bad idea.
