At this point I'm honestly wondering whether we shouldn't phrase important things like black hair on Deteis or all clothes for all bloodlines as demands, rather than requests. I honestly don't know what's going to work best with CCP at the moment.
There's only one way. We must spell our demands on the slope of Eyjafjallaj÷kull! Time is running out, so let's get started with cutting the letters!
Still waiting for this. ^
CCP - any chance of a release build on Sisi...? (please tell me this isn't it...) - Amarr robes are still borked for starters; the sleeves still fall right through the fore-arm. Not that I actually have any Amarr (robed) alts, but...
I'll be working away from home for the first day of this new release, so I will miss the launch but I'd still like to think that some treats will be thrown in at the last minute (easy stuff like jackets, black hair, etc...)
Plz nerf my Deteis ladies' eyelashes though... Everytime she blinks I expect a "K'chungg!!!" noise...

After creating five further characters without running into major bugs or show stoppers IMHO we have a char creator which is principally one of the best in the business. Moar options in clothes, haircuts and assecories can always be brought in afterwards.
I completely agree with this. This will force them to continue to improve and update. Yes it is not perfect but the art and tech that went into this is amazing. I think if CCCP gives us the option to change our char aroind more than once the fact that there is missing necessary content will be moot. Dont let us down CCP! It is a very exciting time for EVE.

CCP won't give that optional, then the forum picture would have to chance all the time. there is a reason they charge money for it, what gets released will be what you get, for the next year at least.
seriously, they said the same thing about factional warfare, and PI, that it would have more updates, and quicker releases with more shiny.
we'll it's been almost 3 years with 0 changes.

I actually have to disagree, hair colors are too few, eye size is not changeable and height is not changeable, clothes, they are toooooooooo damn few, hairs and accessories same. it is not very specific wanting from me, but if they want diversion on character looks, they really need to add height/eye/head size changers, these are ones most differentiating details which keep us humans from being clones...
We are clones. It's not piracy, its surprise PVP. |

I had this problem, I have the exact same graphics card - a driver update fixed it for me.

Edited by: Soden Rah on 18/01/2011 14:59:58 ok having checked sisi at 14:30 on patch day to see what the final release CC looks like I have to say I am very dissapointed.
The charachter still doesn't offset so dual screen users have to try to create the character across the screen divide. This makes designing the face, almost impossible to do well.
The charachter STILL moves when your trying to edit it. How many times do people have to tell you this is irritateing reasourse hogging, and stupid before you fix it. I mean seriousely. You ask for feedback on useability and the single biggest, easyest to fix, common complaint is the damn charachters move when your trying to sculpt them. FIX THIS.
There is STILL no save progress option.
Undo/redo if present is hidden, otherwise missing.
While after much reading of this forum (a graphix upgrade) and many hours of trying out this feature on sisi, mean that I know how to scroll through different options without selecting them, those trying it once on tq, particularly those towards the lower end of the GPU spectrum may well not discover how to scroll the selection carosells, the addition of some kind of visual cue to how they work would have been a good idea.
We are missing; Tattoos (all races). Decent clothing(the list of basic options not available is too long to type). decent hair styles (both in terms of cut and colouring). Height selection, everyone being the same height is imersion breaking.
All in all, I will be waiting for you to further iterate on this for as long as possible before I use this system. And if forced to use it before you have fixed it, I will be demanding the chance to remake it (for free) at a later date when you get your asses in gear and add in these options. __________________________________________________

Very slick, tried it on the testserver just now, should get to know it before i make one and im stuck with it for 7 years.
In terms of useability i have the following:
When you get to the haircolor/makeup etc. there is a box with colors and diffirent settings for the type of hair etc. That box occasionally disappears when you need it.
Possible solution: make the colors box part of the type selection, you open the hair menu and you automatically open the hairColor menu as well and it doesn't close until the hair menu has been closed.

Hey,
I have an issue making my character, when I try to create mine the bar loads all the way up but it just sits there and nothing happens. I'm using a 8800GT GPU at the moment.

Hey;
Tired to find post about my issues before I posted but couldn't find any, Char creation loaded fast but all I get is a floating head of either sex. Holding the pointer over the body allows me to see the meshes used for sculpting the char but thats it other than the head. I can put clothing on the char, but if I remove the clothing I get a floating head again. Why is this happening?

Edited by: Apsidia on 19/01/2011 18:55:08 As I understand, now on the server is stored not only an avatar, but also model of the character. Maybe that is a set of numbers for the server-side renderer. It would be very good, if at the following possibility of recreation of the character, the original model would be saved. Make, at least, possibility to save the changes made over model in a client side in the cache. I personally, have spent almost three hours, for creation of ****omodel Anita Blond, having prepared mountain of photos en face and a profile (I am seriously). From this the cheap fake has turned out. Because there is VERY feeble mobility and convertibility (I realy am serious!) of parts of a body and muscles. On the turned out avatar, despite that so long did the character, now I can understand, in what place on the face I have made something not so and where my mistakes. Possibility to be repelled from that place on which all has ended, instead of from the very beginning is necessary next time to us. I just want to correct a nose, a chin, make lighting by brighter, more movability of an eyes, cheeks and a mouth, make really RED hairs, and to make a facial implant on the left cheek like in old portrait.

Okay, I've recreated my alt and I on the real server.
The character creator is still not supporting Green hair. I was able to get my hair color, but the Gallente and Intaki Greenheads still need their haircolor.
Also I was able to find a new bug. I didn't see an option for a Widow's Peak. Some characters need a widow's peak.

I agree with many other posters, a lot of the accessories that really made some characters unique are no longer available. Tattoos, computer chips (on faces), hoods, those strange gallente face shields, headsets...

Selecting the "Low Quality" character mode fixes the flashing problem for me.
**SOLVED Updating to the latest Nvidia drivers 266.58 resolved this for me. The update was fairly painful involving a failed update, then manually removing the previous drivers and Nvidia Tools software, then installing again with a bluescreen on reboot for added fun but once I got the new drivers loaded this problem is gone.

Just wanted to say thanks to CCP for the do-over opportunity. I'm super-happy now with all of my avatars and portraits. Sometimes you need to just live with your portrait for a few days to better understand what you should have done.

Overall, i'm pretty happy with the character creator as it currently is. After a lot of trial and error on Sisi, i managed to create really handsome portraits. Could be improved, though: - Reset button to reset facial expression and pose to neutral. - It's not always easy to imagine how the final portrait will look like when you're actually working on a picture that big. Not that bad once you've got used to it, but still. - More content, of course, would be great, even if there's already a reasonable amount of choice. New characters can be gorgeous, true, but they're lacking a few original features they used to have in their old version. There's a senior member in my corp, for example, who's dearly missing his infamous Jin-Mei salad bowl headwear... |

I never actually got a do over on my portrait. I guess this was offered before I made mine. I was happy when I created it but after the lighting was applied in game it completely changed the look. This is a problem because the lighting effects do not work for me in the creator. I couldn't know how it would look in game.
Is there any chance I could get the do over I never had? I feel everyone should have several chances at creating the portrait they want considering some of the bugs that exist. Please consider this CCP.
