Unfortunately some people get their bandwidth throttled in the evenings, (like me ) and so downloading before 1600UTC means we can actually download it today. After 1600UTC (in UK at least) your bandwidth can get throttled by up to 90% if not more. ----

Manual Patch
to everyone who needs a manual patch, here's the website: http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php and the patch link itself: http://content.eveonline.com/evepremiumpatch259851-264377_m.exe
you can see that the version info of the manual patch matches that of patchnotes (Build 259851 to 264377) see patchnotes: http://www.eveonline.com/updates/patchnotes.asp?patchlogID=227
use manual patcher at your own risk, at worst case scenario, use repair tool and fix the client (still faster than waiting for the client to patch itself when server comes back online)

eve time is utc, eve forum time is utc, what time does it say on your post? it's not 16:15 utc! jebus.... every damn patch....
wake up muppet
eve time is uk time is gmt
fail.... eve time ain't uk time during the summertime, cuz of daylight savings.
Does UTC still starts over greenwich like GMT, like every longitude lines [divided by hour] to the right [going to france] gets the -[minus sign], and going to the left gets the + [plus sign]? if it does, UK time is UTC, BUT, during summer, Local UK Time will be one hour advance [Daylight Saving Time], which now will be an hour ahead of the UK Standard Time and the UTC or GMT. Yeah, UTC or GMT is not the same as Local Time, and sometimes understanding em is pretty hard as well :))

if patch "planed" to go live at 16:00 tell eve players 20:00... I've never heard of a eve player complaining it going up earlier and gives you extra time to iron out the little bugs
Not true if i remember correctly and its possible i dont due to way to much weed , the last patch was finished ahead of posted time !
I believe it was a well.
agreed , if im outdated i to will walk away happy for my experience ! In my line of work i have to keep upgrading my company to meet green building standards ! And honestly where as computers are last in line for me i somehow manage to find one thats capable of running all mmo's for cheap due to some nerd upgrading to the best he can get ! CHECK YOUR OPTIONS BEFORE YOU CRY !!!!!!!
For all of you who are complaining about Shader 2.0 and Shader 3.0, knock it off. I run a 9800GTX+, I ran SiSi flawlessly with my craptastic computer, Duality never worked even with a different graphics card, something about no ram being available. My computer may not be some awesome system, not like the one I'm currently building, but it does the job.
So quit your *****ing. CCP will release information for us when the time is right. So what if they upgrade the game and 5% of the 65,000 can't play. There still getting money from 95% of the OTHER players. CCP is evolving the game to support newer hardware, to support better game play. You guys are cheap when it comes to computers. I upgrade mine every 3 - 4 years, brand new everything. I currently don't work, so upgradings a bit harder for me but I still manage to find a way to do it. Bottomline, quit whining on the forums bout this and that. If CCP wants to drop support for specific things, let 'em. It's not their problem your PC can't handle it, it's yours.
- Ruthless
P.S. If my PC can't handle the new EVE, I'll just respectfully stop playing. At least until I can upgrade the hardware again :)

I get guys like you everyday, some idiot even posted a AM3+ mobo with an i7 cpu swearing he payed a fortune for it and it runs supreme. There are very few options here: 1)You indeed payed 33k and got ripped off on a system that 100% does not have these specs as they are unable to exist. In witch case you are an idiot. 2)You copy pasted this stuff and modified it so that it looks expensive but you have no idea on how to build a computer because you think you can put anything in it. In witch case you are an idiot. 3)I don't use Linux! In witch case you are an idiot.
So you see if we average the outcomes you can't be anything but an idiot.
Now i am prepared to be contradicted nobody is 100% right, but nothing less then pics with the machine and you face in it will provide enough proof. Good luck! |

You're running Windows on it? Then Eve should run, as it's designed for home PCs such as yours.
You have it easy, of course. I install my clients to a read-only NFS partition on a Sun E450 with fully populated system boards running Solaris. The partition is a RAID5 with four independent SCSI controllers (and quite a lot of disks). I have to logon as a pivileged user to set write permissions before I can update EVE, then reset everything read-only again. After the base client system is installed I can then link all my character clients (using a special script). Every client and all ALTs thus have their own unique installations linked to the base install, with dedicated cache and configs for each client. On major releases my installation script needs to be rewritten to take account of any new binaries that will need to be linked.
For the front-end I have a games machine like yours, only with better graphics capabilities (which EVE won't be using anyhow) and the OS on an SSD drive.
Cost wise, I probably paid about 20% of what you paid, and get 200% the performance. The difference will be accounted for by all the hours of effort I put in to the underlying system design, instead of expecting to be able to just go and buy something that would magically be configured to perform the way I wanted it to.
This is why windows is the number one used OS in the world and Linux well are you even on the map? Oh wait u are, about 13% of the world. so yes i love my buy something and make it work with not really having to work, and im sure u can not get a system 200% faster then mine.
I knew i knew this name somewhere your the idiot i dec'd that kept leaving corp after all the smack you talked in local...bro it's almost as bad as the smack ya talking in here.....how about know ya role and STFU....you pansey

Happy happy joy joy :<
EVE time is UTC.
UK time is GMT. Berlin/Amsterdam etc = GMT+1
UK and Europe have daylight savings.. Iceland does not. Hence 6 months a year in Iceland its one hour earlier than in the UK. And thus there is a 6 month period in which UTC is not GMT. |
