The CCP dev hamsters are running in their treadmills as fast as they can,
Have you ever tried shouting at your hamster to see if it goes faster?
I have, trust me it doesnt work.
all it will do is make them hide in the little cardboard shacks and then we wont get our update till they wake up.
so please no more whining, the hamsters will cry.

I would agree with the majority of the posts that CCP keeping us up to date is a good thing and is appreciated. I would say that the occasional patch or downtime is also expected. But here is my grip, i have played many MMO's some of which are grand in scale as eve is. the hour downtime everyday plus downtimes that are go on for hours at a time is very annoying. Now i understand that system maintenance is necessary but i find it hard to believe that it is necessary everyday. Having a "downtime" everyday means that in a given month us players loose 30-31 hours of play time, 1 hour per day for 30 days. i know that eve is a sandbox game and i applaud you for keeping us up to date but i will say it again it is very aggravating having 30 plus hours taken from you a month plus whatever major system maintenance you have to do. In any case thx for the great game. hope to get access soon.

Talk about scalability, but I think it's a massive waste of database space, lol. 2^64 Item IDs is a huge number.
I guess it's so when they release Walking in Stations in the year 2500 earth standard time, they have the room to assign Item IDs to every atom in the game.
Also, no more crashing a node by dumping 10,000 bookmarks into a shuttle and purposely blowing it up outside of station? awww...
32 bits = 4 bytes big deal..... Disks are big & cheap these days

for the first time ever i didn't put an extended skill on and my alt's skill runs out at midnight i completely forgot.
Not to worry though, CCp did advertise this patch well and advised a long skill train, so my fault, not there's.
(this is how emo's should react. I say we sharpen the blades and let darwin's law take effect.)

I wish CCP would put together a few new shiny trailers or videos for patch days. At least we would have something to do while waiting. And is it just me, or are we getting pretty close to a new expansion and still no new trailer? I like shiny videos of eve...

I knew it. 1630 UTC was a pipe dream. Will 17:30 also be a tease? From the recent track record with the never-ending 1.1 patches to the patches, I'm guessing we should just find something else to do until some time tomorrow....

As of yesterday daily downtime has been officially reduced to 30 minutes. CCP also has announced that they intend to remove daily downtime altogether eventually, you might want to consult this devblog for more information.
