To all those whining about increasing numbers of patches and updates and extended downtimes.
Grow up ffs
More patches and updates means CCP are fixing more problems, bringing new features and making an already awesome game/hobby even better for those that enjoy it and accelerating the pace which they are doing it.
Considering the amount of time it takes to deploy these fixes and the minute amount of downtime experienced and relate this to the years of game play already done by most of you who are whining about patches/downtime.I think you have your perspective a little skewed.
Good job CCP, keep up the good work. I always really enjoy the updates and the extra stuff they bring \o/

I'm glad it doesn't effect you i really am. Does not give you the right to tell them "Thanks" and "Good Job" as they do not deserve the former and do not do the latter. If it said DT will be 20 hours then i wouldn't have a problem but they say it's 7, now i will lose ISK and time i have put into my interests in EVE i wouldn't have if they had just been honest and said yeah 20 hours not the joke of 7 hours. Honestly the ******s CCP employ to do their QA should tell them this will takes ages. Unfortunatley i probably should have realised it too :)
I'm guessing you play about as much as me, which is basically all the time, the only way for us to do this is because they did a good job in making the game, period. So I say thank you and good job, because while I don't work for CCP I do know what it's like to get chewed out for doing our job right by people who don't understand it.

And still, this forum thread has yet to be updated with ANY info from the devs on the progress and status of the patch, unlike last time when they gave us hourly or :30 minute updates on the progress. Come on ccp, wake up, learn from last expansion's success and start keeping your subscribers informed on how things are going, and why it is taking so long. It worked last time, ppl were happy, and things went smoother, why are you being brainless twits this time and not keeping us informed?

ROFL... I played their MMO from vanilla to Cata, Blizzard has a very long history of hextuple-extended downtimes... usually coming right after they opened the servers too fast after one of their buggy patches and corrupted a few thousand character profiles.
By comparison CCP is a responsible, upstanding IT company... lol

This benefits CCP by eliminating the need for third party ISK sellers that so badly plague other games like world of warcraft. Some people have more limited time on the game, or have enough money that it is worth it to buy isk from EVE rather than go spend hours mining or whatever, giving them the ability to get what they want when they want it, while others, like myself, that have plenty of time in game (and the know how) to generate large amounts of isk but are limited in RL cash, can continue to play. I'ts a matter of supply and demand. Too many people buying plexes with cash and the plex price goes down. Too many people relying on plexes to keep their accounts up, the market value of plex's goes up. CCP is not going to go broke by having plexes cuz one way or another, every account/month is paid for by someone. Currently PLEX prices have been going up, indicating less people buying them, or more people using them. The system balances itself, and I'm personally glad this system exists.
