Gloredon's post point #8 you can make your char into a fat slob to a degree.You can give them a 'Bash Street Kids comic-style' pregnant sort of swelled up stomach. But you can't go into more fat aspects such as fat head/fat other body parts etc.

Btw I think this update is the worst in the eight or so months I have been playing EVE. There was no consultation on the choices we were going to be offered. The racial differences have largely been wiped and we are all left looking homogenously human. Extremely disappointed. Along with the changes that have been made to Planetary Interaction it almost makes me want to quit playing but I shall stay and see how it plays out.

I fly a space ship I don't need to waste time on my pilots face; instead why not fix the balancing issues with battle-cruisers like the Drake and or develop a tech 2 version of it. Also the patch I tried to update eve crashed the program completely and now a window pops up and says I need "SSE2 Support needed to run the game". I'm sorry but these patches are to buggy and need to be tested better before release. I don't care if the patches take months to develop my game should not crash every time a patch is released and not developed to work properly.

I believe this occurs on graphics cards without SM3 support: I'm running a Radeon X700, and the people I asked were running unspecified 'old cards'. I would suggest popping a warning on the second page along the lines of "Due to your graphics card being obsolete, lighting will not show in the character creator. Refer to http://www.eveonline.com/whatever/characterlighting.jpg for a table showing light colors, directions, and intensities as they will be rendered on the final portrait." Also, for those having trouble opening the character creator (or who are too lazy to create a portrait for all their characters), I'd suggest a third "use default" (or "have server create a random portrait") option. As for the character creator options, I'd like to see: -Old backgrounds available (should be fairly easy) -'Closest match to old character' option once you're done with clothes, tattoos, and such. This would probably have to be limited to matching clothes, lighting, and other non-sculptable options.

I am disappointed that this issue was not fixed. I hope it will be fixed soon. As well, for the future, you might consider allowing the player to go back and forth between the character creator and the in game UI before they accept the picture. This would allow the player to see the proposed portrait "in context". This is important because the portrait can look good in the creator but not be acceptable in game. Finally, you need to warn people to remember that it is possible to save the portrait with the eyes closed so be careful. ps. Ignore Monkeykiller. He's just cranky today Cheers Mick

I was perfectly happy with mine but then the cached one changed to the server rendered ingame and a day later it changed on the login screen too I wanted closed eyes and hair that follows the laws of gravity I find it a bit odd that a lot of customizability was removed (tatoo, direction of eyes, more variation of ... everything), makes it look like it all was a rushed job. edit: also got unwanted clipping errors :/

I waited for today's patch... I switched all creator settings to low quality, low textures, no physical simulation... windowed mode and smallest resolution... No improvement. Otherwise, I have no problems playing EVE with shaders=low, textures=medium, LOD=high, in fullscreen with the biggest resolution. (ATY Radeon X1600) What happens if I cannot create a new character before the deadline?

Most other races would LOVE this skin coloring, like a Caldari, with their dark black outfits, they could make some striking looking characters. 5) Why do "Caucasian" females have "manly" noses? When the "Asian" character females have feminine noses? 6) Why must I have pants on if my Amarrian top is a single piece skirt that almost comes down to the knees? I mean you can't even see the underwear, why must I have pants on! For that matter where are the shorts?? 7) Why can't I go barefoot? I'm sure those Minmatar animals hate the idea of shoes!! 8) Lastly why do fat men look pregnant? I'm sorry to say, if you want to have a fat cat male character you're out of luck, or you look pregnant! Your gut will look like someone shoved a basket ball underneath your shirt... There are plenty more, but these are some of the top one I just can't believe are in the release. It's a awesome creator and the best one I've seen. Just all it's glorious features advancements there is one.. What the F*#$ thing missing or something crazy. I don't mean to sound ungrateful what CCP has done here is masterful and raises the bar for EVERY game that has a Character creator, but it shouldn't have been released in this almost beta feeling stage. Can we at least get a "we know it's a problem and we're fixing it when" I feel like the kid who didn't get invited to the birthday party! :(

Your solution doesn't work for everyone. That was one of the first things I tried and I'm still getting the hung progress bar.

I thought I'd be patient once I read that another patch was coming out, and I waited. Then I had to wait another day. Fine. Waited. OK, patch is here. Still can't use the character generator. My computer is on the older side, and I have to turn graphics down normally to play. But it seems I'm not alone. CCP, fix it or figure out what settings we need to use and tell us.

I can still only see my teeth, and if chosen my outer clothing, pants, and shoes. Sunglasses appear as a ghostly outline. In certain instances toggling clothing off allows a brief glimpse of my legs, but so far never once my face, hair, arms, or torso; and no chance to edit any part of myself. This has made it very hard to design an avatar I want to be associated with. I have tried the most recent updates, and almost every graphics setting combination possible. Nothing has helped. I have no problems with playing EVE, no delays, no slow downs, nothing. I just need help seeing, well, "me" in the creator. I worry the grace period will pass and force me to just make a random avatar I will not later be able to change before this problem is fixed.

I checked my character sheet in game. Within the character sheet, I see that my portrait has reverted to the old one. Yet, in local chat, the new portrait is showing. When launching the Eve client, the character selection page shows the correct portraits. During my previous session today, the correct portrait appeared on the character sheet. Now, the character sheet has reverted to showing the old portrait.
