We are a well organised and motivated corp, inactive players are culled regularly, with generally well over 20 players online every evening UK time. So if you are a UK based player check out our website at www.ukc-eve.net then click on the "sign up" on the site to start the application process. We look forward to hearing from you.

So you started playing Eve a few days/weeks ago, learnt the basics, started skilling up and by now have earned a little ISK mining or running agent missions. Almost certainly wondering what the game is all about and more importantly what part you will fulfil in the months to come.
When I started playing Eve it was like my first day at school all over again; didnÆt know a thing, didnÆt know anyone!!, only here there was no teachers; I was expected to learn everything from my fellow students and a library that is stocked with just a few basic books.
With little direction and support from the Noobie Corp, it didnÆt take long before I started to look for a Corporation that would not only be great fun, but also offer me a long-term purpose and help me on my way. Unlike some, I guess I was fortunate that I didnÆt have to endure months of trial and error finding a suitable Corp.
IÆve been a member of UK Corp for a little over a month and can honestly say that I have struck gold! UKC are extremely well organised, supportive and team driven. For the beginner and the intermediate there is training, mentoring and career advice shared in a very supportive environment. For the more experienced players you can become a member of a dedicated division for Trade & Industry (Research, Production and Trading), Security Forces (Strategic System Mapping, PvP, Rat Killing and overall Corp protection) all the way up to attaining senior management positions within the UKC.
If you are located around the GMT Time Zone and welcome a friendly supportive team environment in which to play, I can recommend no other than UKC. Get in touch with our HR Team for further information. See you out there.

I'm just coming up to my 3rd month in the corp. As Lee said loads of peeps online to talk to and harrass for Info and advice. Just a note on how helpful I had shed loads of ore to move and 4 people offered their help to move and 3 people who have excellent refining skills offered to refine it for me. These are really great guys to work and play alongside so if you live in the UK come and speak to us!

Hi,
A couple of really simple questions :)
Are you still recruiting?
And do you accept players who have only been around a short time?
I started playing EVE again 3 days ago and pretty much immediately changed my application from trial to full. My introduction to the game was through the original beta tests prior to release so while I'm a bit out of date it's not completely new.
I'm looking to initially go down the fighting route but move into sciences and manufacturing.
And for the UK bit... based in north London :)

Updated opening thread.
Currently seeking Pvp experienced pilots and lvl4 mission runners to command teams in both PvP and PvE operations.
Our Academy doors are re-opened for new EVE pilots too. All new recruits will be taken through an induction programme to help you get a head start.

I have been a member of Uk COrp now for just over a month. In this time I have learnt and experienced more aspects of the game, than i have in my previous year of primeraly doing agent missions. I still do agent missions but now mix this up into a nice concoxion of Corp Ops, PVP, and more recently have taken part in my first War.
All in all an amazingly well organised and structured corp. Not to mention a very good laugh along the way.
Jon us and play Eve the way it should be played.

Quick question. I'm thinking ahead to what to do next after i've earnt myself my shiney new cruiser, and a nice UK-based corp sounds like a good option. However;
Voice comms: Is it essential or not?
Your initial advert says both.
Only i live in a busy house and my PC is next to the wife's. The last thing i fancy doing (and that she will fancy me doing!) is cutting myself off from people by wearing headphones and then irritating them further by chatting out-loud to people that aren't there.

Edited by: Narcissa on 16/06/2005 14:16:57 Hi Theo,
It is essential to have the capability of using Ventrillo chat, but it doesn't have to be on 23/7.
Like yourself I have to share my gaming space with other people, and sometimes the use of voice comm is not appropriate (esp. BBC1@730pm ). Most of the time you can do fine without the use of voice as day-to-day communications are done through the forums or in-game chat.
However, in certain situations (mass combat for example) where things can change quickly, the ability to at least listen in to the voice channel does become essential.

Okay, pondered :)
I'd just like to check out my current approach then regards to applying for you chaps, if thats okay?
This is actually my 2nd time on Eve, my 1st time about a year back went v poorly after joining a pants corp and before i was ready. So this time round i've done my best to learn from then and so i intend to earn some bits and pieces i've got my heart set on BEFORE signing up for a Corp. This way i won't have a 15yr old CEO yelling at me all the time for daring to want to actually earn things for myself (told you it was a pants Corp).
So i've given myself my first fortnight to get where i want to be, namely with a good general skill grounding and having earnt myself an Exequorer <sp?>. Its been 5 days so far and i've just got my first million ISK as well as a decent Frigate set-up, so i'm hopeful :)
It has also reminded me how bloody dull mining on your lonesome can be...thank God i sit next to a tv!
But i digress (Oooo, not used the word 'digress' in months, go me!), is this a reasonable sounding set-up and outlook to go behind a worthy application for the UKC? Last thing i want to do i mess anybody around, and i don't want to set my heart on any Corp too early only to find that my enjoyment of self-achievement doesn't mesh with how they like to work. Don't get me wrong, i enjoy a good fun group mine, and would love to one day be shown how this whole 'fighty' thing is done, but i also like to earn stuff for myself. Follow?
Anyways, just let me know as and when, no mad rush (still got 9 days and a good 2mil ISK to go, market prices depending, am counting on a good weekend). I've checked out the requirements and Ventrillo should be no problem (though i'm likely to be more of a listener on it rather than a chat-beast, i save that for test *grin*), nor should the 3-4 sessions per week. Oh yes, and i'm most certainly UK based.

Hi Theo, nice to see you are enjoying EVE again. In terms of you plans for apply to join us I see no problems with your stratagy. As a corp be believe in people being able to make their own way and earn their own ISK, we do run some good events to help people along as well. If you are looking to buy a Gallente cruiser you might like to consider the Celetis and the Vexor as well. The first is a nice all-rounder and the second a great mining vessel (with lots of drones) Convo me in game when you are ready to apply. PS our CEO is at least double the age of your last one, he still shouts from time to time tho

Theo, you should have no issues with the UKC. My style of play is like yours, I also like self achievement but also group activities. There is certainly no pressure in the UKC to do anything, but we do have a weekly group mining session which you are encouraged to attend. It's actually quite good fun, seeing how quickly 20+ of us can clear a belt
I only ever listen on Vent, and that is no issue either for the other corp-ees ---------------------------

hi all filled an app on your forums just waiting for someone to get intouch, im abit bored by myself
They wrote in the old days that it is sweet and fitting to die for one's Corp. But in modern war, there is nothing sweet nor fitting in your dying. You will die like a dog for no good reason. |

There, applied on website now (after loads of problems. Turns out i had to make an 'n/a' entry even in the fields that didn't apply, just to get it to submit. On Netscape it would even tell me what the error was, had to refill it all out again in IE...just so other would-be subscribers know).
Still a wee bit confused re Ventrillo though. Got it downloaded, got a desktop mic. Do i need headphones as well or can i still hear folks just fine through it over my regular speakers? IF i'm successful i'm likely to need a bit of help getting it all sorted (especially as i have to get it through my firewall/router) and i've got no means of testing it really until i've got a server to test it with.
