By way of comparison. My household server is a dual core Celeron (2.6Ghz) with 2GB ram, 4x2TB drives in a RAID10, 750Gb 'time machine' disk for stuff not worthy of the disk array and an 80Gb boot drive (smallest I could find). It's stuffed full of TV tuners, a NIC and runs MythTV. It can transcode an hour long MKV in to M4V (AppleTV frontends) inside 20min via HandBrake. It sits under the stairs, runs headless and is ignored for months.
What the hell are you doing, in your own home, that requires such OpenGL grunt from what is going to be a headless server? Serious question that one btw.
Also just how dangerously fast do the figures on your elecy meter go up?

p.s. for the trolls i am very aware that eve was invented to make money. im not against that. more money means "hopefully" better game. so far the contracts system is a joke due to the fact that it is possible to make a scam contract that looks so real i couldnt distinguish it from my legit ones. might aswell rename it scams instead of contracts. im not against pirates, i engage in some "walk the plank" type fun and honest work. i think eve should always have that. having a corrupt, compromised exchange system is poor design and there is no excuse. i could go on but i wont. some like it some dont.

Oh you mean that you haven't the skills to be a real pirate in nullsec so you scam people on the market? that what you mean by carebear, well if im a carebear because i was raised to act with honor (and you can be an honorable pirate, the game mechanics allow this) the i will gladly be a "carebear". its easy to call someone a carebear when you are sitting safely in jita. I will let you in on a little secret. I am a carebear, but what you don't see it the 9mm i've got in my back pocket :)

You very well know the game play reasons why there is no autopilot warp to 0 km.

As for your other comment about a UI that looks like a spaceship, i hope that is coming too. From what i've seen this update is a step closer to making that happen.
What I'd like to see is a little more emphasis on customer experience such as a HUD that looks and feels like something a spaceship would have... an F-16 fighter aircraft looking HUD for fighters, a B-52 or B-1 Bomber looking HUD for cruisers, a supertanker ship bridge for freighters... and all selectable to use or not as the customer pleases.
I think that putting the same effort into that, that was put into the Captains Lounge (which I doubt I will ever use cause I don't stare at toons all night) would satisfy more customers than putting a couch in a room and watching some toon walk around and do what? .... Makin the ships and flying experience, the majority of the customer experience, look like something more enjoyable than a spreadsheet layout is where effort should be spent. I might paint my ship but the rest of the new stuff is useless to me.

For patch day know things will happen and expect longer down times. Make sure your skill queue has a nice long skill waiting and go enjoy the outdoors or watch a movie. I know cyber spaceships is serious business, but the rage in waiting longer is pathetic.

I'm new to this game and I was wondering how you update the client. Will there be a patch on this site that i have to download and apply, or will the client handle itself once the servers come back up.
For now the status for me is : Incompatible (Version).
I found no patch on the site, and there's no patch-download starting when i try to log in. I allso tried running the repair tool to no help.

should be able to, at end oh day if its a bit jerky you can turn the quality down, Im running a ATI rad HD 4250 on mi laptop handles anything I through at it so far so you should be ok
