Agreed, too.
In the last alliance tournament I already liked the interviews with the Devs about Eve-Online and CCP way more than the matches. This was very interesting and made me think one more time CCP is a great company. The matches themselves bored me - except the Amarr team from Darkside.
But - you always get, what you allow to happen. We got a faked final. No surprise for me 0utbreak even faked it twice. I know them since a long time. Anyways what do you expect from a Dev like CCP Soundwave, who is fan of White Noise, makes cheap, Boratlike Vuk Lau RMTer jokes without any proof and forgets about DarkSide.? He is certainly a good developer, but has not much of a clue, what is going on inside the sandbox.

Congratualtions CCP, this is the culture you have cultivated.

exactly the reason they should've said, great job we got nr 1 and 2, now lets fight and see who comes up first. this whole 'i let you win cause you're my buddy' is cute, but meh to look at people who don't think this was fun to watch, object to it being hello kitty space adventures and would've loved to see a real final.

In the REAL WORLD, yes they should be disqualified as this is not proper behavior for a professional tournament. People viewing it will laugh or question why these type of things are happening. Also it will cheapen the experience of those watching and attending such events.
But this is Eve... Nom nom tears, STFU, go 2 W0W. Yeah. Ok.
I guess we don't need Eve to be taken seriously by the masses out there. *shrug* Oh well.
I feel bad for the contestants who put 100% into the tourney and tried hard to win it. If the final prize can be won like this, why bother entering?

Edited by: Portmanteau on 19/06/2011 22:24:01 fair enough, the two teams worked together to win the stuffz and there is no real rules to stop them, but then why should CCP bother making such a fuss by hyping it and putting pop ups in the game when all we are going to see is two teams giving each other a celebratory gobble.
next yrs pop up in game "quick, only five minutes to the CLIMAX of this yrs AT where we will see a group of in game bum chums toss each others salad"
Honestly CCP if you want to make an "attraction" out of this tournament, at least try to keep somewhat kosher :/

If they only receive virtual items, then i would be just fine with it.
If you are implying that what they did is ok, then what is the point of watching the next tourney?

Ok. Suddenly "bad target calling" and "bad luck at picking a setup to run". Discqualification for playing badly?

So is this the first case in Eve history where someone used isk to buy real world items? Sounds like reverse engineered MT to me

They will most likely not be any disqualifying, as that will raise a ton of other issues for CCP.
I hope they will come up with a new AT model, in an attempt to prevent this from happening.

yeah TBF it should have been expected, hats off to hydra for the massive troll. Ofc CCP should really have seen it coming too and perhaps made an effort of some sort to make sure we got to see an actual fight

signed. Was exactly my thought too.
Ban them from the tournament, disqualify them for that ****.
That's nothing to do with eSports anymore. It's a huge shame they pulled that off.
Anybody who calls that eSports should kick himself.
And PLEASE get some guys who KNOW how to use the camera for the better ! We all KNOW what ships look like close up ! Get a bit more distance !

You could check my post above and tell me how to fix this. Also who says SC2 matches aren't rigged? There's no way to stop it.

say what ? say what ???? o.O
Yes ban the winners because they can use their heads and are better at math then any others. As well as better at spyes and generally better at anything.
Ban them because they played meta-gaming of Alliance tournament better then anyone else...
Makes perfect sense..
